Got a vegan & gluten free breakfast bowl and latte for under $10 usd. Yummy, healthy, came quickly, staff were great. Overall would recommend for a healthy affordable option with vegan/gluten free options.
From the service, to the convenient location and of course the amazing food Calmate Cafe is one of the best breakfast spots in town. Juices, smoothies, amazing vegan options are a great way to start the day!
Great food and service. What more can you ask for. The food was not only delicious, the presentation was a work of art. Three outside tables and maybe 10 inside. We ate there almost every day during our visit. Great lattes, French toast, wraps, and…avocado toast. Highly recommend.More

We had a wonderful breakfast at this small, charming cafe. Friendly service. The coffee was good. The avocado toast was exceptional and we also shared a bowl with eggs, spinach, sweet potatoes, and black beans. Wholesome and tasty. We will certainly return.

We enjoyed breakfast here. One of us the had a huge and hearty burrito with green juice and the other some scrambled egg tacos. All of it was delicious. My advice is to get there before it’s packed because we got set in the back…and it was getting pretty hot back there. Next time I’ll go early and sit in the beautiful streets and eat this great food.More

Great service, delicious coffee and wonderful food! I ate the chicken wrap for breakfast and it was really good. I especially liked the sweet potato and salsa in the wrap. The tacos were wonderful as well. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed the yogurt and granola as…well.More

Wandered here just off the Main street near our hotel the Buena Ventura Grand close to the Male on. Highly recommend the Oatmeal and Avocado Toast!

A friend referred us to this little cafe which is only 2 blocks from our hotel. Great food, excellent coffee, fresh melon balls to start. Everything was fresh and hot to our table and not a bite left on our plates. Bought some of their…coffee to go – and 3 cookiesMore

I was looking for a local coffee place close to the hotel I was staying in, and just bumped into this place by coincidence, from reading their menu at the entrance I liked their choices of food and went for it. It was just what…I was looking for, crafted coffee, alternative milks, healthy breakfast and all delicious. Quick and attentive service as well. I only wish I had time to go back here before I had left. But will have to come back next time I’m in Vallarta.More

I just found this small gem this morning and I think it is going to be my new go to place in Vallarta. I had a Camotito Bowl and it was sooo freaking good. Fresh, healthy ingredients. Beautiful presentation. Delicious flavor and did I mention…cheap? The atmosphere and service is friendly, warm and laid back, and there is a very good selection of quality coffee drinks and smoothies. In a town full of outstanding dining choices, this is truly one of the best!More

Walked in for breakfast and seated immediately. Chilaquiles to die for- the sauce! Omelets on point. Nice extras like pickled jalapeños and carrots, salsa and a creamy chili sauce. Vegan options like soy milk for your coffee which was also nice. Great food and presentation….Excellent service. Nora took great care of us. Manuel the owner has a great crew and a solid cafe. Highly recommended. Been coming here daily and it’s been great every time.More

We have only been here in Puerto Vallarta for a week of our month long stay. We have already eaten at Calmate twice. There will be many more visit during the next three weeks. Difinately like to eat healthy and sometimes that is hard when…on vacation. Not here, it’s healthy, fresh and delicious. Breakfast tacos ,egg, avo ,bacon/three 95 pesos. Chiliqulies with egg ,avo refried black beans. Great friendly service. Green umbrellas out front. Tourist and locals. Great pricing. 8-5 closed Sun. Large menu coffee drinks ,smoothies ,bowls, burritos, sandwiches and more. Lunch, Spicy Thai bowl with chicken ,beans, carrots, cucs and a wrap with chicken, mushrooms, black beans ,peppers. Make sure you try their Mono loco, cold brew, choc milk ,banana and peanut butter .Nice extra touch…they serve a complimentary plate of melon sprinkled with chili powder before your meal.More
