Great ambiance with beautiful modern design, superb food with excellent presentation… what perfected our experience, making it a night to remember was the very professional and warm service we received from our serving staff. We would definitely go back!
Visited restaurant for the first time. It is very hip and the meat was tasty. The sides were limited and unexciting. The wait staff kept reminding us that an additional tip was appropriate. The service did not warrant any additional tip. There was a vibe…in the restaurant that was directed to the younrer guests. I am not certain if the food warrants a return.More

Obviously busy but in a “place to go/be seen” sort of way. The QR menus are a pain. It’s an expensive place and I’d prefer paper versions. The service is impersonal – constant refilling of wine glasses is a bit tedious. Overall it’s expensive and…the food is so so. My wife’s salmon main was raw and my steak – rib eye pan cooked – somewhat tough. Chips were nice though! Starters were tolerable, albeit wife’s octopus was a bit chewy. Overall, a bit of a novelty venue, expensive and in context food poor to average.More
It was our first time dining at Sonora Prime and reading some the recent reviews had me second guessing the reservation but WOW it was fabulous!!!! I could see them having issues on Christmas Day getting full staff in the restaurant but we went on…a Friday night at 7pm just after the holidays and although it was very busy the service was outstanding and the food amazing. We are well traveled and are used to high end meals. Yes it is expensive, similar to a high end steak house in the US but the service was far and above any fine restaurant in the US. It is a louder restaurant and we were skeptical of the DJ, music and video screens but afterward all agreed we liked that about the restaurant. Would highly recommend and will dine there again.More
This used to be one of my faves every time we came to PV. Dined at least twice each time when in PV, and loved it. However, on last visit unfortunately quality had dropped overall. I’m only writing this review so the management can revive…one of my favorite restaurants. I always get the steak, with salad and soup. The salad and soup were great. The steak, not sure if it was prime meat, didn’t taste like one, and I eat steak every weak, and most importantly the sale rock needs to be changed or properly scrapped so to remove after each usage.More
I have been to Puerto Vallarta many times. Every time I asked the taxi drivers about this restaurant, they strongly recommend against going to this restaurant because it is all show no substance. After many years of not going, I finally made a reservation. The…taxi drives were right: horrible food, unprofessional service and super expensive. I have eaten in very good steak houses around the world. Please skip this place. Better go down townPV and have some tacos.8More
We booked a table for Christmas Day at this restaurant. It was highly recommended to us. We were a group of 8 on holiday and thought Christmas Day would be a great day to have a special meal out of our hotel. We could only…have the 9.30 pm slot which was fine, a bit late as we had children but ok. We arrive in a taxi from our hotel, 20 minutes away, to be told by front of house the kitchen was running behind and it would be 11 before our food would come!! Completely unacceptable! They had taken on too many bookings and walk in’s, very poor management. Why did they not phone us and tell us this was going to be the case? We could have at least tried to book somewhere else instead. It was Christmas Day!! By the time we got back to our hotel it was too late to get into the restaurants so after skipping lunch so we could enjoy our meal out we were all left very disappointed and very hungry. Christmas Day completely ruined! My friend in our group emailed them to say how disappointed we were and they have not even had the decency to reply. Terrible service and poor management.More
Went for my birthday while in PV and it did not disappoint. Food and service were excellent and the atmosphere was great as well. Will be back
I would just like to state my massive disappointment in arriving at your restaurant this evening for our 9.30pm table that was booked 3 days ago, to be informed you are running 1-1.5hrs late with food. Surely as a well established business and with a…good reputation it would have been courteous to have called us before hand to inform us of this, especially as it was Christmas Day. After travelling 15mins by taxi expecting a fantastic family Christmas Day meal, we then had to return straight to our hotel as waiting till possibly 10.30-11pm was unacceptable. We were recommended to your restaurant and I am so disappointed to have experienced this level of service and for having our Christmas Day ruined due to you taking on to many bookings!!!!More
On December 9th I was introduced to Puerto Vallarta’s Sonora Grill. As the pictures suggest this is no regular hamburger grill. Exceptionally well appointed surroundings and I suggest that you lunch early and or dinner could be a waiting game. The waiters were most attentive,…and willing to instruct the old Canadian on how to eat artichokes. For our main course we chose the Wellington burger . It was a mystery of creation, and our server blew me away when he injected cheese into the burger. This was followed by his use of a cleaver to cut the burger half . In my case the volume of the burger could not be consumed in one seating, therefore a take home container. . I could not resist the desert tray. I would classify the Sonora as a 5.5 star restaurant and a credit do Puerto Vallarta.More
Loved everything except price but that was our fault: shouldn’t have felt pressured to choose Wague Steak – it cost $$$$$. But then again, it was our impromptu anniversary celebration… And we loved the experience overall. Our waiters Luis Villa and Alberto were awesome and…the food was not only delicious but also served really nicely. So overall great and definitely memorable experience. Recommend going for special occasions.More
One of the best experiences ever! Our waiter Alberto Was the best ❤️! Amazing food to have on couple, family and friends. The best drinks by Luis Alia’s el Choco ???? ! I’ll be back for sure !
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. When we think about celebrations Sonora Prime Puerto Vallarta is always our first option and it never disappoints. From the starter to the dessert the quality and taste of everything was outstanding. Definitely fine dining! Staff…and servers are great and always efficient, happy and polite. Highly recommend for you to ask for “ERIC PEREGRINA” to be your server. His is impecable! I will continue to visit ????.More
Food was very good here. Our service was top notch. There was not much for kids on the menu.. Make sure you have a reservation.
