Fresh, tasty and delicious Mexican seafood. Had the shrimp diabla and son had the coconut shrimp, both very tasty. the seafood soup was also delicious. Definitely worth stopping by. A little pricey, but worth it.
Our first time eating here as I saw a diner devouring his seafood soup. For 220 pesos it was a large bowl of soup filled with TONS of prawns, octopus, scallops, fish, and crab. The broth was full of flavour it was large enough to…feed 3 people. It also came with 3 good sizes of toast. We also had the mixed burrito with shrimp, octopus, and marlin with a little house salad for 105 pesos. The provided homemade tartar sauce that was so yummy. We had a lemonade and it was so refreshing…made with real fresh limes and not overly sweet. At the end of the meal they offered on the house shots of tequila or Kahlua….how nice. We will be returning to this restaurant next time we are in PitillalMore
2 1/2 blocks from Pichi II The mixed seafood plate is the best I’ve ever had and inexpensive as well, the Zarandeado fish is great to.
We decided to go to Pitillal one afternoon during our stay in Puerto Vallarta in mid June. I had researched some places to eat in Pitillal on TripAdvisor and ran across a review for Pichis II, not Pichis. However, on the day we went Pichis…II was closing and a man at Pichis II told our taxi driver to take us to Pichis, right up the same street. It is a corner establishment with downstairs and upstairs eating areas. We decided to dine upstairs overlooking the street. We had the entire place to ourselves until another group of about 5 people showed up. There’s plenty of space for a big group. The young lady that served us was very nice and amicable. My husband and I ordered margaritas and they were delicious and strong. We ordered a seafood platter for the four of us which had octopus, mahi-mahi in garlic, shrimp in garlic and shrimp diabla (a type of bbq sauce). Everything was delicious and inexpensive! The octopus was tender and everything was flavored perfectly. I will definitely come back to Pichis the next time we are in Puerto Vallarta!More
Great service and the food was excellent, great red snapper and scrimp we went with 16 people great services
We were told about this restaurant by a musician on the street in Pitillal, which is just out of Puerto Vallarta. It was a hot day but we walked several blocks down from the main church to find this place. They gave us a free…sample of their tasty fish soup and lots of salsa & taco chips. The salsa was so awesome. My friend & I had the fish tacos which were the best I’ve ever had! My husband had a shrimp enchilada which he found to be very good. Service was fast & very friendly. They were eager to please. Wish I was goinG back to PV.More
While we were in Pitillal where my husband goes to have a haircut, we were looking for a place to have a cold beer. We came along this restaurant and were very impressed with it. We decided to order food and were very pleased with…the food. They serve a complementary fish shrimp soup and my husband really enjoyed it. I do not eat seafood so he also ate my soup. They also serve chips and salsa. The salsa was a bit too spicy for me. I just had french fries and there were plenty of them served. My husband had a shrimp burger and enjoyed it. They then serve either a shot of tequila or a kaluha. Just hit the spot. The beer was also very cold and it was just what we were looking for. Will visit this place again during our next visit. Very friendly staff.More
Staff was so friendly and the food was amazing. If you want to have a real Mexican dinner out of the tourist crowd, this is the place.
We went to Mariscos Pichi II located on E. Zapata 262. Here’s the thing about reviewing restaurants. You can’t compare each one to a fine Michelin gourmet starred restaurant as if that were the standard. You need to rate each place within its own genre….The genre here is small, authentic, very affordable, off-the-beaten-path eateries. Walking around Pitillal, a short bus ride from Puerto Vallarta, we experienced a far more authentic side of Mexico that a tourist town. We were told that locals come here to do their shopping. Even the biggest restaurants are quite small and rustic. In fact, they could stir some concern about hygiene and procedures. At this restaurant, the walls were covered with comments written in black marker by previous diners. They were very favorable, and drew us in. As is so often the case, the owner welcomed us personally, and gave us a number of freebies, including a small bowl of shrimp broth and a shot of cream and Kahlua at the end. Linda and I ordered the fish tacos, which cost 65 pesos, ($4 U.S). We received an enormous plate of food with four huge tacos containing batter fried fish, lettuce, and a tasty sauce. Unbelievable. We could barely finish them. Then, we wrote our compliments on the wall, too. With lemonade and coconut ice cream for dessert, we managed to get the bill up to about $7 for the two of us. This is one of the attractions of Pitillal, where we also bought a few little items in the shops. It’s very affordable. Although in walking around we saw several other nice looking restaurants, it is here that we shall return some day, and bring friends.More
There are to Mariscos Pichi in Pitillal, both on E. Zapata. One is a couple of blocks from the Plaza, and the other is a couple of blocks farther out. Both offer a solid menu of Mexican seafood, well prepared, and priced very well. On…our annual visits to PV, we stay with friends who live in Pitillal, and we always have one or two meals at either or both locations. These are neighborhood restaurants with a local flavor, and prices to match. I recommend them both.More
