My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant many years. It is our very favorite in all of PV. Service is outstanding. Daniel, the waiter, treats us like family and has now become our friend. He has worked there a very long time…and speaks perfect English. Last year, we wanted to have a surprise birthday party for one of our friends. We called Daniel and he arranged everything – even the beautiful cake. What fun we had! The food is excellent and the margaritas just cannot be beat! Joe and Kay Fragale, Bluffton SC, USAMore

We are in Puerto Vallarta for 2 months and stopped here on our first night for a margarita and some apps ( guac and chips and salsa). We had our small dog with us and we were readily accommodated on the second story balcony. Our…waiter was very attentive and welcoming and took time to talk with us about living in PV. He brought water for our dog and gave us some “insider tips” about living here. Will definitely go back.More

I was walking back to my Airbnb and was hungry so decided to stop here as someone had mentioned they had great guacamole. So, I sat down upstairs on the open-air porch and I was the ONLY person there at 7:00 p.m. I ordered a…glass of Chardonnay. They did not have any. Strike one! So, I said, “well, bring me a margarita then”. Wow!! I’m glad they didn’t have Chardonnay because that forced me to have one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had anywhere! Then the waiter brought me their guacamole and I think it was made right when I ordered it. So fresh! I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. Both the margarita and guacamole were fabulous. I was too full to order anything else but I will go back if this is any indication! And…my bill for both? $7USD!! Unbelievable.More

Finally made it in and up the stairs to try this place. Spacious patio style restaurant. Service was quick throughout. Beers were extremely cold. Margaritas were good. Chips, salsa and guacamole provided. Very good. We both ordered Garlic Fish. Also very good. Will be on…our list for repeated visits!More

Dropped in to this comfortable little place twice in the summer and thoroughly enjoyed their fresh seafood salad and their shrimp salads. We also had the best lemonade in the bay (sweet or unsweetened) and also their margaritas, which are small but reasonably price and…very very tasty. We ordered with ice. This restaurant has an upstairs area which is the main seating area…and has very cool views of the streets around.More

My husband and I went for dinner. I love the guacamole at this restaurant and they did not disappoint tonight. We also shared the beef fajitas. Portions are not as Large as they used to be, but still ample. The fajitas were fresh and delicious….Daniel, the waiter took very good care of us. We were offered an after dinner drink on the house. The eggnog was delicious.More

We have been coming here for years. The welcome is always very warm and friendly. The food is simply prepared, very fresh, and excellent. The fish and shrimp are delicious. The prices are good (pay in cash only). The San Lucas makes the best flan…we have ever had. Service is attentive and prompt but you are never rushed, which is starting to happen in some PV restaurants, which is perhaps due to catering to American tourists for whom speed is an expectation. We were surprised to be handed the bill at the end of our lunch at Café de Olla a few years ago. This is definitely not the normal custom in Mexico, where the customer asks for the bill when he or she wants it. It made us feel as if the restaurant wanted to rush us out the door and we have not been back since. At the end of your meal at the San Lucas, Daniel or Antonio will roll out the drinks cart for a complimentary shot of liquor. I usually have tequila but the rompope, a traditional Mexican drink, is also good. There are lots of buses that stop across the street. For people staying in the Marina area this is the terminus for the Marina bus–very handy. There is also a taxi stand across the street. The restaurant is beside Farmacia Guadalajara, which has a very reliable bank machine inside. The San Lucas is a good spot for a relaxed meal if you are exploring the many interesting shops in the area. Enjoy!More

For many years, my friends and I have made this a required dinner stop for one or two nights of our weekly trip to Puerto Vallarta. Daniel greets us like old friends. The meal always starts with great margaritas and guacamole. We consistently order the…fresh fish or shrimp. Have not found any better in Vallarta. Last week’s fresh mahi was OUTSTANDING. My favorite preparation is ajo (garlic). The open air, second floor location gives you a view of the active street scene outside. Last, but not least….the prices are very reasonable.More

This is the First Place we tried on our 1st visit to PV 17 years ago, and also our Go-To spot when we are in town. We recommend San Lucas to everybody we know and everyone meet! Consistent Quality, Freshness and Customer Service are the…key to our longstanding relationship. I really don’t understand why they are not more crowded?! The Best thing on the Menu without a doubt: Baja Style Shrimp (formerly called “Estilo Perito”, now “Baja Style Shrimp” on the current menu). This is just wonderful and enough to share; especially if you have an appetizer before your meal. Preparation: Sautéed Shrimp, Mushrooms, Garlic & Onion topped with Crispy Bacon & Cheese served with warm Tortillas & a Whole Sautéed Serrano Chili on the side. Best Appetizer on the Menu: Smoked Marlin Tostada – I have had Smoked Marlin all over Baja and PV as well; this is The Best Bar None!! Piled high on a Crispy Tostada – I usually add a few drops of Red Habanero Sauce that is provided on every table. We visit San Lucas at least 3 or 4 times on our annual pilgrimage to PV – Don’t miss this one!More

My wife and I live in PV and this is one of our go-to restaurants. The server Daniel has been there forever and the service is great. Food is always fresh and tasty and one of the better values in PV. Not to mention is…kind of cool to sit up on the open air 2nd floor and watch the life of PV go by on the street below.More
