Dinner Mid Jan 2023. Our second visit here and both menu selections and cuisine are excellent. Preparation is thoughtful and temperature perfect. Waiters display disdain for customers they don’t remember from previous visits. No warmth of personality here. Waiter insisted that the only bottled water…was Evian unless we wanted “House Water” which we presumed was from the tap. Wrong!! “House Water” is actually Mexican bottled and just fine at a much lower price. There’s no wine-by-the-glass menu and the “House” selections (red & white) tasted bitter/old/watered down??. Would we come back?/ Probably because the food is good.More
Unpleasant experience at this restaurant last week. The waiter, Jose Louis Valera, had a really bad attitude. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant. Too many other good dining options in Vallarta to waste money on this type of service.
The venue and service are very European as is the food. I always enjoy the Rack of Lamb which is served in large and small portions. Soups are first rate and the sauces do not lack flavor. Save room for Europeans desserts. This type of…fine service-food restaurant is unexpected in PV. For couples, there are 3 tables on the terrace outdoors on the 2nd floor. Very enjoyable and somewhat isolated.More
Can you believe, when my husband asked if they could call us a taxi, that someone would actually leave the restaurant and run to find one for us., who does that, “ TRIO”, THATS WHO! This is our 3rd time here over the years and…it’s still our favorite restaurant in PV. Last night’s salad was great, ( I’ve already had salads at 2 different restaurants while here that were not as good as theirs) . Our Sea Bass was plentiful and we both brought back to our condo enough for tonight’s dinner. The wine was good and not expensive. The food cam fast, ( I want to be sure and mention the good warm breads too) the service was great and attentive , the atmosphere was attractive, and the place was packed, so if your here in the high season you would be smart to make reservations. Lucky for us we were early enough and there were 2 tables that sat a couple left. Don’t miss out on a winner here in PV.More
I have been coming here for years but this time was not memorable at all. It was thanksgiving and they had a special fixed menu. Most of the items were ok but not the turkey and fish were dry. The small desert was uninteresting and…boring. The service was very good but it’s also the food that matters. I’m going going back. There are far better restaurants in Puerto Vallarta that are less expensive but with excellent food and service than Trio!More
The short story: great food, centrally located, excellent value and even better service The longer version: My family and I used to come here on our annual trip to PV. It was a do not miss spot. Fifteen years since our last trip here, I…came back on a solo vacation – and back at trio. The food was as good as ever – and a really great value. (~900 pesos for a four course tasting menu). Don’t get me wrong, you aren’t walking into alinea – but every dish is clearly thought through and well prepared – and the ingredients are clearly fresh. They even let me switch out the risotto for my favorite shrimp papardelle dish , which has been on the menu a long time. My only complaint is that some of the sauces were on the salty side. That said – don’t hesitate to come here – because you’ll be treated so very well (gracias a Manuel for taking such great care of me), food is rico (delicious) and value is second to none. Do the tasting menu – though be prepared to leave llenisimo (very very full)! Enjoy!More
We planned a family dinner at Trio on Thanksgiving. We visit TRIO every time we come to PV. There was a set menu, which was not what we were hoping for and really deflated the night from the start. Everyone’s meals were good, but not…the exceptional meal experience you get from the menu items. Really just average all the way around and really felt overpriced. Also, we were sat upstairs. Nothing special about this part of the restaurant and I wish we had been sat downstairs, which has a much better ambiance.More
Food ,service and atmosphere were very good . We will come back again when they are serving wild duck on the menu. Trio is a must try while in Puerto Vallarta.
I enjoyed eating at Trio. You can get small and larger portions. I would love to try everything on the menu!
It is always a special part of our vacation to dine at Bravos. We have been coming since 2015 and always feel welcomed by Michael and the staff. It is so nice to be remembered. The menu selections offer so many choices. Something for everyone….We had dinner there twice on this visit and I had the special of rack of lamb with homemade mint sauce , it was divine. We love “our table #6 and Luis as our server. We can;t wait until we can return again next yearMore
This has to be my absolute favorite place to eat in Puerto Vallarta. Had dinner here last night and was absolutely amazed at how delicious the food was. Not only was the restaurant charming, service great, but the food was top notch. Started off with…the mouth watering tomato soup. So flavorful and delicious. Then we had a lobster tail on top of perfectly prepared pasta and vegetables. Then the main course was a Filet with caramelized onion. Then we finished off the meal with crazy good mango crepes, cheese cake and a warm chocolate cake with ice cream. The chef hand picked the red wine pairing and it was perfect. I drank too much. Had to leave a review because I was so impressed! Enjoy and thank me later!More
May 20, 2022. With a group of friends we visited, again, Trio. For two of us, it would be our last time. Libanese salad? the beets were not roasted but boiled and the width of each slice was not more than 1 1/2 millimeters…with a…red sauce made of some blended beets and a green decoration on top. Not a bad salad but for the price and the THIN slices, one can really feel offended! The Risotto with tomatoes was horrible. The tomatoes (jitomate) added a bitter taste to the rice that wasn’t creamy but soupy and while trying to discover a spice on it to make it more palatable I discovered that only salt was used. I really could not eat it. A pastry that looked like apple pie or strudel was a fancy slice from the town’s not so delicate bakery and fancily decorated.,,,, My friend’s take out was put in a to go container and NO BAG ….how cheap can one be? Service is good and the place must have been a house in former times….too bad that they easily fool people…………. Best,More
Great service Lovely ambiance Good wine Delicious bread Calamari Slightly overcooked veal and fish- likely an off night- Otherwise it was too notch
I am the pickiest eater so when the bf suggested this place I was kind of hesitant after reviewing the menu. But he was insistent and I’m so happy he was! Everything was AMAZING! Including the food (calamari, sea bass and pappardelle) and the service…was impeccable. Margaritas were great and the flan was good. It was the best meal we had, the bf couldn’t stop raving about it. Definitely a place to return.More
We were seated at a table for two on the balcony with a view of the water. When asked about a salad, our waiter recommended a soup instead. I ordered the fish soup. It had an abundance of shrimp, squid and fish in a broth…that was delicious. I would have liked a large bowl of this for an entree! However, I was delighted with my Shrimp Pappardelle. The pasta, sauce and shrimp were cooked to perfection. It is the best Italian food I have ever eaten! My husband’s food was equally delicious. He had the beet salad, and as an entree he had the red snapper. Magnificent!More
