This restaurant is on the roof top of the Encino Hotel, just on the edge of the Romantica Zone and by the Cuale River. It is somewhat run down and really quite ordinary. There are only a few tables with a view. Service was acceptable,…however the food was very mediocre, and margaritas were served in a plastic glass. With the abundance of restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, this one is well worth missing.More

14/5 We three British middle aged guys had a rrived from San Blas on a bumpy coach then local bus and checked in on a Tuesday evening. I checked out the roof terrace and found this busy cafe bar between the pool and the view…of the beach at the front impending sunset. I old my friends in the room who were settling in that we needed to be in the restaurant in time for sunset as it was convenient and looked reasonably priced considering the location and views. We managed to arrive well in time for the sunset and luckily a corner table had just been vacated so I rushed over to grab it. My friends caught up and we settled in at about 8:10 as the sun began to set. Unfortunately a lump of a multi storey car park had been planted (contravening planning regs if any) in the main view and a semi derelict neighbouring building did not help either. The restaurant was quite busy and it took a while for a waiter to attend to us. We were offered the menus and at 20:25 we chose our drinks and food from the young waiter. By 8:45 the food eventually came. If you are not in a hurry at sunset this was not a problem but this place is understaffed. A shrimp burger (104) turned out to be very good, complete with fries. My friend’s Fettucini Alfredo (94) was actually quite tasty and one of the best of the whole trip. They were accompanied by sticks of fried garlic bread which were quite tasty as I ate a couple. I had eaten beforehand so was not hungry enough for a meal so my Cielo Rojo (54) was enough of a meal for me! The CR came in a huge polystyrene cup which was a bit weird for me in a restaurant and gave it a fast food ‘restaurant ‘ feel. It seems the way to do it, considering it was a ‘sunset’ drink you could not appreciate it in the polystyrene! We finished the meal and I had to return to the room room sort out meeting some people later. As I left I told the waiter to give the bill to my friends. After a long time my friends returned saying that it took ages for change to be returned to the table so they went direct to the desk to get the change, leaving little tip as a result. The slow service us a pity in what is otherwise a good restaurant with a view. Maybe they expect people to be slow and relaxed about service? We had plans for the evening after the food and the slow service did not help achieve those plans.More

Located in the Hotel Encino 1 block from our apartment. Cozy atmosphere with fantastic views. Food was average and service was slower than usual and had to keep flagging down our server who seemed to keep avoiding us but it was our first night and…we overlooked the service and enjoying being in Mexico and experiencing the beauty. Only had a hamburger which was very good. Price is moderate.More

You get a wonderful view of the Bay from this rooftop oasis. Open at 4, it’s a nice place to sit and enjoy a snack and a drink. With a variety of Western and Mexican treats, there’s something for every one. We had a number…of items from the menu that were all very tasty and would try more next time we go. If your there later in the evening, it’s a great spot to watch the fireworks from the Pirate boat. Till next year, Adios.More

Unless you know about this place before hand, you’ll never find it. No signs, no advertising, we only heard about it through word of mouth. The hotel Encino (which occupies all floors below it) doesn’t even tell guests that it’s there. You just need to…walk in the hotel and go up to the 4th floor via stairs or the elevator. We’ve been here a few times over the last few years and have always enjoyed our visit. Food and service are very good and prices very reasonable.More

We went to this place twice during our visit. The first time we tried the wings, onion rings and burrito. The second time we went we tried their pizza. Everything was good. We enjoyed the location as we got to watch the pelicans land in…the trees in the evening on the island on the Rio Caule as well as the sunset. You can see the one bridge that goes over the Rio Caule. The staff were friendly and the food and drinks are reasonable.More

Two visits for wings and fries, and wings and onion rings. Girl working the bar never smiled once in 2 visits. First visit wife requested coke instead of lemonade. Waiter said ok but the bar girl brought lemonade anyway and the waiter never intervened or…apologized. Wings were good, fries and onion rings nothing special. Second visit the waitress was much better. Nice city view!More
