This is a very special place. Their drinks and food are exceptional, obviously created and prepared with care and attention to detail. This is not your usual Mexican Restaurant. Its a place to enjoy and savor. Our daughters went for breakfast, which they reported was…exceptional. My husband and I went for lunch and we were equally impressed. Food and service were exceptional. Next time we’ll go for dinner with favorite wine, which owners hope to expand. Don’t miss this gem off the beaten path in Puerto Vallarta.More
Really good food and nice people and the best coffee in pv I would definitely come back again The omelette is a must “ameno omelette “
Here’s a toast to slices of bread bigger than your head! French toast in Mexico… the best of both worlds right!?? La Cata is consistently one of my all-time favorite restaurants in PV. And if you want your tongue to do cartwheels, I highly recommend…the pan Francés! Warm, fluffy, sweet thick Brioche bread topped with fresh blueberries and strawberries, with a drizzle of dark chocolate and sprinkle of powdered sugar. Had mine today with a pumpkin spice latte while listening to live music. This is how you do a morning in Mexico! But seriously try everything… everything is soooo good!More
Hands down the best PANCAKES in Vallarta, fresh ingredients and clean menu. Good coffee. I wish they had a location in Nuevo Vallarta and while you are at it, one in zona romantica!
I had an omelette and potatoes. it was reasonable .it was very cute, pretty and very good service. I had a great coffee and good place to have a conversation
Super phresh addition in this small neighborhood strip mall. La cata delivers serious espresso and coffee drinks of the highest standards and very good dishes based on Mexican classics. The ingredients are ultra fresh and the place and service is super clean and efficient. The…blueberry pancakes are rediculous-ly good. Parking is never a problem and the people that go there are usually cafe hipsters and mid-range foodies. Owners are cool.More
I am a bit of a coffee snob. Being from Seattle, artisanal cafes are a way of life and I didn’t realize how spoiled I was until I moved to PV and I struggled to find a decent cup of coffee. I searched in vain…to find a cup that would be tastier than the Costco brew I make at home. Cue La Cata. Smooth as butter, the perfect temperature, caramel notes, strong but not too bitter: a touch of coffee heaven in a cup. The first time I got an Americano. Next time I got a latte with a house made simple syrup of sweet potato and spices. Are you listening?! Home made syrup + high quality coffee = COFFEE HEAVEN IN PV, people! I also tried the bagel sandwiches and they did not disappoint. Highly recommend the basil dressing! Decor is awesome. Servers friendly and attentive. Such an amazing experience. Go! Go! Go! This place is brand new and I have no doubt it will quickly become a hot spot. My only complaint? I wish this cafe was in Old Town so I could visit more often!More
