I’m gonna write that review. After reading several good reviews about Arriba’s breakfast menu, we went this morning to check it out. It wasn’t great. The staff was welcoming and friendly, but the female server kept coughing while she walked through the restaurant, and not…once did she cover her mouth. For breakfast we ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and scrambled eggs Mexicana. The burrito was just okay. The chorizo was quite greasy. It came with potatoes (which were an off color and tasted sour to me; my husband likes them) and refried beans. The scrambled eggs were uneventful. They came with the same potatoes and beans. Meh. If you’re looking for a really good breakfast, go to San Angel which is right downstairs. Their food is amazing!More
Never having walked up the short flight of stairs to Ariba, was pleasantly surprised at this great little restaurant. Located in a fantastic location but can easily be missed. Service was extremely good, as was the HH. But they ran out of HH wine, but…still had their non HH wine(a good price). Menu has local and comfort food. Our orders of the stuffed pork chop, meatloaf and the chili relleno was all very good. Worth visiting and a great spot for people watching.More
New to the restaurant scene, Arriba is a friendly spot serving reasonably priced meals. I’ve twice had the BBQ rib special and both times it was delicious. Service is friendly and efficient.
Exceptionally friendly waiter and bar tender; they create a fun and festive atmosphere. Location 1-story high overlooking street. Chile Relleno and Chicken Mole were both excellent and reasonably priced. Only 1-block from beach.
Excellent food (coconut shrimp, chicken fajitas, daily specials), every meal was delicious! Alfredo and Arcadio are true professionals, and a lot of fun to talk with; we had a great time EVERY time we visited; they both made sure of that!!! We love this place…and look forward to more visits next trip. Both of these men deserve a HUGE amount of credit for how wonderful this restaurant is! And our thanks to the kitchen staff for the terrific food!!!!More
My husband and I frequented Arriba for happy hour for great margaritas & people watching during our visit to PV. I’d mentioned ‘chicken tinga’ to a few of the staff members one visit & where to find it. Returning the next day they’d prepared the…dish just for us- it was delicious!! The staff here are amazing, personable and fun. Thanks for the wonderful experience Arriba PV!!More
Arriba is a hidden gem above the fray! The food is delicious and the drinks, el mejor! Alfredo is very welcoming and engaging. We will definitely be back because there is much more food to experience.
Arriba has a fantastic happy hour, is steps from the beach and you get a bird’s eye view of the best people-watching street in the area! The happy hour margaritas were very well-made, without the sugary sweet syrup you brace yourself for in the low-end…establishments. Even better, the servers were so customer-service oriented, and their level of service was exceptional. Great spot to find, with so many choices around!More
Back in Puerto Vallarta once again and of course Arriba is our #1 place for breakfast. We come here every morning when in PV. The owner is the best and one of the main reasons we always return. The food and the other staff is…great as well. Make sure you make this your stop for breakfast when in PV. Plus their margaritas are the best!!!More
Jennifer, my server was very engaging and attentive to my service. The food that I had was excellent. I talked with some of the locals who highly recommended this restaurant, eating there quite often. The bar tender was very social as well. I would definitely…return when in town!More
We have had nothing but great experiences so far on our vacation to PV so perhaps we let our guard down on this occasion. First impressions were Ok and my wife and I ordered beef fajitas and their hamburger. I decided to have a margarita…and my wife had a pina colada. The food and drinks were average at best. However when the bill arrived we realized we were victims of an up charge scheme. My single large margarita was 280 pesos, 100 pesos more than my meal! My wife’s pina colada was also up charged. So to explain, when the waitress (no name on the bill of course) took our order she asked me if “1800” was Ok and I replied yes. My knowledge of tequila is poor so that one is on me however to charge a 200 peso surcharge for what was likely 2 shots of tequila in a mixed drink is outrageous! It’s like agreeing to have cheddar cheese on your burger and being charged $10 extra. Very deceitful practice as at no time were we informed of this very unreasonable upcharge. I let our disgust be known and paid the bill. They prey on your trust an ignorance. To think we were considering returning to try their breakfast. We will never be back. If you do decide to go be forewarned. They will scam you if you give them the chance.More
We had an excellent time at this restaurant. The service was quick, the food was excellent, the staff were friendly. It was really an awesome experience. Thank you all!
Very consistent, good service, and delicious food and drinks. It’s fun to sit on the patio end and look down at Olas Altas
Alfredo our Waiter was great! He was the reason we came back everyday for breakfast. This second story restaurant has great chilaquiles which are perfect to get the morning going. We will be back! Thanks for the hospitality Alfredo!
Excelente margaritas, muy deliciosas, this place had delicious and refreshing beverages, perfect for a day after the beach
