A very cute spot, right on the river. We had to reserve as it got busy especially when the band showed up. Service was very good. Beers were reasonably priced. Margaritas were ok, too sweet. Most of the food, pull pork, hamburger, fries and shrimp…were mediocre. But the chicken katsu was really good. Great spot to spend an afternoon.More
Relaxed atmosphere at KekeKai’s with a local band, good food and refreshments. Friendly staff and comfortably distanced tables/seating.
New to the area, friends introduced us to this special place in the jungle by the river. It is the definition of idyllic. you enter through a canopy of trees. In the river, there are children playing. We have made it a weekly event, to…catch great music (Thank You Bay Roots) on Sunday afternoons. The food is very reasonably priced, and always great. It feels like your hometown haunt, only in the most serene and beautiful locale you can imagine.More
Thanks Charlie for introducing us to this amazing spot, It is peaceful setting by the river, watching families play in the river, and enjoying the music Sunday afternoon listening to the live music. had a great Lunch, and nice cold beers, very reasonably priced! a…wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon, Everyone was so friendly, lots of Canadians!More
Authentic, quaint restaurant down a dusty countryside road, snuggled along a meandering River. On Sunday here they had a great band Bay Roots that played fantastic music as we ate delicious Mexican and Hawaiian fare.
A wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon is at KeleKai’s. The food is authentic ( definitely try the Burria taco or bowl) and the cocktails are well made and delic. The best of all is the music – a great mix of classic and…soft rock primarily from the 70’s and 80’s. Dancing welcomed from those so inclined. We went twice during our PV vacation and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.More
Took a taxi from old town first time, then we managed to find the bus stop for the next visits. We love this place. It is such a nice peaceful place by the river. Love sitting there ona Sunday afternoon listening to the live music….The owners and staff are really nice. Food is good and drinks are cold. They make nice cocktails alsoMore
Taxi drivers in Zona Romantica do not know where KeleKai’s is, we finally got there and it sure was worth it. Great music, cold drinks, good food and lovely people. We will definitely be back ????????
Cute little bar, open air restaurant in Playa Grande, great deck area, along the river. Bring bug spray as our friends we bitten numerous times ! The bar caters mostly to Canadian/American tourists, but the prices are too steep for the location and the food…was quite bland. Service was Overly attentive by staff/owner. All in all it was OK, I would give it 2.5 stars if I could but that’s not an option.More
Thank you for your review! We’re sorry about the bug bites but we are in the tropics and along a river. We offer bug repellent for free at the bar. During high season, our clientele is mainly Canadian and American but locals do also come….More
Go on Sunday at 2 where you will be treated to great music while sitting right on a beautiful river. It’s hard to find but worth it. The food was ok , I had the pulled pork which was good. I’ll bring friends back to…enjoy the scenery and music.More
Thank you for taking time to place a review. We hope to make your next visit worthy of 5 stars!
We’ve lived here for a year and I’ve been jonesing for Hawaiian food some time. FINALLY My search is over! Kalua pork and katsu chicken are as good as in the islands. Casual setting, great drinks, reasonably priced. Dog friendly. Worth the drive. We’ll be…back.More
Mahalo for the great review. See you again, maybe for a Loco Moco or Spam and eggs with a little sweet rice ????
It’s out there, but worth getting to on Saturdays and Sundays live entertainment, good food by the river.
I did not know what to expect until I reached this sort of Tiki Restaurant with Mexican/Asian Fusion cuisine. It was a Sunday and the music started at 2:00 p.m. with totally Professional Musicians from cruise ships and the movie entertainment fields. Everything is cooked…to order in their open kitchen. Best fresh flaky chips I’ve eve seen. Interesting Hawaiian food also. The owners, Kele and Kai are actively visiting your tables and talking about everything under the sun. I am sure they would tell me where the greatest doctors reside in town or anything I needed to know. Great afternoon, the music stopped at 5:00 p.m. and we were also getting tired from impromptu dancing. Good times for all.More
Thank you for your review of KeleKai’s Restaurant &Bar! We’re happy when you, our customers/friends are happy! Look forward to your next visit ????.
Up in Playa Grande you’ll find a retreat from the city in a wonderful outdoor setting along the river. With brightly colored tables and ferns and staghorns adorning the rafters, this restaurant serves the best Mexican-Asian fusion food for a price anyone can afford. The…food is unique and all prepared on site. The owners, Kele and Kai, treat the customers like family. So, treat yourself to a great experience. Caveat: it’s quite a bumpy ride to get there, but, I promise you, you will NOT be disappointed!More
Thank you for the great review! We strive to make every visit memorable! See you again…soon we hope!
Although the drive took a bit longer than we expected, it was well worth doing in order to ‘discover’ Kelekai’s. We had a super afternoon. The food and drinks were great. Loved the music. Such a pretty location!
