This restaurant is one of the best we’ve been to in the world! Balam our server was exceptional! Paid a lot of attention to detail. The service impeccable, atmosphere perfect, food delicious! We highly recommend.
We are always well taken care of here. Our waiter Balam was no exception last night. The service was great and the food delicious. The only problem? We always eat too much ???? last night I tried the stuffed pepper and it was very yummy….I will definitely be having it again. The service is prompt but not pushy. Top shelf place with awesome service, surroundings and food. Our waiter was Gambino and he, along with others, made sure we had a terrific experience in every way. Will definitely go back – we already did once – and enjoy ourselves again. From the tortilla…soup to the tasty tostados, grilled asparagus, NY and Cowboy steaks and the churros to end the night…. everything was perfecto. Just go here for lunch or dinner. Great food reasonably priced. Wonderful atmosphere and our waiter Johan was fantastic. My wife had fish tacos and loved them. We were here twice during our stay and my adult kids had flank steak with cactus. I had a bone in tenderloin. All were very…flavorful and prepared perfectly. Next time we come back we will certainly visit again. We had a coffee drink for desert and Johan put on a 5 minute show making it at our table as the all of the restaurant watched. First place we dined in PV – the service was top notch. Thought we’d have a view but just have read it wrong – no view no natural lighting in fact on the darker side. Had a video DJ – that was spinning tunes with…accompanying videos so that was cool – quite a bit from the 70s when we were there. Onto the food – party of six so ordered many entrees – I actually order three small plates – crispy beef tacos, soft tacos and a Chile relleno. The descriptions in the menu are more elaborate. Other entrees were flank steak and shrimp tacos. Averages out to four – I would pass on the crispy beef tacos – They are large but vessel to meat ratio errs big time on the tortilla. Apps included guacamole and a fried cheese and bone marrow. Marrow was best thing I had but guacamole was excellent as was the fried cheese. They don’t use chips in the traditional sense – more like small tostada shells – I’d prefer chips. Overall it was fine but lack of view and more of an upscale Mexican food vibe didn’t help me- it reads special occasion for locals or for perhaps older tourists that want to be waited on and emphasize amazing service. Maybe later in the night it attracts younger folks? Drinks were great as well. Solid 4 but I’d still prefer a birria taco from the food stand. It is a great experience so I’d go again but would be infrequently if I lived there.More

We started and ended our vacation with meals at Porfirio’s. We were staying within walking distance at the Peninsula Vallarta condos, so it was a natural pick. The food was excellent both times. The service was great on our first visit, not as much on…the second, but we were on vacation and so it wasn’t a big deal. The enchiladas, suckling pig, flank steak, and carnitas were all fantastic. The churros were the magnet to visit a second time! Good drinks, so-so wine list, weird videos/music, but terrific food. All in all we six would recommend it.More

This was our first dinner in Mexico. Great energy, great food, great staff. We had fun. We didn’t realize it was a chain, but we were able to walk on our first night. We were very happy with the food & drinks.

This place was on my radar the minute I landed in PV. got the chance to try it out and everything was sensational. The restaurant is upscale and had a wonderful selection of fresh seafood and meats. The sea bass, tuna steak, shrimp and steaks were cooked to perfection. There was a large, professional staff of waiters who assisted throughout the meal. Our head waiter, Gabino Bernal Ruiz…explained all the options and was informative and personable, helping us to really enjoy the dining experience. When we first entered the restaurant, my husband and I were concerned about the noise level, the tv screens everywhere and the level of activity – it was hardly the place for a calm and pleasant dinner. Then the food and drinks started to arrive…and we were blown away by the quality and variety of the food and the excellent mixed drinks. Highly recommend the ceviche and the pork shank. My family and I had a wonderful and memorable experience dining at Porfirio’s for the first time. My husband and I are vegan. My mom is allergic to garlic. My dad and niece eat everything. We all loved our food, service and ambiance. Definitely come…here for a special occasion. It was quite a spectacle when they sang happy birthday to my dad, with cake, sparklers and all. Our server, Gabino, took very good care of us and made sure we were happy with our meals. He was not only professional, attentive and kind, he also had a wonderful sense of humor and is a talented writer. When he learned I worked at a library, he gifted me with a signed book when we left! I highly recommend Porfirio’s and will make it a point to dine there again on our next trip to Puerto Vallarta.More
