A nostalgic return to a restaurant we used to go to 12 years ago. Mauricios set the standard ,and was much copied. The original is still going but not as busy. However, our visit was great , food was great ,service ,excellent, and the staff…could do enough to please us.More
Mauricio’s has become our new favourite restaurant in the whole area. It’s a total package of quality food, good service, atmosphere and value. We ate there this past week. My husband and I shared the ribs and with all the rice and salad included, we…even had leftovers. The ribs were outstanding and the salad was also creatively made. As is their custom, they start you with a cup of seafood broth and end with a dessert and complimentary drink. We had delicious fried bananas and a kahlua and milk. It should be pointed out that Maurcio’s is a big open air palapa with lots of spread-out seating. Tons of parking, buses just and very handicap friendly. We also ordered two limonadas and the bill came to 212 pesos! For a delicious full mealMore
Don’t let the looks fool you They almost did to me We.took a can there and we almost didn’t go in But once we did we were.so happy Don’t order the lobster or fish Here as the time of the season it may be.frozen but…the.octopus in pina was to die for Also the fresh seafood platter was so fresh Shrimp on the beer Free tequila Oh man we didn’t want to leave Fried breaded shrimp was awesome The bill came and we all laughed 5.people not even 50 us dollars…. We LL be backMore
Our Hampton Inn hostess recommended this place to my granddaughter and I as “authentic” and, in my opinion, it was. Very happy with their chille rellenos. Don’t let the “average” appearance of the outside dissuade you – the inside is very nicely furnished & decorated,…and more importantly, the food is great and reasonably priced.More
My wife and I tried this cool place for lunch. It´s located just behind the Home Depot as is obviously what we would call a ´family Mexican´restaurant. The place is quite large and is open to the fresh air. All Covid Protocols were being followed…when we visited. My wife ordered a fish filet done on the grill and I ordered the shrimp and filet combo. To share we started with their delicious Guacamole and a jar of lightly sweetened lemonade, which was thirst quenchingly delicious. Service was very good…although we must say that it is best to be clear about ordering and be ready to hail for more service. We recommend Mauricio´s for a casual Saturday or Sunday lunch treat…you will not be disappointed.More
The worst worst Seafood Restaurant Mauricio’s whole Puerto Vallarta México. I order combo 5 the fish doesn’t have any meat only bones, the rice is very bad and rice doesn’t any taste. Also combo 4 ,the lobster taste horrible and the fish have rubbery texture…and the fish taste horrible. I have the first time at Restaurant Mauricio’s, I disappointed this restaurant. I don’t recommend this restaurant Mauricio’s any one.More
Mostly locals there which tells you something. I had the ribs. Portions were quite big. I do not recommend the ribs as they were very tough and quite fatty. Stick to the fish. My wife had a mixed plate of ribs, shrimp and fish. Her…fish was overdone. The beers are those mini bottles, approximately 200ml, just so you are aware. If you do go you can take the Ixtapa bus from Centro and get off at Home Depot. It is just around the corner.More
We are very grateful for your comments, our BBQ ribs are already a tradition, unfortunately we believe that we have to work more with our supplier in order to have the same product for you, we wait for you again.
We were given na recommendation to eat seafood at this location. It is a traditional seafood restaurante near the beach as in many parts of Mexico. Great service upon arrival, besides a hearty welcome they gave us chips, and offer drinks right away. The menu…is extensive, and the view of the open kitchen opens the apetiite to anything they offer, outstanding service, provides all guests with a taste and appetezier portion of warm shrimp soup, plenty of chips and salsa throughout. It is a family business so Mauricio (owner) introduce himself and invited tequila shots at the end of our stay. Highly recommended for solo, couples or a large party.More
We are very grateful for your comments and we are very happy that your experience in Mauricio´s has been very satisfactory for you, this is your home and we are waiting for you again.
Food was okay. We had a gift certificate which I gave to them before the meal. They said okay we could use it. After the meal they said the certificate was over two months old and could not be used. I showed the envelope it…was in which said “no expiration, left a tip and walked out. They obviously thought they could get away with taking advantage of me. So, beware of using gift certificates. This was given by them to a charity, so they obviously felt they could get away without giving a free meal.More
Gracias por su comentario, pondremos atención en los certificados.
This is what is called a true “comida” restaurant where many courses are served and is almost an event. It starts with a warm welcome and seating. Then you are brought a tasty fish broth. Fresh made ceviche ( marlin is my favourite) while you…peruse the menu. Order a special Michelada that comes with shrimp on the side ( beer and tomatoe, well seasoned). The ribs are slow grilled in home made sauce. The shrimp salad is incredible. The Cucci Cucci shrimp is a favourite and the Sarandeado grilled fish is the standard to which all other is judged. After you manage the entire meal, fried plantains with glazing is served warm and a short Kalua and milk is served to finish the meal. Tequila shots are poured freely upon request and has elevated the spirit of many tables!More
Your comments described our dishes in the best way, it is a pleasure to know that you like our processes, service and quality, we wait for you again. Thank you!
Full disclosure, we love Mauricio’s. It seems odd writing a glowing 5 star review about a place that isn’t fancy and doesn’t serve pretentious food yet Mauricio’s works on so many levels that it deserves all the stars. It is an off the beaten track…truly Mexican Restaurant. You will find it a little north of the airport near Home Depot. It’s an easy cab ride and well worth it. Due to the location it doesn’t get a lot of tourists…..their loss. In 2 recent visits we were the only expats there yet they treat us like family and the service and ambience couldn’t be friendlier. We usually have seafood, often combos and it is terrific. Recently I had a need to feed on ribs and they were great. Do yourselves a favour and seek out this terrific spot and soak up some true Mexican ambience.More
Thank you very much, your comments we extend to our collaborators who always strive to give the best in service to you. It is very praiseworthy to qualify us with the 5 stars, and of course you are from the Mauricio’s family.
We had shrimp 3 ways and lobster, fish & shrimp. The fish was probably my least favourite, while all 3 of the shrimp were delicious. From start to finish, the staff bring you many extras. Definitely worth a visit.
We are grateful with your comments and how good you liked our shrimp dish, we have a dish of fried fish and shrimp delecioso, we hope that on your next visit you can taste it.
Great local spot for ribs and seafood. Service is great and the food always delicious. They bring you lots of extra items too… soup, dessert, shot of Kailua and shot of tequila. Always a great place to stop! Go early though cause they do run…out of ribs later in the evening.More
Thank you very much for your comments and rating, we always strive to give you something more and have a nice afternoon with us, we wait for you again!
Order a beer with a large shrimp on top of the can. Or a whole red snapper hanging over on both sides of the plate. The lobster I ate was sweet and grilled nicely, the garlic shrimp and fish was delicious. Starter course is a…nice fish spread with veggies. A fried banana finished the meal nicely and a shot of coffee liqueur. Not a fancy place at all – but a favorite with the locals!More
Good morning, we appreciate your comments and rating, our purpose is always to give you the best, both the people who live in Vallarta and our visitors, we wait again.
699/5000 We were greeted with a smile, they quickly assigned us a table, the waitress offered us a broth of shrimp as a starter, I ate some coconut shrimp and asked to place sauce diabla aside, when the mixtures created a sweet-spicy flavor that when…combined with shrimp They form a different experience. When we finished we were offered baked bananas with sweet sauce accompanied with coffee liqueur, they make a spectacular closing. As a drink you can order a jug of cucumber water that goes well with spicy foods and relax your palate. For the boys I recommend the shrimp popcorn, they are small pieces of breaded shrimp accompanied by a sweet sauce, they will eat it without hesitation …
