We’d walked by Il Vino de Dante a hundred times and are so glad we decided to try it last night. For me, they were the best tapas I’d had anywhere in Puerto Vallarta (and yes, I’ve been to Barcelona Tapas). The service was top…notch. There’s no sunset view, like some other tapas places in town, but the setting in an art gallery is really beautiful and relaxing. They have a large menu with so many choices. It was hard to decide. There were four of us. We each picked one thing to share, plus we had grilled Romaine salad, mushroom risotto, and desert. Smaller plates we had were asparagus, Caprese bruschetta, and sauteed mushrooms. Everything was really great. My favorite was probably the peach-brie flatbread. For desert we had fig cheesecake and a chocolate cake that were both very good. I didn’t get the names of our servers, but both were charming, helpful, friendly, and really made for a great evening.More
So great to be back in our favorite place . Excellent food and beautiful presentation . Always a pleasure to get on my shrimps with the guajillo spice and my crabe cake to finish with the delicious dessert with a gold leaf on the top…! Beautiful settings in the middle of the galerie and patio !More
Beautiful location surrounded by art. The food and drinks were so delicious. Excellent service. Prices are what you’d expect in this elegant venue
The flavors, quality, service, location and atmosphere create a very nice balance to make it one of the best options for dining in the Vallarta’s Downtown Area.
Wonderful restaurant with attentive staff and beautiful setting, just above the art gallery. We were referred by Casa de los Artistas, in Boca de Tamatlan, on the Playa. There were 11 of us, and we started early as to be considerate. 6pm. We ordered just…about the entire menu and shared. Great Caesar salad, grilled octopus, sliders, garlic potatoes, and the raw tuna salad was more than enough for two. Everything was delicious. Then we all shared 5 bottles of wine. Great wine selection, preferred the Malbec from Baja. It was all really good. All told, the bill with 25% tip, was only $50 each U.S. They deserved every penny of the tip!More
We sat at one of the balcony tables, and it was indeed lovely. I ordered the red snapper, which was presented beautifully! However, I found the fish a little too firm and a little cool. Also, I must be honest, that I wasn’t terribly hungry….When the busser came to clear plates, he asked if my entree was okay (seeing how much of it I left on the plate). Yes, I said. And moments later, our server returned to ask again if I was satisfied. Again, I replied yes, I was just not very hungry. I was impressed by their concern and attempts to make sure I was satisfied. My husband enjoyed his dinner. We will return.More
The food was okay, the service was very poor although the waiter was charming. It took too long to get our food and not enough waiters.
Stopped in before a show at Act2PV. Amazing wine list, exceptional service and beautiful décor. We only had time for a few beverages, which were served with style and class. We’ll be back here for those and food next time!
Having been to the Galleria Dante during the day, I had already experienced first-hand the quality and variety of the art that was on display. The gallery curator (not sure if this is the right term) told us all about the restaurant and that Monday…thru Saturday, they have and artist that will be working on a painting live during the dinner hours (6-9pm). My wife and I wanted to experience the place, so we went on a Monday night with another couple. The menu options were outstanding, and we ordered Stuffed Mushrooms, Tuna Ceviche, Asparagus, and Quail egg crostini. Each one was well presented, and the taste combinations were outstanding. We ended up with two bottles of wine with dinner, both from Mexico and both were super. It is a tapas restaurant with a corresponding pace, so plan to enjoy each plate in a totally relaxed way and enjoy conversation with your partner or group. Unfortunately, the artist had an issue and was unable to be at the gallery on the night we went, but the food was so good that we will be back to experience it again.More
The ambience, service and food were over the top. Simon was an incredible waiter and really looked after us at every turn. The decor was incredible and most recently updated.
Lovely and beautifully decorated restaurant. The staff….I must say , that they truly pay attention to details. I had a visitor in my wine and they immediately replaced it ???????????? Service was amazing from start to finish . Now the food: Quail egg with Parma…ham, cheese sauce on toast was decadent. It was Creamy and savory. Slow cooked pork belly in beer served with onion radish , potato purée and Brussels sprouts . The pork belly was cooked to perfection . Falling apart after each cut, but it lacked acid and seasoning. Definitely has great potential (maybe some pickled vege or vinegar , mince garlic and lime ???????????? Dessert: gluten free chocolate cake with blueberries, raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream . What more can you ask for ???????????????????????? Wines: Malbec, Zinn and Brut were superb . This place is a true gem If this review was helpful, please give it a like ???????????? Happy travelsMore
It was pouring down rain and they had received many cancellations. The service was excellent, the food was superb and the ambiance was special. We’ve been coming to PV yearly for over a decade and can’t believe we haven’t found Di Vino Dante before. Those…of you who cancelled that night missed something special.More
Great environment and food. I ate there 5x in the past two weeks. The cooked beets salad was wonderful, I ate it during three different dinners. The carrot soup was excellent as was the coconut shrimp.
My wife and I celebrated our Valentine’s at this restaurant. We experienced a super friendly service, excellent food and wine. We were treated with a complimentary dessert at the end. We highly recommend this place.
This is a serene, classy restaurant located atop a beautiful art gallery, Galleria Dante. There are choices of environment – over the gallery, over the street, even on the roof for parties. Their staff is super friendly. Their wines are outstanding as are the preparations…of their delicious meals.More
