It is dinner food some things are delicious like the skillet but the biscuits and gravy fall short of the down home cooking flavor we crave. The basic plates are what you would expect. Not crazy busy in high season and that a plus.
Johnnys Diner was very good for breakfast. We had the Ham and Cheese Omelet. Indoor seating with very friendly staff and quick service
Hey we like your restaurant but please less grease on the eggs and hash browns and how about 2 slices of HOT toast !
Food was bland, service spotty, and lack luster in every regard. Smaller restaurants throughout the area are a better choice.
We were walking about & hungry for breakfast and spoke briefly with a couple who encouraged us to eat at Johnny’s. What a gem of a restaurant. Fantastic friendly service I highly recommend the omlettes….superb! Fresh o.j. and excellent coffee. Inexpensive as well
Tried breakfast here on multiple occasions and was impressed each time. It’s available all day and have a good selection of both local and foreign options. The egg’s Benedict and biscuits and gravy are both great options.
Great breakfast ????, try the Pesto Omelets, service from Aldo and the wait staff is outstanding , sidewalk tables and a courtyard in the back.
Friendly staff in Family owned /operated business. Prices fair and a great place for those used to American style diners/food. The fare was tasty and of high quality. Seating is indoor/outdoor and service time was pretty good as well. They speak English and Spanish, and…even tutored me a bit in speaking Spanish as I’m trying to blend more when I’m traveling. Communication is easy here and you can order exactly what you want. It’s a good place to sit and talk or plan your days events over breakfast.More
Stopped in just because. Friends have mentioned this for breakfast and it’s burgers. Service was quick. Prices are good. Ordered a burger and fries. It was seriously good. Not gourmet at all, which was nice. Large meaty patty, fresh lettuce & tomato. Simple yet hit…the spot. Nothing satisfies some times like a great burger and fries! Be returning!More
We stopped in for breakfast after years of walking by. I think I never stopped before because Johnny’s Diner is just so…American sounding. I’m in Mexico, after all! Also, it sits in a very touristy area of town My judgment was invalid. What a nice…surprise! I ordered a couple of eggs, scrambled with cheese and 2 slices of bacon. It definitely was not American style. Not sure what they do their eggs in this part of Mexico, but these were delicious!! Bacon was very tasty too, much more so than other bacon I’ve eaten around town. My friend ordered a breakfast sandwich. She really enjoyed it and we were mostly impressed with the presentation. The sandwich was accompanied by finely sliced apples, mangoes and avocados, displayed very pretty-like. On top of the tasty, good-looking meal, the waiter was awesome. Right there, at precisely the right time, for more coffee, never hovering but always available. I didn’t get a feel of diner on the inside, which is neither here nor there, but in the back of the restaurant they have a patio. It’s actually a big courtyard between some buildings with a lot of greenery hanging down, kind of like a jungle. Johnny’s diner offers burgers, hot dogs, pork chops… Looks like a lot of American comfort food. Prices aren’t too bad, a little higher than some, not as high as others. So, now that we finally sat down and had a meal here, will definitely go back for more.More
Adequate food. Constantly changing staff, who do not know what is on the menu. Make no mistake, this is a very expensive restaurant. $4 for ONE waffle. Plus, the menu says “WAFFLES” -Plural meaning , more than one waffle. But alas there is only one….This oNOT an unintentional oversight. Be HONEST with your clients. Many other better choices in that part of town.More
Came here for breakfast with a group of friends. First they told us that they didn’t make lattes and later contradicted themselves when a different server brought out a latte. I ordered the breakfast sandwich that included egg and bacon on the menu and was…served a sandwich with just cheese, avocado and tomato. I asked where the egg and bacon was since it says it’s included on the menu. The server first said no egg was included but then later checked and apologized since he was wrong. We ordered a fruit plate and never received it. My friend ordered pancakes with strawberries and several of the strawberry pieces had mild. I wouldn’t recommend eating here since there are so many other great breakfast places in Puerto Vallarta.More
We discovered this place for breakfast a couple of years ago when we were visiting PV. Now that we are here full time we go at least once a week. The best, best, french toast I have ever eaten! Homemade raisin bread used. Great staff…and the prices are budget friendly. Do yourself a favor and check Johnny’s out for a meal.More
