Basic. Local. Home style cooking. Awesome lunch here. Dinners are lined up. Space is no-frills. Prawn fajitas were awesome! Very reasonably priced too. Fun, local experience!

Very good, basic Mexican food – quick, cheap and tasty. No fish or shrimp on the menu, though. We sampled enchiladas, tacos and tostadas – they were good but nothing special. We arrived for dinner at 7 on a Wed night, after the weekly art…walk, and only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. The place is bustling with a mix of locals and tourists. I’m glad we tried it but don’t feel the need to go back with so many places to try in PV.More

Great local place for authentic Mexican food. Highly recommend the Posole! Not a tourist spot and quite popular with the locals. Do get there early as it gets quite a line after 8 pm or so…

Their menu is small, but good. Their prices are incredible and Only Cash (which is fine for the cost of your meal). It is a simple Mexican place right across from Guadalupe Church, they open since morning until evening. I went for dinner. It’s a…basic place to have home made Mexican food in a decent business.More

Very simple food, well cooked and delicious. The value is incredible—we had soup, the entree and juice for under $20 (Canadian). One entree was shrimp fajitas—absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend

Right across the road from Señora de Guadalupe church. This is a TRADITIONAL cafe, recommended by locals. If you want to experience what the local families enjoy, come here. Anjel is so wonderful and he will bring a course of soup–exquisite and simple, fish or…chicken, handmade tortillas and salsas… very simple, country fare.More

Nice small place with delicious Mexican food. Good place for breakfast or brunch. The coffee is great! The “chilaquiles verdes” were delicious; I recommend you to add an extra chicken portion. Because it’s a small place, sometimes is crowded, so be aware you may stay…a while on the waiting list to get in.More

Just a couple of streets up from the Malecon and sight lines to our Lady Of Guadeloupe. Friendly family run restaurant with the real deal Mexican food at great prices, and lots of locals (usually a good sign). Freshly squeezed OJ at breakfast was soooo…good. Chilaquiles & breakfast tacos. Dinner was an assortment of a la carte tamales, sopes, flauta and enchiladas. Amazing flavours and value.More

The food here was authentic and amazing. You really cannot beat the price either—a 3 course meal for 85 pesos. I highly recommend!

You might think that it’s proximity to Guadalupe church would make El Campanario a bad, touristy place but it’s just the opposite. This is a true Mexican family restaurant with delicious flavors. And amazing quality for the price. Our waiter was so sweet and friendly!…The restaurant itself is very humble (but cute — darling tiles on the floors). I’d love to go back again and again.More

This clean and charming restaurant directly across from the downtown church is a great find. After having been there several times for delicious breakfast, we tried their dinner menu as well. The Mexican Plate offers a small bowl of pozole soup, enchilada, taco, and a…warm sweet drink called an atole. Flavorful, healthy and hearty. The pozole soup was especially tasty, and you can add your own toppings and salsas. Two plates + two beers cost less than $10. The restaurant will filled with both locals and tourists who knew they had found a good spot.More
