I was out on my own looking for a spot for lunch, when I happened upon Sol de Luna. I first asked if wine was available. The owner, Jorge, said no, but I was welcome to bring my own. There is an Oxxo 2 doors…down. I then asked to see the menu, but nothing really jumped out at me. I asked if he had shrimp tacos, and he said, sure he could do that ( although not on the menu). So I took off to the Oxxo and came back with a nice bottle of Merlot, which was opened and poured for me. After a wait of about 10 minutes, Jorge, brought over my tacos. Well I have to say they were the best I ever had in Puerto Vallarta and were presented very professionally. This is a great little restaurant, with pleasant staff, good service and great food. I understand Jorge is looking for new larger premises, which I will certainly look out for on my next visit to PV.More
When you are looking for a quaint dining experience try Sol de Luna. On a hot day his drink with basil was excellent. and hit the spot Everything I have eaten there is prepared with love. The foods is so tasty and seasoned to my…liking . I am celiac and he caters to my needs which is wonderful.Jorge and his staff treat you like famiy which make you feel very welcome every time you dine there.Remember the name it is a must to try.More
On the advice of a couple from Canada (always put your trust in Canadians), my wife and I recently visited Sol de Luna for breakfast. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but that is part of its charm. It’s away from the masses along…the malecon and in a quiet neighborhood. In a word our breakfast was FANTASTIC! It was carefully prepared, had only fresh items, was beautifully presented, and was delicious. Among the very nice touches was the fact that along with the “main course” for breakfast – coffee, juice, and a small plate of fresh fruit were included. Our breakfast would have easily cost twice as much back in the U.S. – and it probably wouldn’t have been as good! The service was very attentive, and George (the owner) was great to talk to. Give Sol de Luna a try. You won’t be disappointed!More
Jorge, the owner, welcomes everyone with a hug and a big smile. Try one of his juices…my favorite is the Cucumber and Pineapple with a little Basil…simply delucious. Located now on San Salvador, calle. Cinco de deciembre…soon to move across from Leys groceria. Huaraches Aztecas…is a favorite as is his Hamburgesa, hamburgers, which range in size from grande to mas grande…1/2 kilo. The flavor is out of this world…Sol de Luna!!!! Try it…you will be back!More
We came here on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. Excellent recommendation! The food was fantastic! Everything was so fresh, nothing made until after we ordered it. We all had burgers, honestly, the best burger I have ever had. The seasoning in the burger was…unique and delicious, the Oaxaca cheese was a fantastic addition to the burger. All ingredients were so fresh, from the burger to the side salad. Lemonade was tasty and refreshing. Unique presentation on a wooden platter and comfortable, clean environment. The owner and chef Jorge was so welcoming and kind! Definitely recommend! I hope to come back soon!More
We loved this spot! Great service! Fresh, flavourful, homemade food! I loved my (cactus)vegetarian burger!!! So delicious!! The boys had the mummy burgers, which had melted oaxacan cheese on top. OMG. All so good! Yummy fresh salad and great fries too!!! We will be back…soon!!!!More
Absolutely excellent food had a morning breakfast there was just delicious a little out of the way hard to find great place to eat.. apparently amazing hamburgers I just had breakfast but going back again.
We accidentally came across Sol de Luna on a side street before Puerto Vallarta downtown. What a delightful experience. The dinner menu is hamburgs and I had the cheesburger. It was huge, with a small side salad and a small side of fries. Best hamburg…I have ever had in Puerto Vallarta! Decor is clean and quaint. Jorge, the cook and owner as well as the staff are very hospitable and service was excellent. Very reasonable. My cheeseburger was only 89 Pesos. They do not have a liquor licence but you can buy a beer or canned drinks from an Oxo a few doors away and drink it with your meal. They have a wide selection of fruit waters and smoothies. I had a diet coke. While there I learned that they have a breakfast menu, including Mexican fare and North American fare, including Eggs Ranchero, Angry Eggs, Omelets, Pancakes, French toast and more. I will be back to try breakfast!More
I loved everything about Sol de Luna. The food was great and a good change-up from regular burger joints (raspberry chipotle, anyone?); the music was terrific and I can’t say enough good things about the staff. I ended up here 3x in 3 weeks.
