Went to this small place for lunch. Nice quint spot. Seemed popular as half the tables were full. Service was quick and friendly. Ordered a lamb/beef gyro with French fries. Very good. The gyro was loaded with meat. Food was fresh and delicious. Wish the…gyro had a little more vegetables and a bit more garlic kick in the tzatziki. Wine & beer is offered here Prices were good. Will return.More
As we have friends that have recently purchased a condo in this area, we decided to walk the area with them early one evening…we had never hear of the neighborhood (versailles), but from the looks of it many people have from all of the new…development. We passed by Opa and at first we were not sure it was open…but a waiter noticed us sizing up the place and invited us in….I enjoyed what tasted and appeared to be house made gyro with lamb and beef, wife had a greek salad…friends shared some frys…they looked delicious . 2 of us had an ouzo and the others just water. Although the ouzo tasted great, it was obvious the waiter had no idea how it is normally served as he served it like it was a shot. We had to ask for ice and water…..All in all, if we were in the area, we would certainly try other items on their menu.More
First time eating at Opa…shared a grilled octopus with 3 large tentacles and it was perfectly cooked…not over done with great char flavour at 229 pesos. Also shared a falafel starter…4 balls and a little greens on the side for 99 pesos which for me,…erred on the pricier side for just average sized balls. For our main, the lamb gyro was excellent….homemade pita with such tender and flavourful lamb pieces smothered in tsaziki. My husbands gyro had way more lamb than mine. Son had a chicken gyro with ample chicken that was very tasty . The restaurant is small and cozy with only 7 tables and our server was super friendly, efficient, and obliging. I would not hesitate in returning to Opa for some very flavourful and tasty Greek food.More
We had an amazing meal of eggplant, shrimp, octopus, and a Greek salad. We also had sangria that was out of this world. The service was very friendly and efficient. Alexia was our server.
I had to return to my favourite Greek- outside of Greece- after my first dining experience (please see that review for details on the cuisine. I was so happy to have returned to such a friendly atmosphere, lovely service and beautiful food. Looking forward to…seeing them in the future!More
Wow I don’t usually comment on casual dinning places we go to because we eat out nearly everyday but we were cruising by after a Costco run and went in very hungry. Hummus was okay but normal for PV (even the Costco Hummus is just…okay here which is weird). We had chicken and beef/lamb gyros. I have not had that good of gyro ???? meat in A LONG time. It was better than many places IN Greece that I have been to. What are the odds? Had to say something here. Try it and let me know! Simply amazing!!More
Every trip to Vallarta, we find ourselves traveling a little of center of things and going to Opa. We have tried many things on their menu, but most frequently, one of us almost always has the Gyro and baba ganoush with fresh pita and if…you are an Ouzo lover, they serve a very good Ouzo. It is small restaurant on the street level (not to be confused with unrelated greek restaurant next door). The service at times when full can be a little slow…but it is NEVER a problem to obtain assistance or another drink while waiting.More
I read some reviews about bland or “not what they expected” but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Having ate food in Greece, I can tell you this is the closest to the real thing that you can get. The meat Dolmas were some…of the best Ive ever eaten. The tzatziki, Baba Ganoush and pita were as authentic as you can get.More
My husband and I dropped in for a late supper and were greeted warmly by our server. She was gracious with our lack of Spanish, and together we figured out our order without a hitch. Then we were wowed by the food. We were offered…a taste of olive tapenade to start (yum!), and then shared the octopus salad, which was amazing. The seafood was still tender and the salad was fresh and flavourful. When our entrees arrived, we found out that this chef knows how to cook meat. We both had the leg of lamb; the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and oh so delicious…it was hard not to inhale it. Side dishes (rice, potatoes, tzatziki and a wonderful jus) were perfect accompaniments. We will be back time and time again. Great food, friendly service, and the prices were easy on the wallet. Can’t wait to try more dishes!More
We have eaten at three different Greek restaurants and this is our favorite. We ate there 4 times while we were in Puerto Vallarta and are really looking forward to next year so we can eat there several times.
Delicious lamb and tapenade. Spotless kitchen and eating area. I am so happy to have great Greek so nearby.
Tell your truth very good The pizza was homemade and it was incredible Tiziski sauce was very flavorful The meat was perfectly done We totally enjoyed our lunch Definitely we will recommend definitely will come back
This spot has high ratings so I expected it to be super great but was disappointed. The babaganush was bland, pita was flavorless and the the gyro was tiny. I did really like the greek salad however if you hope for actual feta be prepared…to be be disappointed. It wasn’t terrible, like I still ate it, I just wouldn’t order from here again. Maybe there are better items on the menu?More
My Lady and I passed by for some takeout. Gyros were delicious! I’ll definitely stop by for another. It was my first gyro ???? thank you!
Great Giovanni, we hope see you soon.
Good little spot. Pretty small, but open air. They could use a fan inside during COVID! Good food, decent wine. Nice people
Thank you, Randy, we really appreciated your comments, we hope to see you again soon 🙂
