La Lagosta Feliz (The Happy Lobster) is located at Rep. Dominicana 120, Lázaro Cárdenas, 48330 Puerto Vallarta, Jal. They open daily from 11:00 am – 11:00 pm. Phone #322-223-1309. They have wheelchair accessible parking, entrance, and seating. As soon as we arrived just before 7:00…pm, we were escorted upstairs. There were other couples and groups in the restaurant, but we were promptly seated. The waiter was very attentive, and we were served our drinks right away with some salsa and tostadas. After receiving our menus, the waiter brought a huge tray sampler and showed us what seafoods were available. He explained the special of the evening for couples. The lobster tails and shrimp were enormous but pricey. As an appetizer, we chose the shrimp empanadas, three, accompanied by a chipotle sauce. From the menu, I chose the gigantic shrimp butterflied and fried in a garlic butter sauce. Vegetables al dente and white rice were served alongside. My husband chose a filete with the same sides. We were offered desert, however, had to refuse as we had had sufficient. As we were dining, a trio were playing and singing to the clientele. As well, the restaurant was receiving more people. It was a very enjoyable dinner.More
We love this restaurant is the best with excellent service for sure you need to come here, is the best
The food didn’t taste that good. We’ve been several times on prior vacations. For a couple it came to 543 USD before tip. After dinner once we came to our hotel we threw everything up anyways. Our stomachs felt so sick. Sad to say but…we won’t be going to the happy lobster again.More
Our friends from the US recommended this place. Seafood was good, not worth the $325 US for a party of 3 , after the fact!
The seafood is so amazingly fresh, you will not be disappointed in the amount of food you get! The environment is beautiful, and staff was amazing.
We realized how much more we were charged after we got home. They pray on tourists! We also heard taxi drivers get a cut for bringing in customers.
Although the food is tasty, steer clear of this place! We had heard about La Langosta Feliz over the years from several taxi drivers. We finally decided to try it when the restaurant we wanted to visit was closed and yet another taxi driver suggested…it. We were surprised when we saw that the taxi driver didn’t drive away and stayed for a while, suggesting that taxi drivers are eager to recommend this restaurant because they get a kick back. We enjoyed our meal but were surprised when the bill arrived. We paid over $85 USD for a red snapper, four shrimp, two beers, and one Clamato. It struck us as a lot, especially since the atmosphere isn’t anything special. We looked at the menu online when we got home and realized that they had overcharged us by close to $40 USD. We have a home in Puerto Vallarta and would have returned and recommended this restaurant to our guests if the staff had charged us the correct price.More
This place will scam you in your bill! Be careful ! They will deceive /lure you in with the fresh seafood ,and not serve you the actual stuff advertised.check your bill because they will tip themselves and just hand you the portable machine. They over charged…us and insisted to offer us 15% if we paid cash in USD.They don’t seem to care because they assume they won’t see you again.we were a party of 4 and they charged us $6340 pesos .Total Scam. Tourist be aware . It’s a trap as many are recommended by taxi drivers !!!!More
I learned when I got there that this is where the LOCALS eat..and they were surprised I was there. Not because I wasn’t welcome, but it’s not typically a place tourists find. I highly recommend making it a stop on your trip to PV. The…food was good, service was great and I felt taken care of at the highest level from beginning to end.More
This place was absolutely terrible. I have never written a poor review here because I believe customers are difficult sometimes and people have bad days, but I feel like this is necessary. We ordered the special which was a $128 platter of lobster, seabass and…shrimp. We asked to it be under grilled to avoid it being rubbery, we asked for no bacon around the seabass and no garlic. We got the most robbery, stale, inedible food ever with garlic and bacon. We left most of it. It was nasty. I didn’t feel like sending it back would help. It tasted and felt like it was microwaved. I feel like I ate somewhere totally different than the reviewers here.More
Ordered grilled shrimp and veggies ..no rice, beans or carbs…called it a custom order and charged double than a similar item on the menu. Paid in usd for some satisfaction and no tip.
Unpretentious restaurant with the right vibe of a typical Mexican seafood place. Food was pretty good, our party shared a lot of plates so we got to taste many items from the menu. The fish, and octopus were really top of the line. This spot…is perfect for families and also perfect for somebody with a crave of Mexican seafood dishes. Highly recommended! Service very attentive btw.More
Little hole in the wall. On a nice night you can eat on top of the roof. Great food. Mariachis sang for everyone.I would go again. We had a sample plate with very large shrimp, lobster tails, fish, and salad. Plenty of food for two…for 2100 pesos ($105)More
The great atmosphere, mariache and drinks made up for fair rating food. The location provides true experience of local quisine. Busy, high demanding crowds; but Motto (Cesar) proveded due attention.
After reading the reviews, I was hoping to have an excellent meal, but it fell short. The fish and fajitas we had were the worst we had during our whole trip. My fish was dry and flavorless. On the bright side, the staff was great.
