A little hidden but worth finding. Very Mexican vibe with Mexican prices (not gringoized). Margaritas are good and strong and the bacon wrapped shrimp tacos are the bomb.

Right next door to Cuale Condos (also 5 star) this family run restaurant is excellent. My wife had an octopus cerviche tostado and a squid tacho. Excellent. I had the mixed seafood soup. Now I cook this myself and I would be proud if I…cooked this soup base. Superb. Highly recommended. TrulyMore

Was lead to this place on a tacos101 seafood tour! When I say they have the best bacon wrapped shrimp tacos IT IS THE TRUTH. I don’t really care for shrimp, but wrap these babies in bacon, grill, and stuff with a cheese filled taco,…then fry ….HEAVEN on my plate! Under 35 pesos each! We also took out catch from a fishing trip and they turned it into a feast!!More

We had the shrimp tacos and lime margaritas. The tacos were best tasting shrimp tacos in PV. The shrimp was grilled to perfection. Margaritas were very good and had some umph to them. Great service and price. Definitely going back.

Just off the main road a block, this small restaurant features wonderful seafood, including our favorite, the Shrimp Tacos…These have bacon wrapped shrimp inside a fresh tortilla…2 is a snack, 3 is a meal… Friendly service from Elaina and true Mexican ambiance!

This a totally Mexican restaurant. I can’t stress enough how much we loved these tacos! 35 pesos per bacon wrapped shrimp taco. Did I mention how very good they are! Very casual. Plastic chairs …. look dirty but it’s dirt from years and does not…come off on clothes. We will be back, probably next week!More

I live not far from Pajaritos and frequent this authentic family run restaurant often. Nothing fancy and not touristy and in a neighborhood not too far off the beaten path. They serve real Margaritas, no bottled mix or syrups, just good strong tequila, lime and…Cointreau. They are quite strong and delicious and my limit is one. Prices are more than fair for what you receive. This is a seafood restaurant and the food is always fresh and tasty. The shrimp tacos are different than what you might be used to and are truly delicious. Grilled shrimp, pepper and bacon on a bit of melted cheese within a fresh corn tortilla. Sometimes they have mussels and I really enjoy them with garlic and guajillo chile, but you can have them prepared as you like. Not much English spoken here as this is a true local’s restaurant, but if you don’t speak Spanish you should be able to get by. They close at 8:00pm. If you are looking for a non-touristy seafood restaurant I recommend you try Pajaritos, it’s an easy walk or Uber ride from the malecon and Isla Cuale not far from the Emiliano Zapata Municipal Market. Insider tip…if you are at Pajaritos at 7:00pm you can go next door and get fresh bolillo bread at the “secret” bakery Panaderia Villasenor. This bakery usually sells to restaurants but if you happen to be there at 7:00pm they will let you buy some of the bread HOT and straight from the woodfired oven. Nice people with amazing bolillo made by hand the old fashioned way. Swing by one of the corner stores and buy some La Lechera sweetened condensed milk and you have a wonderful dessert.More

I used to live right around the corner from this place and ate here about once a week. While they have a full seafood menu, the signature item is the shrimp tacos. They skewer three medium shrimp with onion and pepper and wrap them in…bacon, grill them up and put them in a warm tortilla with just a bit of melty cheese. 2-3 of those and a cold beer is about the best lunch you can get for what you’re paying. The staff is friendly (not a ton of English though, so don’t be a jerk), and there’s ample seating in the restaurant and their little courtyard in the back. Take a right on your way out, up the little stone stairs and go along the river walk on your way back to the busy part of town.More

I have had several meals here in the past two years. I never had a shrimp taco. OMG what an experience! A red snapper meal a few weeks ago was very good also. Located a slow 15 minute walkup Aquiles Serdan in Romantic Zone (Emelano…Zapata for locals) or south side if River Quale. This is a local neighborhood so kids and dogs and real Mexican experience.More

We’ve walked by here several times but we’re thrilled when our local real estate agent suggested it for lunch. We started with agua Fresca, which was tamarinds the day we visited. Super good and they brought a pitcher to our table for refills. I also…had a couple of cold Pacifico beers. All 4 of us had the same thing for lunch: one fish and one shrimp taco. They were preceded by a bean taco served with 2 salsas which were tasty–the “rat tail chile salsa” was hot and flavorful. My only warning is the seafood on the tacos is wrapped in bacon, which I don’t eat. I just picked off the bacon and they were still yummy, but if you don’t eat it yo should mention it beforehand. (It was not described on the menu). Service was great and lunch for 4 was 380 pesos with the agua Fresca and beers. Fantastic deal!!More

This could be one of the highlights of your dining in Puerto Vallarta but you are unlikely to stumble across it if you don’t know where you are going, though it is not far nor hard to find. Pajaritos is about a kilometer east (walking…away from the water) off the Malecon. You can walk up Francisco Madero or Aquiles Serdan. It is just past Calle Naranjo on Camichin (turn towards the Rio Cuale), about 100 meters to your left but it is on neither of my tourist maps. There is an outdoor/indoor bar area, a dining room section and a garden section at the back – our favourite. It’s a seafood menu and they are open from 1:00PM-ish until 6 or 7. The meal begins with jicama sprinkled with paprika followed by ‘Mexican caviar’ (fried beans in a grilled taco) all present by Balta (aka, James Bond). He’s the head waiter (except Mondays), mixologist/bartender, and front grill chef! Over the years we’ve tried most everything. My first choice is the Sea Food Soup – a very delicious and filling bowl of mussels, octopus, shrimp and white fish (typically served with a crab which I decline because of the extra work!) Another favourite is whole crispy fried fish – usually red snapper; plenty for two for a lunch snack. They serve a fillet of fish (usually mahi mahi) as well as shrimp in a half dozen preparations all served with steamed vegetable and rice. Tacos and Tostadas with a variety of sea foods are also available. They have a descent house white wine and an excellent, consistent margarita. While this may not be ‘gourmet’, it is superb, good food at an excellent price, accommodating service in a wonderful atmosphere – earns every one of its 5 stars!More

We came across this great little restaurant, by chance and glad we did …. in all we visited it three times, all at lunch time. On Thursdays they have their lunch special…. 2 margaritas and one shrimp taco or 1 margarita and 2 shrimp tacos…….for 80 pesos. The tacos are the best ever and the margaritas are pretty darn decent too! This is a family run restaurant, and the owners are very good at what they do and are efficient and friendly. The premises are quaint…. there are stools on the side walk where you can sit and enjoy a cold one, an inside covered area adjacent to the kitchen, and an open patio area at the back. This is a very pleasant little restaurant, offering excellent food choices, at very reasonable prices, in a great environment.More
