Excellent fish and chips. It is 2 for 1 on Tuesday and we had a great meal. Some complimentary chips and salsa to start with served at the table while waiting for our meal.

Every year when we come to Puerto Vallarta we walk down the street to have dinner here. Always excellent service and good food. A large selection of Mexican and seafood on the menu. Good prices.

Overall nice spot with an open air feel. We’re from southern CA so out Mexican standards are high. Food was overall average as compared to SoCal. Had the tacos and tortilla soup. Pastor tocos we’re solid. Pollo and carne were average at best. Chips and…salsa were pretty good. They give you four different kinds of salsa from avocado base to Pico de gallo. Surprised with a free flan dessert after the meal. 5% surcharge for credit cards was a bit of a bummer too. Overall reasonable price for a decent meal.More

This is without a doubt one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. If you are looking for really good, down-home Mexican food, this is where you have to go. We have been here many times, and have never been disappointed. The food…is delicious, the portions are more than sufficient, the service is amazing and personable, and the price cannot be beat. There is nothing stuffy or pretentious about El Callejon, just an all-round wonderful experience.More

My wife, family and I have been choosing El Callejon for 12 years during the 1-2 weeks we spend in PV each year. We love having breakfast there every morning, as we stay in a nearby resort. The food is delicious. If you want something…special, just ask. It is owned and operated by family. They do their best to please. We have asked La Senora for special dinners for our family and they have gone all out to please. With advance notice, she will buy special ingredients to prepare as we request. The street side dining is laid back, quiet and good people watching.More

Wish I had read the previous posters review prior to coming here. Our server definitely ripped us off. Our bill only came out to 505 pesos, but they wrote 585 which we tipped on top of that. Not only will we NEVER come back, but…we hope others will avoid as well. We came here for breakfast before our flight home and it was our least favorite place in the Marina. Most of the food at the marina is not authentic, however, this place not only lacked flavor but everything was overcooked. My cousin ordered the chilaquiles which came with fried eggs that were cooked so long the yolks was dry and grainy. They also used their tortilla chips which are great with salsa, but too thin to handle the sauce. The chilaquiles were soggy within minutes of being delivered to the table. The machaca & eggs were bland and rubbery. We thought this dish at Los Palomas was subpar, but I couldn’t even finish it here. If you need to eat around the marina, I would suggest going to ANY OTHER place. This was our most expensive and least appetizing breakfast this trip (and any other past trip to PV). The purposeful miscalculation by the servers made the experience that much worse.More

Stayed at the Westin across the street so we stopped here for breakfast. The food was mediocre but that is not what upset me. The waiter tried to overcharge us. Be wary of the bill. I had to whip out the calculator so that I…wasn’t ripped off. I left a tip anyway but never went back.More

If I could give no stars. I would. Went in on a Saturday not to busy but couldn’t seat three people unless it was the back of the restaurant, we were ignored, forgotten, and i wish I could say I was there for over two…hours bc I was having such a great time. But I wasn’t. I asked for our dessert to go, didn’t even come. Had asked for the check as soon as I food came which was 1.5 hrs after we arrived. But I had to actually stand at the bar to get my check. Seriously?!?! Not good. Don’t get sucked into the convenience…More

I loved their fried ice cream! (Called fried snow on the menu) I had been wanting to get some while in Mexico and this place did not disappoint. The presentation was beautiful and the decaf coffee hit the spot. They even put whipped cream on…my coffee when they found out I love it. very friendly people and we will be back. I can’t wait to try their other food as the menu looks great. (They also brought us chips and 3 salsas…some of the best we’ve had!)More

We had visited the restaurant several times. Breakfast, dinner, snacks, and a few times for just beer. This is a very convenient and wonderul place. We highly recommend it. It is directly accross from the Mayan Palace on the Marina.

A refreshing fruit juice blend on a humid day. A tasty mix green salad with lots in it. Good chicken with Molé. Freshly made guacamole and wonderful welcoming service. Alfredo. The restaurant is still in the alley but most of the seating is near the…street now and much fancier than seven years ago. We were able to greet the mom and dad in the afternoon and then came back to dinner. Can’t wait to bring friends when they arrive in a few daysMore

We visited this lovely, open air restaurant three times during our two week stay in PV. We just couldn’t get enough of this place! By far our favorite menu items were the cold Pacifico beers at Happy Hour (half price!) and the freshly made ceviche…which will bring tears to your eyes. Unbelievable taste and huge portion size — enough for two. Do not miss this family owned cafe/bar/restaurant. Inexpensive and friendly, located just off Marina Vallarta across the street from the Westin Hotel. I can’t wait to return!More
