Advertised 9 am opening, walked 3 km to restaurant only to be greeted by an angry owner who seriously didn’t want to be there that morning. I arrived at 9:30 am and he barked at me he needed another hour before opening.
How can a beachside restaurant be out of fish? We had shrimp, torta ahogada, salad, and margaritas. All average and overpriced.
EVERYTHING WAS WRONG, apart from the service, the rest didn’t worth it, starting with the menú, we checked online and the prices were totally different, I don’t know if they increase prices in high season, but everything was at least $50 MXN higher, we ordered…hot cakes with “fruits” and a Tecolota to try different things, the hot cakes were raw-Ish inside (it only has papaya and melon included) and they were almost burned outside, and the Tecolata wasn’t amazing. As soon as we arrived to the place I realized something was wrong, a restaurant topped number one for breakfast in Puerto Vallarta completely empty, and a hostess pulling people from the street, it just makes no sense, but we realized at the end the reason for this, it’s misplaced because they ask their customers to rate them 5 stars in trip advisor for a discount, a total disappointment, I never felt more cheated, I normally trust a lot in trip advisor but this time, I forgot to read through the comments. It’s not recommended, and even though some things are good, for example the service, I wouldn’t visit again.More

Had a wonderful hibiscus mezcal drink by the sea. Marco, the server, was attentive and had good advice on both food and drink. Best to get there around sunset for views!

Humberto gave us great service with a view of the ocean.. try there Long Islands they’re great. And also try there Enfrijoladas. Delicious!! We will come back for sure.

This place was a gem in the rough. The service was amazing and the authentic food was great. Humberto and Ivan did a great job taking care of us. You never know what to expect in the downtown area but we were more than happy.
Great dinner and drinks at Xolo. Humberto are waiter was great with his recommendations for drinks. The ceviche was so fresh!
The margs and Marco Antonio were great!!!!! My aunt loved the guac as well! We had a great time and a much needed break and refresher!
Marco Antonio gave the best service as always! Xolo restaurant has the best chilaquiles, highly recommend! Living in PV part time, I always bring all my friends here!!
