The food was excellent, and the pricing weren’t outrageous. The salad is presented nicely but is quite simple, and the tacos are served flaming (mezcal on a bone). The bread was served fresh.

Our experience was very good. The steak and shrimp was as nice well cooked filet with 6 grilled shrimp. Both the vegetable and seafood risotto were great. Service was very friendly and efficient. Great view. We ate here 2 times during our stay. The prices…are reasonable for the food, service and setting. The chef even came out and introduced himself. Apple pie for desert!More

the food is mediocre. They try really hard to make it a high end experience but at the end of the day it comes down to the food.

We have been to the Westin many times but have never dined at the more formal Arrefices restaurant. This was a special occasion trip and decided to give it a try. The dining area was outdoors, the weather was warm and we arrived right at…sunset which was magnificent. It has a spectacular view of the bay and all during dinner you can hear the water splashing on the shore. We were seated at a table on the front facing the water. Our waiter took a bit of time to present us with the menus but we thought it was OK as we were enjoying the view. Well, he finally arrived, presented the menus and we chose and ordered a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It seemed to be taking quite a bit of time for him to return only to find out they did not have that and he brought a Mexican white wine. My husband wanted to order a different wine and he began pushing the Mexican white. My husband said no we want to order this different wine. The waiter insisted and I said OK, can you give us a taste of the Mexican wine before we buy a bottle of it. Our waiter said no and we ordered the one that we chose. He served us the wine and we ordered our meals. We decided to order just the entrees with no starters. We ordered: – Whole Lobster approx. 1.5 lbs beautifully presented with watercress and fresh vegetables and drawn butter – about $33 USD. – Steak med rare over mashed potatoes with Bleu Cheese garnish – about $13 USD Here’s the part where we started wondering because this is the more formal higher end restaurant of the Westin. They took what seemed like a lifetime (45+ minutes) for the food to arrive. We were served the bread once we ordered but we had to ask for utensils. Once the dishes finally arrived, my steak was a bit tough and all I had was a butter knife. I had to flag our waiter down to ask for a steak knife because the butter knife was useless. After that, they pretty much left us alone – no checking in to see how the food was. The dinner was delicious, presented beautifully and for Westin’s more formal restaurant the prices were very reasonable compared to the US. The service however is pretty bad so if you are hungry or are in a hurry I would try some place else. It’s not that anyone was not nice or rude, they just took so long. This is in such contradiction to the service we received at the other restaurants like Las Palmas or the pool service. The stars are for the food and not the service.More

This review is for Arrecifes pool service. We usually order drinks while at the pool however this time we decided to try lunch while relaxing at their wonderful relaxing pool. This being a non holiday weekend, the pool was not too busy and they had…the chairs spread out for social distancing. We had great service and she was always availble when we requested anything. We ordered the wings and fries which were both hot and crispy ($7.80~~USD) and two tostadas – shrimp and tuna ($7.50~~USD). The tostadas were very large and delicious! It is such a nice pool area and we will make sure to carve out time to relax by the pool and enjoy a bite to eat when we return.More

Check the photo to see what $35 US gets you. That’s supposedly a medium-rare rib-eye steak. It was a medium-well-done, 1/4″ thick piece of chewy, salty piece of something. There’s also supposedly some mahi-mahi. They must have microwaved it. It was so dry I nearly…choked on it. Staff was friendly and the sunset was amazeballs.More

The food is elegant without being pretentious: the staff is wonderful and gracious; the view is breathtaking; the sound of the surf almost at your feet is so relaxing and so is the soft music playing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We ate here two nights during our stay in Puerto Vallarta, and it was equally great both nights. It’s a perfect spot for enjoying the sunset. The first night I had the ceviche appetizer and salmon, and the second night I had the mushroom cream…soup and New York steak. Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was excellent.More

We opted to go here rather than leave the Westin. The food was good if not great, with hints of real possibilities. We had coconut shrimp and the seafood stir fry. Also tried the cream of mussel soup, and had the dessert “symphony”. The soup…was good but could have used a little more cognac to highlight the flavor a little more. The seafood stirfry was a bit too salty, generally good, but the octopus which is notoriously hard to cook was a little too chewy. The coconut shrimp was good, it came with a side of risotto with pine nuts. Not planning to return, it’s good, but not worth a special trip.More

Went here for light dinner on a Saturday night. And our disappointment hit a record high at Arrecifes. What a terrible place in the world to be serving previously frozen seafood but that’s what we received when we ordered the Seafood Stir-fry. (We’re from the…Pacifoc Northwest – we know what fresh seafood tastes like compared to what we received.) At least it was seasoned. Unlike the grilled octopus and side orders which all needed seasoning, or at least some salt. The best tasting thing we were served was the bottled sparkling mineral water. The Cabernet Savingon was served chilled. Nice location on the beach.More

We wanted to like this place as it would have saved us from exiting the Westin resort for subsequent dinners, but it was not to be. The view is amazing. Our table was right on the ocean, the ambience was great. I started with the…grilled Caesar salad. It wasn’t very good, was cold, barely grilled and had a funky dressing, not a traditional anchovy laced one I expected. I wouldnt call it a Caesar dressing. My seafood fettuccine entree was pretty good but was curiously lacking in fettuccine. I had a better similar and cheaper entree outside the resort the following night. My wife had rack of lamb, one of her favs. While it was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and was lean for lamb, it was also very chewy, almost tough. She ate maybe half. We had also ordered crab mushrooms but never received them. We paid the bill and left before realizing we hadn’t checked to see if they billed us for the appetizer. That’s on us but the rest was on them.More
