As others have reported below, we were somehow overcharged for our dinner and there appears to be some form of credit card fraud happening at this restaurant. When our Visa charge was posted, it was roughly 12% higher than the bill and the charge was…made by a tech service provider rather than a restaurant. Our bank acknowledged this discrepancy and refunded us the difference (a relatively small amount) but were unable to investigate any further. Not sure what scam is happening here but use CASH ONLY if you choose to patronize this restaurant.More
Clean, consistent Italian, this restaurant is usually busy. Typical Italian food. Fresh ingredients. Good wait staff. Fair pricing. Nothing special but good food.
Started with calamari and decided not to have anything else. It was the worst calamari we have ever had. Rubbery and tough. There was only one other table occupied and we heard them say the same thing. Service was friendly and wine was good.
Amazing food!!! The greatest service in PV. Great pasta, seafood, pizzas and salads. I lived in Italy for two years and this restaurant lives up to the standards of Italy.
My wife and I ordered two different entrees for dinner and both were bad. I had the catch of the day, Mahi Mahi, which was dry. My wife had a pasta dish which was sour. We brought this to the waiters attention who took the…pasta plate to the owner, who shrugged his shoulders. He did not bother to come to our table to ask what was wrong, apologize and rectify the problem. Of course there was no adjustment to the bill. We come to Puerto Vallarta yearly, but to this restaurant we will never come again.More
Avoid. As others have mentioned below, there appears to be fraudulent charges being made to credit cards at this restaurant. My credit card transaction from La Piazzetta was charged more than the amount shown on the receipt. They also processed the transaction as a cash…advance so that I was charged a fee by my credit card company.More
This little gem was great years ago… tonight we had the calamari which was nice… hubby had the mahi mahi which was over cooked and I had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it was simply awful! No flavour to the sauce and it was…all coagulated like a pre frozen sauce. Not good at all… this used to be our go to… no more sadly. The service was non existent. We sat for 30 minutes after we are with dirty plates and not one server popped by to ask how our meal was. Lots of amazing spots in PV to spend your money… don’t waste it here!More
I asked for the Chicken with Brandy sauce, the portion of both the chicken and veggies were very poor, I asked the waiter to check with the chef if it was the right portion and he replied that the chef was going to send more…chicken because it was indeed small… when we payed they charged for an “extra chicken portion”, this is terrible service!!! There are other options with better portions and prices folks 🙂More
This was good years ago, but there are so many better Italian restaurants in PV now offering better high-quality ingredients.

I usually spend a few winter months in Puerto Vallarta and always enjoyed the ambience, the service, and the food at this restaurant. However, I now noticed that when I use the credit card to pay my bill I get a terrible exchange rate. Tonight…I got an exchange rate of 18.41 pesos to the dollar while, on the same day, getting 20.82 pesos per dollar at the Estancia restaurant for brunch at the Marriott hotel, the official rate being 20.89. I always use the same credit Something is not right and plan to call the credit card for an explanation of this discrepancy. This is not the first time I had a subpar exchange rate at this restaurant, while getting the correct rate at other places. Sadly, because of this experience I do not plan to ever return to this restaurant. Instead, I will go to the La Dolce Vita on Basilio Badillo, another good Italian restaurant.More
We all had a terrific meal here! The service was attentive and unobtrusive— the waiters were pleasant and spoke English— which was nice. The menu was varied and offered many Italian dishes— no veal though. Atmosphere was very pleasant and street musicians stopped by on…the street and were added atmosphere!More
I have been a regular client of this resturarant for many many years. We have always enjoyed our meals and the service however we were there last week and we paid our bill by credit card they have a new system and our 950 peso…bill converted to my Canadian credit card at $65.65 which is 14.47 pesos to the dollar. We took an Uber home and 35.25 pesos converted to $2.17 Canadian or 16.24 pesos to the dollar which is the going rate. The charge while not a large dollar amount is a 12.2% additional charge on our bill. IF and that is a big IF i every return I will not every use a credit card and get RIPPED OFF again.More
6 Friends and I received the worse service I’ve ever had … while we were seated right away, it took a while to get menus…. 2 tables of 2 who came in after us ordered before us and also got their food payed and left…before we even got our appetizers.. finally after an hour with no food I found the owner sitting at a table eating a pizza … told him of my situation and he basically didn’t care… so we left .. he chased after us down the street and wanted us to pay for our drinks and appetizers… I wasn’t going to because he was so rude, didn’t even apologize… and even lied and said he wasn’t the owner when obviously was…. He told our waiter if we didn’t pay our $900 peso bill that the waiter would have to pay it.. I was ok with that but my friends are nicer than me… I felt like they held me captive for an hour and they were getting off cheap…. My advice is to avoid this place … they don’t value your time .. the owner is a bully and a liar…More
Cannot say enough about how wonderful this restaurant is….food, selection, service all excellent and beyond any expectations. Starting with appetizers through dessert all was spectacular. You won’t go wrong with anything. Can’t wait to go again!
