Been going here for 10 years. Still awesome. The difference is it can now get busy. Cute, peaceful restaurant on the bank of the river. Dogs, ducks and chickens can periodically run thru this open aired spot. Staff is extremely friendly. The food is incredible….Grill plate, kebabs, seafood, ribs, all amazing. One of our favourites.More

Beautiful restaurant and bar along the edge of the Rio Cuale and at the foothills of the Sierra Madre. Great drinks—excellent food—amazing service—spectacular views! Wonderful place for a refresco after hiking the river road into Paso Ancho and Pacho de la Guyaba. Thank you.

This is a lovely little restaurant overlooking the Rio Cuale. I spent a wonderful afternoon here with a group of friends, who all live in Vallarta. The food is good and drinks are good, and it is very reasonably priced. Would recommend and will be…definitely be visiting again.More

I have been here several times and its a lovely place to spend an afternoon with friends- calm and relaxing. Very friendly waiter staff. And the food is good- the wings are crispy, ribs are tender, and seafood great. But- I have had a couple…of questionable experiences after drinking the margaritas that I haven’t had at other restaurants. My experience after two margaritas was a peculiar detour to a downtown bar where I soon forgot most of what was going on but ended up in an unintentional dine and dash, a dip in the ocean with my clothes on, a fresh tattoo and not remembering where the car was parked and a search for it the next day- all totally out of character especially after two margaritas. My partner the following year had three margaritas and doesn’t remember leaving the restuarant or going to a friends house after words. I practically had to fireman carry him home (after multiple falls and bruises) where he passed out on the floor, after three hours of sleeping I heard a large crash and found him naked under an ironing board in the spare bedroom not knowing where he was- followed by a 12 hour nap. When he woke up he was fine with no memory of leaving the restaurant. I know other people who mention they can’t have more than one margarita there- I feel that they may be using a low grade tequila that has methanol but have no proof only personal experiences. Also check out other similar reports that I have seen on this sight.More

High recommendations to have a daytrip in the mountains near to Puerto Vallarta and to eat in this restourant! We hiked down from Canopy River to Moro Paraiso. It was maybe 30 minutes walk. It was perfect stop on our way from Canopy River to…Puerto Vallarta centrum. Staff in the restourant were super friendly and happy. You can see amazing jungle river view from the restourant and walk by the river too. Food was good and place clean. Also nice toilets. If you are extra lucky you can get a tequila tasting in a hidden room! That was best tequila we have ever tasted… Thank you so much! On same visit You can visit also Jorullo suspension bridge near to Canopy River, which was amazing. And on Canopy River there is incredible jungle-mountains-atmosphere and a brand new infinity pool in which you can swim for an entrance fee. To Canopy river you can take yber ot taxi from Puerto Vallarta.More

We called at Moro Paraiso during a quad bike tour. Fab drinks in a beautiful location on the river and a warm Mexican welcome awaits. We will return next time we visit PV. Thank you for the best (and strongest) margaritas I have ever tasted….Liz & Steve (Estigo Tours)More

Moro Paraiso was our last stop on the Jungle Trek tour my family took. True authentic Mexican restaurant in such a beautiful setting. We were not that hungry so we decided to get a couple of appetizers to share and some cold drinks. The chicken…nachos and queso fundido was delish! Everyone else around us had gotten meals and they all looked amazing! I wish that we had been staying closer because I would have definately gone back for another visit.More

Our group of four 20 somethings hiked up to Moro Paraíso from the Zona Romantica. It took about an hour and a half with stops along the way to spot iguanas and walk across the cool bridges. It was great to get out of the…city and see a more rural side to Mexico. The restaurant was inviting and comfortable. They had options for shade or sun as well as tables by the river. They had a swing from a tree that you could swing out over the water. Pancho was our server and he was helpful and funny. He gave us a personal tequila tasting and took our picture for the wall where other guests had their pictures. We got to learn a lot about tequila and Pancho kept us laughing the whole time. Definitely disregard the negative review about their alcohol. If you’re up in the hills and it’s hot and you drink a margarita and a half don’t be surprised when you slur your words or black out. The drinks were great and all the food was delicious.More

