If you are looking for a change of pace from Mexican and Italian options, look no further. This restaurant is authentic Greek food. Charming atmosphere and friendly service. Greek food from a Greek chef!
We had a perfect night, nice ambiance and the food was delicious. Had greek salad for starters and shrimp and chicken shish kebab as main dish. Very friendly people, good wine list and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
We’ve been to Mykonos three times now and have not been disappointed. Apostolis, the owner and chef, is from a small Greek Island in the Cyclatics and his friendly manner as well as his cooking reflect that. From appetizers to dessert, the meal was sublime…every time.More
Another gem that we found while staying at VallartaSol Hotel. Very surprised to find in the neighborhood a Greek Restaurant. Impeccable service and delicious food. Closed Sundays but Opa next door is open and serves similar Greek foods.
My husband and I had a lovely dinner at this restaurant. We had the mussels (white wine sauce was sooo good), the calamari (also yummy) and the Mykonos shrimp pasta, which was the waiter’s recommendation. The terrace is beautiful and covered in plants and string…lights. We met the chef, who was very friendly, and the staff was super relaxed and personable. The price was a touch high but still reasonable and the tasty food and lovely environment made it so worth it. Great date night, would recommend!More
Are you feeling the need to be demeaned, ridiculed, abused, and put down by an aggressive and arrogant waiter who speaks excellent English? Well then Mykonos Restaurant in the Versailles area of Puerto Vallarta has just the guy to fit that description. A few samples…after waiting 30 minutes to have our drink order taken then 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive; “Hurry up and order your dinners because I’m busy!” and “You want 3 more olives in your martini? I’ll charge you extra for them.” plus “You say that you didn’t order and didn’t eat that appetizer, but I say you did!” To add another injury my martini was about an inch deep and had 3 olives… all with pits in them! First time lifetime for a mini-tini with pits; almost broke a tooth discovering that one. Our party of 6 was disgusted by his attitude and should have left after the initial “Hurry up and order” insult, but while we all looked at each other like “Did that really just happen?” we neglected to act. That was our first mistake (other than choosing Mykonos to begin with). How dare he belittle and loudly accuse my wife of not paying for a second appetizer, which she hadn’t ordered but was on her bill and paid for by someone else at our table? Speaking of my wife, she told Juan that she was ordering 1 appetizer as AS HER DINNER… he brought that appetizer to her about 60 minutes before the rest of our dinners arrived; ridiculous that she was thus finished her dinner 60 minutes before the rest of us were even served. At the end of three (3) hours I had to stand beside our table signalling for our bills as he ignored us. Finally all 3 of us had to get up and walk together in a united front to the desk to force his hand. By the way, this is likely the first and only Greek restaurant on the planet that had no spanakopita available.More
Service was extremely slow, due to having very few staff. Many tables around us were complaining of service, the poor quality of the food, and more… This made for a poor dining attmospher. Every dish from soup to my entrees was overly salted. The soup…was so salty I did not eat it, and the cost was not removed from the bill. My salad was warm, and there was what appeared to be water in the bottom of the bowl. My entrée was salty and had an under-taste. When I brought it to the attention of the waiter, he said — no one else has complained about salt or an under-taste. He did not ask if I would like something else. I was very displeased with the entire experience.More
Truly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. Arrived promptly for our reservation (10 people). Our waiter came over and made us switch seats because he said it would be easier to prepare the bills (asked for separate bills-per couple). Drink order taken (mine…was forgotten). Husband had to go up and order it. Food order taken. Verrrryyyy long wait to get the food. Upon arrival mine was stone cold (granted it was a Greek salad with a grilled chicken breast (cold as well) but the chicken was chopped into small pieces and VERY overdone – dry and tough. Waiter came over and asked how our meals were and I commented on the way the chicken was overdone and he said -wait for it- good for you because you won’t get salmonella! The salad itself had been sitting for quite some time before coming to the table …water at the bottom. The lamb that was ordered by someone had an ‘after-taste’. And then came the completely screwed up bills. Took half an hour to get sorted because they said they don’t usually do seperado…. To sum it all up: rude waiters…incredibly slow service…substandard food. I had been forewarned by someone that had eaten there recently and they had said not to go. Should have taken their advice.More
Wonderful Greek & Mediterranean food restaurant, hosted by Chef Apostolis. My wife and I enjoyed dinner on their rooftop patio, which has a really nice ambiance. The service was prompt and very warm and friendly. We shared some fried calamari, fresh, light, tender and delicious….My wife had a Greek salad with a chicken breast brochette, which she loved. I had the filet mignon with portobello mushroom sauce. It was unbelievably tender and melt in the mouth good! The portion was large and we just enjoyed the left-overs this morning for breakfast with eggs. The vegetables were fresh and prepared perfectly. Chef Apostolis is excellent as is everything we experienced there. We will definitely visit again before we return to Canada.More
