The appetizer we had was really good, and came with a selection of equally good salsas. The drinks were pretty good too, but they were expensive compared to the surrounding bars/restaurants. But the food was just mediocre. I had the green enchiladas, which came out…cold and bland. My fiancée had the chipotle chicken, which was tiny and expensive. The worst part though was the cheesecake, which was so frozen that it was impossible to cut, let alone eat. It also took forever to put in additional drink orders and to get our check from the waiter.More

Ordered soup on 2 different occasions. Both times avocado was withheld until we asked for it. Second time we had to ask twice. Tiny bottle of water very expensive. Service not great. Soup tasted pretty good.

From the beginning, they failed: + The waiter took a long time to receive Us in the table and offer something to drink. + From the time we ordered drinks till they arrived, around 15 minutes went on. There were 4 of us. 2 drinks…came first. The other 2 were delayed about 10 more minutes!!!! (Not lying about the time). One of the drinks came with all the mint leaves brownish. The waiter, named Bryan, didn’t offer to change it. + ordered the food, and it took so long to come. + Guacamole doesn’t come in a big portion, as we are used to in Mexico. It’s 4 spoonfuls!!!!! We asked for extra totopos and since they were never coming, nor Bryan (he was well entertained chatting with the bartender), we asked the security guy to assist us. Bryan came explaining Us they didn’t have totopos done because they were shortening everything in the kitchen avoiding cost raising. (OMG). + Panela Cheese was really good. Tuna Tartare was mediocre. Sopes, regular. + Noise!!! Oh boy! Music from Chapultepec, from Almacén and from La Federal, play at the same time and you can’t even talk in peace. + At the time we were leaving, Bryan came to ask Us to pay the tartare, as it wasn’t charged in the bill. Low cost move. + Not coming back, and wishing Bryan and specially the management to seek help in improving service. There’s no passion at all involved here. So sad.More

We went during the day service and food was great . So the waiter said come back at night . Big Mistake, First got in music was super loud. So loud the waiter cant hear your order and will make a mistake. Not the waiter…fault but management. We ask to turn down the music they did little but still way to loud. Many restaurants at night are doing this music videos / DJ / food . Great idea and many places have done great whichwe enjoy to go to however this is way to loud. We also ordered Appetizers and we got main dish first then appetizers later. Again the kitchen fault not the waiter. Day time we had zero problems and Evening was so bad I would never go back.More

We arrived here right between lunch and dinner and went to Federale for a bite. The staff was extremely friendly (thank you Sergio), they even went out to get us a bottle of wine. The music was a bit 90ies and a tad too, loud, but…all in all a great experienceMore

I went during a early afternoon solo walk and was treated very nicely by the entire staff. I was also given the choice of eating outside on the patio or inside the open air dining room.

Passed by this place many times in the past years and decided to try it We started with a type of queso fundido ok. My wife ordered sliced fried chicken Milanese with gouda cheese and salsa verde. I ordered chicken chipotle. Waiter served us in…reverse (hers to me , mine to her) and when I sliced into my wife’s chicken it was dry as a bone. I asked the waiter what it was and he said it was my wife’s order and she had mine, so why the mix up. We then asked where was her cheese and salsa. Ooops sorry he said and took it away to fix the problem.Scant as it was. My chipotle chicken was served with some unknown rice like side and the chicken was a small portion. There was a number of staff running around then a young man dressed in jeans and a T-shirt walked in and appeared to give orders left and came back and sat with another man at the front table. Staff were very attentive to them so it seemed they must be owners however neither they nor anyone came by to ask if we were enjoying dinner… We finished dinner which was by our opinion far from delightful and not worth the money. We asked for the bill and when it was brought they overcharged us by charging us for extra cheese that was supposed to be part of my wife’s initial order not extra. OOOPs sorry once again and they reduced the bill by that amount. Not having a good experience I went over to the first man I saw in the t-shirt and jeans and asked if he was the owner. He assured me he was and I told him of the overall poor experience we had and he started to say oh sorry when you come next time,,, I stopped him and said there will not be a next time. It was obvious he had no interest in what was going on in his restaurant and how the clients were being looked after. In conclusion we will do what we had done for years keep on passing byMore

They tell you happy hour 2 for 1 then the bill comes and then and only they explain that only the shooters are 2/1. We where there the year before and had such a nice memory of this place with great margaritas and nice service…food was also good. But they screwed everything by charging us for 4 margaritas which was almost as much as are food!! That’s all we have too remember now that they screw us over and we will never ever go back nor recommend this place????More

We stumbled on this little treasure last evening and had a pleasant surprise. The restaurant has a wide variety of cocktails including and interesting martini list. Our starter was chicharron de queso, a delightful appetizer of fries cheese. I have not seen this dish before…but I absolutely loved it. I had a trilogy of tostadas – amazing and my husband had the Chile rellenos- also amazing. We will most certainly be back to La Federal!More

We’ve been to this restaurant 4 times. Usually they’re out of whatever seafood is on the menu. Tonight had reservations for 7pm. Table was ready all was good until we had to order our drinks twice because they forgot the first order. They were kind…enough to set up a table for us under the overhang when it looked like rain. And it did rain! Dinner was challenging. The salad took 40 minutes, lengua tacos were dry, quesadilla contents was unidentifiable, tacos al pastor were dry and prime rib tacos over cooked. Extending the benefit of doubt, they could have been training new staff which would account for extremely slow service (we did order in Spanish) and maybe new cooks but frankly, worse dining experience we’ve had in 2 years.More
