The 3-star overall rating is due to our waiter, not the food. We shared a sausage panzerotti that was memorable and the rest of our meal was excellent. I don’t recall receiving such bad service ever, and at a restaurant at this price point, it…was surprising. Our waiter acted rushed when he deemed to stop by our table, and his attitude bordered on arrogance. (The rest of the wait staff was excellent.) One time, my boyfriend asked him a question, which he answered. I then asked a question, while looking at the menu, and when I looked up, I saw he had left and was halfway across the restaurant. The primary reason I’m writing this review is that when the bill was settled, we tipped 10%. One minute later, he came to our table and asked if we were upset about anything. This was so uncharacteristic, we both sensed it was because we only tipped 10%. It was so crass and inappropriate. I would definitely eat here again but not if I had this waiter.More
Amazing meal! Sharing is encouraged. The menu changes every two weeks. We ordered the ribeye steak and the chicken marsala. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, served with scalloped potatoes and the most delicious creamed spinach I have ever tasted. The marsala was…chicken thighs stuffed with the marsala mushroom mixture perfectly done with crispy skin, served with mash potatoes and asparagus. We also had a course of soup and salad, pumpkin tortelli and brussel sprouts. For dessert, we tried all three offerings on the menu. Fabulous! Our server Henry had a great personality and chose a wonderful wine for us from Mexico and at a reasonable price. After dinner the owners Chef Chanan and his wife Natalie, the pastry chef, came to our table and introduced themselves. We had a very pleasant conversation as we are also from the Bay Area where both chefs trained. Chef Chanan then took us next door to show us their other casual restaurant, Don Chava, that serves al Pastor tacos. We can’t wait to return to try Don Chava and have another excellent meal at Tre Piatti. All in all, a very memorable evening.More
Incredible food! Menu changes every other week. Great wine selection. Attentive and knowledgeable wait staff. The menu selections provide unique and delicious options. Great place for dinner with friends and family.
We went to this restaurant upon a friend’s recommendation. We have been there twice over the last six weeks and after this second time, we are wondering……. Both times, our waiter was David. On our first visit, we ordered an appetizer to share between 4…of us. After getting our bill, he doubled the order and price WITHOUT asking….so our appetizer was an outrageous $520 pesos. The second time when we received our bill, he had overcharged us for a regular drink. When we questioned it, he adjusted it. So 2 out of 2 times, David had inflated our bill until we noticed it………maybe just a coincidence but ??? Because the food is outstanding, this rating is not lower.More
Sadly, I have eaten my last meal here. I am a solo female diner, and I was not treated well at Tre Piatti this evening, which is a huge shame since I have raved about this restaurant for many years. I was not treated well….My waiter was extremely different not only with the table of six men next to me, but with another male solo diner. He was super chatty and friendly, described the dishes in detail, asked about where they were from. With me, he was very short and curt, bordering on unfriendly and rude. It’s not as if I was cheap or irritating. I did not ask many questions and I ordered a lot of food for one person: cocktail, starter, main, two glasses of wine, and a dessert. I could go on and on, but what’s the point?! I felt like I was irritating him with my presence. It’s sad because I’ve had pleasant experiences at every restaurant dining solo in PV in this trip and on previous trips. Pre-Covid, I went to Tre Piatti for my last night’s meal. I had the most fantastic experience! This… was upsetting. I actually got a bit emotional on my walk home – I did not cry, but tears welled up. I spent almost 1800 pesos and walked away feeling uncomfortable with the way I was treated. No thanks – never again.More
Great Food and Great Service. Wait staff was attentive and on Point We had a large group so they worked with us on having a family style dinner with a set menu!!!!
Having spent much time in Italy (see TA reviews), I know good Italian cooking. TP is primo Italian cooking. I had pasta pesto with sausage. Memorable. My daughter had tuna on couscous. Memorable. Order the homemade sourdough bread to sop up the incredible sauce. Memorable….Nice wine list. Very knowledgeable and accommodating waiter. Do not miss a memorable evening of superb Italian cuisine…superb cuisine of any type anywhere.More
Although because of Covid we have not been to Tre Piatti in several years we will definitely make it one of our restaurant choices this year for its imaginative, delicious food offerings and its incredible service.
A nice restaurant with very good food and terrible service. The waitstaff are far too familiar with the patrons and converse with them to the detriment of the other diners. Endless waits for your order to be taken or drinks delivered as the waiters are…chatting up customers. Be prepared for an unnecessarily long evening.More
We have eaten at Tre Piatti since it opened several years ago! The food and service are exceptional. The menu changes weekly with new and delightful specials that are fresh and creatively prepared!! Natalie, the owner makes the desserts which are exceptional – we especially…love the Chocolate Tart! Chenan, the owner creates the main dishes – always creative and lovely. Their staff is so welcoming and fun to chat with – Daniel, Jesus, David and Henry – always a favorite evening!!More
Food and service is excellent. Killer Margaritas at their restaurant next door. This place is fantastic. We hope to go here as much as possible.
Excellent food, impeccable service! We had the Gorgonzola salad, mushroom tortellini, a chicken dish along with a couple of side vegetables. And this yummy chocolate ice cream for dessert. Expensive but meal well with every penny!
Amazing food and a fun environment. Had such a great time. The food just got better and better and the drinks were so creative and delicious!
Charmingly romantic setting with attentive service. Food was very good if a bit overpriced. Really a lovely evening here.
I traveled back to PV and wanted to go back since their menu changes every time. Once again I loved the restaurant and the meal! We had what we might describe as a fried calzone appetizer that was so favorable with a marinara and pesto…sauce. The pasta with seafood was outstanding and the deserts were chocolate heaven! Good dirty martini’s and service was fantastic! I really love this place and they make me feel valued. All and all a great meal!More
