La Fuente Del Puente is situated just across the road from the Central Market and Flea market on the Rio Cuale River walkway below. It used to be a favorite hangout for film stars Richard Burton and his girlfriend Elizabeth Taylor, while he was making…the film “Night of the Iguana”, and in memory of this the restaurant has a Stone statue in is entranceway of the couple. Unfortunately for us, the restaurant was closed so we were unable to could check out the bar, food or nice river view seating under the palapas. TIP: Good place to take a break in the afternoon from shopping in the Cuale Island Flea market below. If you found this review informative, please check the box below. Thank you. The nice part of staying in El Centro district is the number of restaurants within short walking distance; albeit down many flights of stairs. Today I ate a quick lunch at La Fuente del Puente of the Rio Cuale. Food was good; I will be…back. Jose was a great server.More
We made a habit of coming from the south zone to visit this place multiple times. The margaritas are the best, food is phenomenal, Atmosphere, service, price. What’s not to love about this place. Missing it!!!
Been coming here for about 20+ years now. Had to skip this year because of covid 19 but looking forward to next year. My favorite waiter Jose is always right there for the 2×1 margaritas and it’s a great cool pot to relax and people…watch. Hasta la proxima!More
Sitting overlooking the river feels cooler no matter what. The gigantic tree wound with philodendron is fascinating. There’s a statue commemorating Liz And Richard’s participation in the neighborhood. It’s a regular Margarita stop for us and lunch is prompt and simple. It very easy to…forget you’re on a shopping marathon and and just have ‘Una Más’….More
Oscar Martinez and Alexis Quintoo are amazing! We looked forward to seeing them in the morning for breakfast! They greeted us and had a table ready with mimosas every morning! Excellent service!
Come see Jose. He will treat you well. Best and cheapest Cerveza in Mexico ???????? Beautiful setting next to bridge and flea market!
Very welcoming atmosphere, warm friendly place and staff. The menu was interesting, we could have happily chosen any item on there. Our Server made useful suggestions and everything we ate was very good. The Owner stopped by with complimentary home made tequila which was a…nice touch and the entertainer singing and playing guitar was the perfect addition to the experience. We went back a second time and it was just as good.More
We go here every time we are in PV! Either before going to the market or after…drinks are awesome and the food is really awesome as well! Great servers and service at a very reasonable price! Highly recommend trying it!
Food was delicious, price very reasonable, and service also excellent. Our server was super friendly. We had shrimp fajitas and red snapper. Had choice of the whole snapper or a fillet. Would definitely eat here again, maybe try their lunch or dinner.
We started out having lunch at this restaurant on the Rio Quale many years ago. It seems like a great place to lunch with the Flea Market across the street. We have never had a poor or bad meal here. My wife and I both…have allergies to onion so saying “sin ceboya” has become an off used expression. We like guacamole and most every place has salsa that is loaded with onion pieces. The chef at La Fuente del Puente will make the guacamole without any onion – and it is delicious! The seating is set next to the river and tables can be pushed together for seating large groups. Pinatas are a favorite drink of ours as some of my medications don’t work well with alcohol. Friends we have taken there tell us the Mexican National Drinks are wonderful – including the Pina Coladas. Prices? Very reasonable. The restaurant is on the north side of the river, on Insurgentes street. Its claim to fame is that Richard Burton and Liz Taylor came here while the film “Night of the Iguana” was filmed.More
This is a place you can return to over and over again without ever getting a bad meal. I would recommend their grilled catch of the day for a really nice meal if you like fish. Their beef tacos were so tender and tasty, I…would highly recommend them also. You get a welcome home atmosphere every time you walk in. This is a place with a real family feel and Jose makes your visit pleasant every time. Long standing restaurant with long standing quality.More
Met Juan and was able to have a few meals at his lovely place. There isn’t a bad seat in the place and the food is over the top. Appetizers breakfast or dinner….. you can’t go wrong! Make sure to get a banana margarita when…you are there!!! Wowza good!More
The best food is always away from the tourist areas. This is no exception. We stopped by for lunch. The service was great. The food even better. Our server even moved a fan towards us to help us stay cooler in the mid day sun….Reasonably priced. Cash only.More
Amazing traditional restaurant. A but tucked in but still easy to locate. The food is superb and you can seeit is prepared with fresh ingredients. The portions are filling so an apetizer and a main dish are enough. The daiquiry is made out of real…fruit!!! The waiter is patient and sure knows his job. 5/5 in every way.More
