Had a great meal here. 2 had habachi dinner and 2 had sushi. Chef was very entertaining. All Food was delicious and plentiful at an extremely reasonable price.

Truly a wonderful experience at Umai. The service was impeccable. Juan and Javier were friendly and attentive. I could tell that they kept an eye on the table because the table was always clean and we never waited for anything, but we didn’t feel like…they were hovering or rushing us. The food was delicious and the presentation was always beautiful. Definitely will go back next time I’m at n town!More

Have been to this restaurant a couple times. Very refreshing ambiance, good food, great staff. Everyone there is very kind and attentive. The drinks are subtle and delicious.

Food is great however more Japanese-Mexican (with spices) rather than just plain Japanese. It has a large Teppanyaki seating area and decoration is very nice. Dinnerware is kind of Raku very appropriate for sushi and other delicacies. Portions tend to be mid-small but hearty enough.

Wow a go to restaurant in PV. We went here four times during our stay and each time was excellent. The service was amazing and the food delicious. My favorite was the salmon. They had the best margaritas in town. I’ll be back next year…for sure.More

My girlfriend and I decided to stop here for an impromptu meal. The food was exquisite to say the least from the Rib Eye Gyoza to the California Especíal roll. What made the meal truly exceptional was the service staff. Lus and Juan waited on…us with the utmost professionalism and ensured that everything was perfect. We had a coupon for free meal at UMAI, and had to order from special menu. So wasn’t sure what to expect. We were impressed with every moment from greeting, to service, to amazingly delicious dinner. Delicious Japanese food. Extensive menu of Japanese specialties at very reasonable prices. Choices of sake too. Lovely service in fun atmosphere. We had the tempura, special barbecue pork and the honey chicken. Everything was beautifully presented and very tasty. We visited this restaurant because of the high reviews and because we generally love good sushi & sashimi. The service was great, very attentive and polite. Unfortunately, it is clear the kitchen does not handle raw fish properly. My husband and I ordered one plate…of hamachi sashimi and one octopus sushi roll. Presentation was good, but taste seemed slightly off. Within 1 hour of finishing our dinner, both my husband and I had severe stomach cramps and were sick due to food poisoning. We are sure it was from this meal as we shared both plates and had no other meals for 8 hours prior. We cannot recommend this restaurant for any raw fish plates and will never return.More
