The owner Bruce meant us and treated us like family. All meals where made to order and where explained very well. You could add or subtract from the preparation as you liked. Multiple courses. Salad soup main desert. Excellent salads. Nice creamy soup. Huge main…course. I had rib eye and my girlfriend shrimp. Both perfect. And wait tell you see the deserts like a French bakery. Thanks for great meal and company bruceMore

We had an absolutely wonderful evening. Bruce is a terrific chef who has created an excellent concept. Every course was both a surprise and a delight. We were looking for something special to celebrate my birthday and Teatro Limon did not disappoint. A great find….We’ll most certainly return!More

I can’t say enough good things about the surprise we got when dining here. First off the attention to your likes and dislikes stand out from other dining establishments in the way Bruce asks you when you call what you have allergies to and what…you like in the way of meat or fish and the cuts you like best. This restaurant has no fixed menu so you get a dinner served in 5 courses with absolutely the freshest ingredients available that day. The chef allows you to watch them cooking in the open concept kitchen. Bruce will make sure you have the wine or cocktails that you like, as he will ask you at the time of reservation. The meat was cooked to perfection and the soup was also lovely. This is not the least expensive place to eat by any means but is worth every dollar spent. The service by his long term staff is as good as it gets. Bruce is very accommodating and speaks English as it is his mother tongue. Will definitely be back.More

Don’t know where this last review is coming from, but they would definitely benefit from spell check!!! Our meal at Teatro Limon was one of the best and we’ve eaten around the world. Our host, Bruce, called us to ensure that his Chef’s plate would…be just to our liking and it exceeded our expectations, right down to the single malt he bought just for us! We couldn’t ask for a more attentive host or better service. Yes, we were the only customers, my husband and I. The reservation was to ensure they were ready for us when we arrived and the food was to our liking. Our white asparagus soup was delicate, with tuffle oil and smoked boar bits. A wonderful start. The salad was light and flavorful with strawberries, figs and a lemon dressing. The appetizer was sublime; 5 thin slices of smoked boar – so flavorful and melt in your mouth, marinated artichoke, goat cheese and the most tender shredded duck with a swath of raspberry strawberry compote with drops of balsamic. Then the main course!!!! We were invited to the grill to watch. Bruce seared the mini sweet peppers to perfection – so flavorful! The mushrooms were cooked in the ostrich leavings, with just a touch of crunch, as were the potatoes and carrots. The ostrich, OMG!! rare, juicy, seared on the outside, sweet and amazing! There was no room to eat all of it so we were able to bring home reminders to relive how wonderful this meal was. We will absolutely be going back and highly recommend this unique and personal experience!!! True, it was not cheap, but neither was the meal. Environment? Surely not romantic, but totally eclipsed by the service, attention and food. A true experience.More

While on our honeymoon we were so very lucky to have found this very unique and special restaurant. Bruce and Julia were wonderful hosts. And YaYa makes a wicked margarita . A full 3 course meal – appetizer, soup and the main entree . Everything…was delicious and beautifully presented. The chef has amazing skill, you will not be disappointed! Potato and Leek soup with bacon was excellent. Our appetizers were pieces of art and delicious. Steaks were very good and cooked to perfection. Don’t miss this place, you’ll leave with a smile and you won’t need to stop for Carl J’s on the way home. Thanks for having us Bruce and Julia- see you next visit!More

What a find!!!! While trying to find out what restaurant had opened in the location of the former Vista Grill, I was redirected to the Butcher and Chef website. Oh happy accident! This is a not just dining, it is experience. After a few pointed…questions from the owner and chef Bruce Byng, (a familiar face/name in the PV restaurant scene) the food and wine was chosen for us. Brilliant concept and what a way to discover new flavors and tastes! I would recommend everything that was placed before us, from the broccoli soup and the beet salad, to the scallop appetizer. But wait, there’s more!! Then we were served the tremendous trout, beautiful boar shank, or the fabulous filet, cooked to perfection, sharing encouraged. Then don’t forget Julia’s fun desserts, which paired perfectly with your entire meal. Thank you Julia, Bruce and Yaya, et al, for a fabulous evening. Never have I been so well read in regards to my tastes, never have I been so catered to and never have I talked about a meal as much as I have talked about yours!! And lastly, never have I looked forward to returning to a dining experience as I have to our upcoming evening this very night. See you soon!! L&L&DMore

We had a discussion with Bruce about what we don’t like and he prepared a wonderful 4 course meal. I am not a fan of duck but the appetizer he made me was smoked duck and it was terrific. The main course was Bison and…ostrich (I would never have ordered either one) and they were tremendous. My wife had the rack of lamb and couldn’t stop talking about how great it was. The staff and service were top notch and I hope to be back again soon. Tom & Dorothy from Oakville Ontario.More

Fantastic experience – highly recommend! We took an Uber to the restaurant – it seems like you’re going into the middle of nowhere but then you arrive and are greeted by an amazing staff. Bruce, Julia, Yaya and Kimberly took care of every detail -…great drinks and wines, and amazing food. We had squash soup, beet or bleu cheese salad, shrimp or scallop starter, boar or ostrich entrees and great desserts. All were fantastic! Definitely a must in PVR!More

This is a small chef-table restaurant with every meal prepared to individual taste. Chef Bruce asked about allergies and preferences and creates magic with his staff. Meats are specialty sourced and truly top quality. An excellent wine selection enhances the meal. Julia prepares amazing desserts….We had a meal where salads and entrees were all different, and a surprise for each of us. We went back and all were the same, but exceptional. Definitely plan to go back again. Enjoyed the personalized attention and opportunity to get to know the owners.More

The Butcher and Chef is truly a unique dining experience. The kitchen and restaurant are in the owner’s home, so a little off the beaten track, but an Uber and cab will find it no problema. The owner/chef has been cooking in PV, and around…the world for many years: his knowledge of food really shows. The dining area is a perfect size, and the open kitchen is unobtrusive. You can watch the staff prepare your meal or not. The space is beautifully decorated, and feels more like a home than a restaurant – which of course it is. Super comfortable chairs. I think it can hold around 120. This was a 40th birthday celebration for our son. He was only in town for a few days, and there was only one night we could all make it. En route to the restaurant Google maps informed me the restaurant is closed on Mondays. Yikes! Turns out Bruce opened just for us. Considering he’s having over 100 for the festive diners this was very kind of him. Eating here starts with a chat with Bruce so he can explain the entrees, check for allergies, and any dislikes. The name of the restaurant is a hint that it’s meat focused, but seafood is offered too. Ribeye, New York, Lamb, Boar, Salmon and Trout – others I can’t. Can choose three or five courses for a ser price. We all had five, and the portions were a perfect size. Small bowl of soup, beautiful salads, great little shrimp dish, the entree and fabulous desserts. I had lamb shank – so tender fall of the bone. others had trout and rib-eye. And a special dessert for the birthday boy. He lives in Montreal and is a real foodie. So it was important to find something different for him. He loved it, and said it could stand beside Montreal’s best. Top shelf liquor, from a huge bar, and great personalized, but unobtrusive service from Bruce and his staff. Well worth a visit.More

This was easily one of the best meals I’ve ever enjoyed. We had the 5 course chef’s menu. Bruce is a gracious host and provides a welcoming and unpretentious atmosphere. After going over likes and dislikes, he assembled an absolutely perfect meal for us. You…can taste the quality ingredients that go into each dish. The smoked duck breast was a personal highlight for me, though the ostrich filet mignon was pretty amazing, too. Unlike many high end restaurants, you will not leave hungry. Service was beyond impeccable. No detail is overlooked in making you feel comfortable and relaxed.More
