If you’re tired of Mexican or heavy food and crave sushi, I suppose you can eat here. However, what they give you is barely passable for sushi. With that said, you should be fine if you stick to the following nigiri: octopus, eel, scallops, salmon…and yellowtail. The scallops, eel and octopus were actually really good. The salmon was passable. They were out of yellowtail, but my guess is it’s passable too. Do not under any circumstances order rolls. We tried four different rolls and all were pretty bad.More

We want to stay close to our hotel; so we choose to eat at OOkii. We were not disappointed. The sushi was good, saki was good, service was fast, reasonable prices, the restaurant has nice decor.

Initially chose this Japanese restaurant because it’s included in Restaurant Week selections. Was pleased at the cleanliness of the restaurant as well as the quality of food included in their special menu. Being particularly discerning when it comes to sushi, I was very impressed!

Upscale little place in the Hotel 1 complex near Plaza Marina. Cute decor, very clean and fresh. Excellent California rolls and tuna maki. Interesting drink selection- I had the Japanese orange yogurt drink – so different! Refreshing and tart- loved it. Excellent service- friendly and…helpful servers. Definitely will return!More

Ookii Sushi is located in the Marina Vallarta area of Puerto Vallarta, and is in a nice building. The sushi and nigris taste great and the prices are excellent! Everything is made fresh and you can also ccreate your own Maki to your taste. Great…place for couples, family, and events. They also deliver which I really love! The hot dishes are also a favorite of mine. If Ooki was a Dish2Go restaurant they would be one of the most ordered places in Puerto Vallarta. But, I recommend going and also enjoying their specials on certain days of the week.More

Our first visit to this restaurant was unsure due to the fact my husband was not a sushi person but once the sushi started to go around he was hooked. The food was fresh and exciting due to the owner and her staff. We tried…a variety of different of maki rolls, california rolls, and assorted appetizers. It was so good we decided to take a few friends there, again we have some new sushi lovers! I want to thank the owner for accommodating one of our friends who is allergic to seafood and making sure he was seafood free. This restaurant is truly a restaurant that will be added to our list of favourites.More

We LOVE sushi and have tried it everywhere: New York, Maryland, Philadelphia, Colorado, Arizona, Florida, St. Maartin and now Mexico. We ate here for lunch mid week – big mistake for several reasons. A regular customer came in with two small children who took over…the entire place making a huge racket in the tiny interior space (outdoor seating is available). This ruined the atmosphere and no one seemed to care. The hand rolls were good but the “fusion” sushi was not impressive – mediocre at best. The service was average – had to ask for things several times and although there were only 2-3 customers, it took a LONG time to get served. Also, I wanted to order a “straight up” spicy tuna roll and they could not manage it. Traditional rolls are not on the menu. We enjoyed the sushi at Mikado much more where the atmosphere is sophisticated and customer appreciation is evident.More

My wife and I ate here last year, and couldn’t wait to come back this year. We frequent a lot of sushi restaurants back home, but none have the quality, innovation, and beautiful presentation of Ookii sushi. The tuna sashimi was wonderful (see photo) -…can’t remember the names of our other selections, but every one is a winnerMore