I have been wanting to spend an afternoon out at Moro Paraiso along the river since our first trip to Puerto Vallarta. We decided to take Uber to get out there as our time in PV was fleeting. I enjoyed looking out the window and…seeing the small colonias, men on horse-back bringing home supplies, burros tethered to a rail. brilliantly colored flowering trees & bushes in fuchsia, orange, red, white, & yellow, and the various greens & textures of the jungle, Moro Paraiso was a rustic, open-sided restaurant along the bubbling river. It & the surrounding area was very picturesque. We were warmly greeted, seated, & our drink order was taken. I had a margarita. My husband’s red wine was generously filled to the top of his glass. He took a small sip & then, asked me to do the same. The wine had turned to vinegar. My husband told the waiter that the wine had gone bad & ordered a beer. The owner came by a couple minutes later to apologize. He said that he tasted it & agreed that it was bad. We ordered the Parrillada Platter @ $220 p. We nibbled on corn chips & salsa and a spicy chili oil while we waited for our meal to be prepared. Our meal arrived & there was barbecue ribs that tasted very similar to Chinese sweet & sour pork, chicken wings, tender Arrachera, Chorizo, guacamole, & refried beans on the platter & hot corn tortillas in a basket. It was all very tasty. As I sat and drank my margarita, my husband walked up the river a bit to look for birds. But, soon came back as he didn’t see any. I ordered a second Margarita. That’s when everything went sideways. I had only taken a couple of sips. My husband said that I started to slur my words. He recognized the signs from an experience that I had at a restaurant on a previous trip. Raicilla? Mexican moonshine? My husband immediately ordered me a bottle of water which I gulped down. He ordered me a second bottle & asked the owner to call us a taxi. He said he did not have phone service. We walked from the restaurant until I saw some arches over the road & beyond people boarding a bus. Then, I blacked out! I am so thankful that I was with my husband. He managed to get me on that bus, then, an Uber ride, & up the 35 stairs to our building’s lobby, & up the elevator to our condo. Would I go to Moro Paraiso, again? Yes, But, I would stick to non-alcoholic beverages.More

This was recommended to us and we are really pleased we went. Beautiful location, good food and friendly staff. Bbq meat and fish with all expected trimmings. Lovely daiquiris. Good price. We used Uber from hotel zone in pv – approx 115 pesos. It’s roughly…1.5 hours walk back down hill but we wimped out and caught bus after about 15 mins walking.More

Off the beaten path to say the least. We got off the #4 bus at the end of its line and had a 10 minute walk (or one beer walk). Once we arrived we were treated with some amazing food(surprised us), great service and an…incredible setting. Just off the side of the river. Never seen so many Macaws in one place. Just beautiful. They make their own tequila and are not shy with it. Careful with their delicious margaritas!More

We were at the Jorullo bridge and walked down the mountain to this restaurant. The setting is beautiful. We sat down by the water and enjoyed the afternoon before continuing our walk to the town to catch a bus. The service was excellent and our…food was very good. Their margeritas were very good. They only had one flavor. You could actually tell they put tequila in them. There is one correction from previous posts others have made about getting here. When you take the Paseo Ancho bus to the end of the line and walk here. The road is not dirt. It is a fully cobble stoned road. The walk is an easy walk. Come and enjoy this wonder setting.More

I’ve been coming to this wonderful hidden treasure for the past 15 years… It’s at the end of the R04 bus line plus a 10 minute walk. It’s right on the river, a lovely serene place, the staff and the food is great…you can catch…the R04 bus (make sure it says Paso Del Guayabo) at the corner of Lazzaro Cardenas and Insurgentes heading east…you won’t be sorry you did…More

Being a good distance up the rio cuale up a rural road it is well away from the crowds of Puerto Vallarta in a beautiful narrow section of the riverjust before the road begins climbing up the mountain side. We were made welcome with enthusiasm…as the only customers and served attentively. My wife had charcoal grilled tuna while I had bbq ribs. Both were very good. Toward the end of our meal a group coming down from further up the river on six ATVs arrived. The restaurant was still not crowded. As always el Moro Paraiso provided a very good experience at a moderate price.More
