We stopped in this little “hole in the wall” for a quick beer, and ended up eating there. It was so good, we went back two days later, and will go back at least two more times before we leave. This is a gem in the heart of Zona Romántica. The tacos were super tasty, especially the carne asada ones. Try the volcano tacos and you’ll have an eruption of tasty mixed flavors. Very affordable, I do recommend to visit if you are in this…area.More

Every time we think we’ve found the best tacos in PV…. We get surprised…. Our first time at Don Chava and we were so happy. The Al pastor is delicious, and so are all the other tacos. The service was fantastic… we are here for…another 1.5 weeks and I intend to be back as many times as I can!!!!More
10/10, better tacos than ponchos 100%. Make sure you go and get the horchata as well! It’s in a beautiful area as well!
Every time I’m in PV, I take a visit to Don Chava. It is my favorite Taqueria. My favorites are the Al Pastor and Camarones along with a margarita. I always add in a Volcan which is just a flat, crispy version of a taco.
Three of us were traveling and only two of us had a chance to eat at Don Chava. We brought our other friend there the next night to eat again, two of us for the second night in a row. The next night that friend…suggested it again even though two of us ate there twice in a row. Nobody complained. The staff is hospital, friendly, and funny. The food is an obvious 5 star. I recommend you sit at the grill and hang out for drinks after your meal. It’s fun to watch the cook staff!More
It’s hard to find good food that’s reasonable priced in Old Town PV. The standards have gone down for the sake of profits in this tourist town. Not so at Don Chava. The food is freshly made right before your eyes. You can tell the…chef and staff care about the food they serve and the customer experiences. We happened upon this great little place in the heart of Zona Romantica, and returned several times during our stay in PV. It’s informal, inexpensive and good! We recommend the beef quesadillas and shrimp tacos – they’re terrific!
First place we ate after arriving in PV. First time I’ve ever had alabmre. And now it’s one of my favorite dishes. Their margaritas are good too!
It’s not fancy, but what they do, they do well. Tacos, Quesadillas and all that are fresh and reasonably priced. The margaritas aren’t too bad either! An quick, easy low maintenance meal.
???? Amazing (crispy) Tacos. They are so delicious. We are here at least once a week. The owners are on site, staff is attentive and the food is amazing and inexpensive.
We stumbled across Don Chava looking for late night eats. We had a mix of al pastor, chicken and steak tacos and quesadillas. Items are between @$1 and $3 each. I had the steak and al pastor were excellent and I had an orange Fanta…in a bottle. I will return.More
If you’re looking for great tacos, at very reasonable prices in Zona Romantica, this is the place to go. The el pastor taco is sumptuous, you’ll definitely have a few, they’re so good. You should also try their baked potato, with choice of meat on…it, choices are el pastor, beef, chicken, pork chops to name a few. To top it off, service is excellent, waiters are great especially Mario. He is so nice, very attentive and fast service with a smile for anything you need to enjoy your meal.More
The prices and service were great here. However the flavors left a lot to be desired. The tacos were average. You’d get much better tacos at the street carts around the corner. The drinks were very strong but also on the pricier side of drinks…in PV.More
