Local corner restaurant in the Romantic area. Signs are all in Spanish but the menu is english/spanish. Nothing fancy or touristy. Basic breakfast (we ate there twice) but freshly made and inexpensive – less then $10 USD for two without beverage for eggs, bacon, toast,…hashbrowns and refried beans. Seems to be popular with locals, tourists pass it by. Cash only. There’s a terrific fresh squeezed OJ cart across the street that you can get a nice size glass of juice for about $2…eat the breakfast there and stroll accross the street and buy the OJ to top off a really inexpensive meal.More

The service is great- I particularly laughed at the lady from California who said it was a limited menu and further criticized the h enchiladas huazteca plate – I ordered the same and it was simply AMAZEBALLS- the guachinango (red snapper) is delicious too- whichever…you order, you won’t be disappointed- especially not for those prices – remover, you are paying for home made delicious food – fresh ingredients – tasty – the breakfasts are AMAZING❗️????????More

We found this place as we walked by one day and are glad that we stopped in. The prices are so reasonable but not only that the food is good the atmosphere is great and Vicente has been here for many many years. He is…a very nice man and works very hard. It’s a family affair his wife and daughter are also working there. We got to know them on our vacation last year and cannot wait to go back and see them. The portions are perfect size. And everything is made fresh right there.More

The rave reviews and a desire for authentic Mexican food drew us in. Maybe the fact we were the only patrons in the place should have given us a clue. After scanning the very limited menu we both settled on the same thing. Enchilada with…verde sauce and beef. Frankly it was awful. Tiny enchilada with we an odd tasting filling. Two thin pieces of beef cooked to the consistency of shoe leather. A couple table spoons of refried beans the best part of the meal. Too bad there was so little of this. I hate to write a critical review but this was a major disappointment.More

Unassuming hole-in-the-wall type location you might walk by and miss, but that would be a mistake. Great place for breakfast – best coffee I’ve gotten in PV so far and the pancakes were amazing. Know how good pancakes have to be for you to not…even miss syrup when you get a bite without any? Yeah, they’re that good.More

Located amongst many more ‘trendy’ restaurants, I think many people pass by this gem because of its simplicity. This is unfortunate because this little restaurant is way more than just a dining experience. It can be a cultural and historical experience. The owner, Senor Vicente…Bautista, is a chef, entertainer, poet, writer and composer. There are many pictures and newspaper articles on the walls which gives a history of the restaurant and of Puerto Vallarta, inviting discussion and amazing stories from the Senor. The family is very respectful of their customers’ privacy, but if you ask a few questions, you will get an amazing amount of information. Much of the music played in the restaurant is written and performed by the Senor. The food is traditional Mexican – nothing incredible; the ambiance is simple, but it is clean and comfortable. It is like having a dinner in a family kitchen. It is the personalities that make the difference. The restaurant was founded in 1965, but Senor Bautista’s history with Puerto Vallarta goes back even further. He originally started as a cook with the Tropicana Hotel. And over the years he had had many accomplishments. He is very modest and humble. I had the Mexican combination dinner – it was very good. But more than I enjoyed the food, I was so very impressed with Senor Bautista. You will need to have a Spanish speaker with you to get the best out of this experience. Take a chance on something that appears simple and quaint….you won’t be disappointed.More

The open air restaurant sits on busy Olas Altas street corner. The breeze is nice and the sun filters in. I’ve always stopped in for breakfast, never disappointed. This morning is no exception. I can be picky about how my eggs are cooked but they…nail the fried medium to top the huevos rancheros. Fresh squeezed OJ is soooooo good. Great value and food, and service by the family is excellent.More

Not sure why this place hasn’t got more reviews. We went here this morning for breakfast. We were slightly hesitant due to the fact that there was no other customers there. Wow! Super glad we stopped in. I had the huevos rancheros and was not…disappointed it was so good. My wife had a quesadilla with avocado salad. Had a coffee and fresh orange juice. Total was less than 200 pesos. We’re going again tomorrow so tasty and really like the fact we are supporting a family run small business. Don’t hesitate to stop in here. It’s not polished or fancy but dang it’s tasty.More

If you are in Old Town PV and want to eat some real authentic Mexican food you may want to try Las Tres Huastecas. This is a smaller sized restaurant on Calle Olas Altas. I looked at the menu that was mounted on the building…by the sidewalk and it looked intriguing. So I went inside and an older gentleman indicated that I could sit where ever I wanted. After giving me a menu he returned a couple minutes later to get my order. His English was limited but I had no problem making the order. I really felt like this was truly an authentic Mexican Cafe because I happen to have been the only non-Mexican customer. This was what I was looking for. The meal came and the pork chops where prepared differently than what I was use to, but not in a bad way. As what I have discovered, a lot of Mexican dishes are not as spiced up as to what I’m use to in the states. I just added some spices to it and it was great. I love experiencing the true cultural elements of any country I’m in and this once again was a good experience. Try it…you might like it!More

Very good homestyle food, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was oh so good. Very cheap food too. Loved when “Señor Querreque” told his stories and played his violin, he’s a local artist, you can see his poems displayed on the walls of the restaurant….Muy amables todos. We will be back!More

Stopped in for breakfast at this Mom and Pop place and was well pleased. Surprisingly spacious, very clean, and simple surroundings right on the main drag in the Zona Romantica. We enjoyed a simple but filling and tasty meal at a very reasonable price. Try…it… you’ll like it.More

This is a place I have asked many times how have not became a wonderful place, it’s located in one of the betters corners of Zona Romantica in Vallarte, but I think the owner is some kind of homophobic, I think he thinks he is…doing you a favor, I think he has the minimuns sense of service and business, alway look to be angry. The food is not bad and prices are some cheap.More

I come here every time I’m in PV. Best chicken mole I’ve ever had. It did not disappoint last week. Mind you, it is authentic, so the chicken has not been deboned. If that skeezes you out, I get it. I don’t mind pulling leg…meat off the bone, but you’re in Mexico now, so neither should you.More
