For many years I have come to PV. Steve’s was the place where you could see Canadians in hockey jersey’s watching hockey games. US Football etc.It was a true SPORTS bar that also served as meeting place for expats. It is now a pillow and…linen store. RIP Steve’s. I will miss walking by or buying a COLD beer while waiting for a bus or taxi. I rated this average so I could post this but this place is CLOSED.More
Horrible place. Sticky tables…yuk. Dirty, old, tattered menus. Loud, barking dog IN the restaurant. $10.50 for fish and chips. Asked for tartar sauce…NO TARTAR SAUCE. How do you not have tartar sauce in an American centric bar/restaurant? Didn’t eat a bite. Had it wrapped for…take out. It was bad. I feel like I just lit a $10 bill on fire. Stay away.More
Went to bar to watch football games…..they had issues with sattelite or something and the tv kept going blank…last time I was there they blamed it on the rain, this time dunno what the issue was. Had a chalkboard with specials on it, including salsbury…steak. Was not busy, but still took almost a half an hour for food to arrive. Server brought plate over, and I was like…this is it? There was maybe an ounce of mashed potatoes, and the steak itself was maybe 4 ounces at best….I am not a big eater, but I finished it in about 6 bites and left hungry. Went across the street and ordered some tacos. Food tasted fine, but there was so little of it it was hard to say. Price including a coke was 200 pesos….yikes! People were friendly, but maybe they ought to keep pets out, as there was a dog there that was super not friendly, and growled and barked at anybody that got close to it. Would I go back? Not sure.More
I went for the first time after having lived in PV for a year now and I wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to try this place. Steve’s is WAY better than El Torito for watching football and the food is so much better…and cheaper. They had a good menu and they must have had 10 specials when I went. Friendly staff too (Isabella is great). Enough tv’s to show ALL the NFL games without conflict unlike El Torito which can only show 4 at a time. The owner is very nice (so is Monroe, her pup!) and when you are there it feels like you have been going to the place for years. Highly recommend for all sporting events.More
Been going to Steve’s 19 years, that’s before Carla bought the bar. Carla is a sweetie but, the bar has gone downhill big time! Same furniture from 19 years ago, newer TVs some updating in the washrooms. The service, food and prices not worth it!…Its really sad, it used to be a good place to go, its a bit of a dump now. It was one of the first places we would go when we come down, not now. Won’t go back anymore.More
Just keep walking by as we saw many do. Went in as many highly recommend Steve’s. Welcomed nicely and told that wherever we sit, they will play the Flames game. We came in on the bus over 25 minutes just to see game and check…out the “great bar”. Sat down and ordered a beer. Decor was really rough. Watched the last few minutes of one game. Server came over and asked us what game we were there to watch. Told him and he proceeded to put the MMA fight on. We moved to another tv and they changed that one too. We moved again to only one they would play the game on and was nautious from watching squiggly lines. The manager said she had to show the fights to bring people in. As soon as channels were changed to the fights, the place cleared out. We ordered chips and salsa. Meat was grey and way over spiced. Make sure you order exactly what you want and point it out. They will mess that up too. Only positive I can say is that they corrected the food order mix up. But I would not return. Manager just sits at bar and eats/drinks with patrons. It’s no wonder the place is seriously out dated and bathrooms are worse that many beachside bar bathrooms. Terrible! She doesn’t care. Only watched one period and left.More
Went here to watch the Edmonton Oilers last week. First TV flickering all the time. Table was right under TV. So neck was sore. Moved to another TV when another game finished. Was much more comfortable. Beer was cold and service good. My brother ordered…fish. Was good but expensive and very small portion. Not my first choice for a sports bar but will do when you’re favorite is full. Cheers GregMore
Thank you for having the Ohio State Michigan game on last Saturday! We really enjoyed watching it with you. The beer was cold, the food was good, and what a great game! Great to meet so many Ohio State fans in PV!
Love Steve’s! The owners and the whole staff are friendly and this is the best place in town for the Stanley Cup playoffs. (Even if my team bombed out early). There’s poutine on the menu, a fun crowd, all the sports, and it’s on one…of the most fun streets in all of Puerto Vallarta (Basillio Badillo). Try it!More
With so much to choose from in PV it is sometimes hard to compete. If you go somewhere and it is not quite up to the standards you’ve experienced, it’s hard to return to spend your dollars. Food is average and pricey for the quality….Seemed understaffed.More
This is a Canadian Style Sports Bar with Hockey, Curling, Baseball, Football, Futball on the TV and really cold beer. Friendly staff and vibe, always feel welcome when I walk in!
Been there several times in the past, but won’t be back. Ordered a hamburger and it took over 40 minutes. I understand relaxed, but there were only a few others in the bar. I have nothing to base it on – but I felt like…they were hustling the beer and stalling the food in order to sell more beer. The burger was small, the fries were great, but the kicker was the ketchup; so watered down I thought it was tomato soup.More
We got to watch our team lose here but the food was good and the staff was very attentive! Loved the open windows. Tons stopped outside to check out score as they strolled by! Tacos and nachos were very good! Bonus the bus stop was…right out front!More
Stumbled upon this gem, and so glad we did. Food great, service amazing! Sat and watched the hockey game while we ate.
Excellent choice for margaritas and tequila. Reasonable prices. The food is average and what you would expect from a sports bar. They cannot accommodate celiacs.