We currently live in the neighborhood and have been meaning try out this restaurant. We had an amazing gyro from “OPA” the restaurant next door and assumed because of the beautiful ambiance that the food might equate to being the same. WRONG! I was joined…by my family and a few that drove into town from Bucerias to have a nice dinner. We were greeted and sat down by a charming man, but soon after he mentioned that it would be him and another gentlemen waiting on us. The other man came with no form of hospitality and asked us “what we wanted” like rushing us. When my aunt was indecisive about an order instead of giving her recommendations, he huffed as if he was annoyed. This followed with him huffing all night- until he just disappeared. We asked for bread, that didn’t come out until our food was already served. My uncle asked for another coffee once his food arrived, that never came. I was wondering because we were multicultural (melanated) that we were being treated with a slight prejudice, other tables were being waited on, the chef even came out a few times to other tables to check on folks, didn’t say one word to us. In fact, looked at us and turned away. We had old dishes on our table from appetizers. We ended up stacking our places to show “hey we’re done” Mind you the place is pretty high compared to other places I’ve been to with more on their menu. I’ve never experienced such passive rudeness here in Vallarta especially at a place we’re spending OUR money at. All in all, the service was horrible, the food was mediocre, and I wouldn’t go again or recommend it. Especially a bummer because you never know who will dine in your establishment and how much of an impact they actually have.More
We made a reservation for 2 on a Friday night, we arrived at 6:30 p.m. and were greeted and seated promptly. The wine list is small (heavy on Mexican wines and some imports, I had the Chilean Cab Sauv, excellent but expensive 190 Pesos per…glass, had same at other places for much cheaper). My husband had a Pacifico beer. Service at first was most attentive, we ordered a drink and appetizers; the stuffed grape leaves were excellent (only 3 though, not enough we thought for the price, 4 would be better), and the Jtipiti dip and pitas were tasty. For our mains my husband ordered the fish in balsamic and garlic (it was excellent) and I the chicken kebab (good). When our server brought our meals we ordered two more drinks. We are slow eaters, our 2nd drinks never came before we finished our mains, just as we had the server showed up with our drinks, we waved them off…he understood. The place had filled up, and there was clearly not enough servers working. We asked for the bill and waited for 15 minutes, and then walked up to the bar to pay. We would have stayed and enjoyed the ambience and had dessert. We commented on the service, and were abruptly told…it happens, there were walk-ins as well as reservations. Why not turn people away if you don’t have staff to properly serve them we asked…no reply….. To our mind, it is better to have 30 happy customers then 50 not happy at all. Would suggest going on a week night…very friendly server we had, just run off his feet and the ambience is wonderful (twinkling lights, plants and the colours of Greece). Owner should limit tables if he does not have enough staff, but clearly did not. We stay in PV long-term and will not be coming back.More
Excellent food, Worst service. Won’t go back! We had to ask for our bill 3 times and then they told us cc machine didn’t work. Wanted us to transfer funds to another card????♀️
We came to Mykonos to start the year with one of our favorite meals (Greek Food) but as we tried… food wasn’t what we expected. Ordered some fish and lamb which were 5/10, super salty and impossible to bite the lamb. The pita bread was…good… kinda raw but we’ve tried better ones. Our waiter could have paid more attention to us instead of just walking around.More
Hidden in a little suburb of PV, we enjoyed an outstanding meal on the upstairs balcony, better than any Greek food we have had in Toronto. We were a part of 9 and we shared delicious apps, followed by the lemon fish and some had…the balsamic fish – all delicious. Delicious margaritas, baklava and Turkish coffee round out a perfect meal. The chef came to check we were all enjoying. A new addition to our list of fave PV restaurants. Highly recommend.More
My wife and I are big fans of Greek cuisine and have found many “pretty good” restaurants over the years, that was until we found Mykonos on November 27, 2021 in PV. Our entire experience exceeded all of our expectations. The service was timely and…friendly. We were really treated as guests. The owner came out and visited with us for several minutes and the server was friendly and offered great suggestions. Now for the food, off the charts!!! The calamari was some of the best we’ve ever had. The Dolmas were so good that we had to get a second order. The Greek salad and spanakopita were both wonderful . My wife had the shrimp skewer and I had the beef skewers, both were fabulous but had eaten so much by that point, we could not finish them. I highly, highly recommend this place. The neighborhood is really cool and it’s only a 10-15 minute cab ride from both the marina and the Malecon. Enjoy!More
