It’s like walking into your friends living room. You’re always welcome and greeted with a smile. Great prices on drinks and food. Live bands every day. If you’re looking to get away from the tourist traps on or near the malecón I’d suggest popping by.

We ordered grilled cheese and fries and soft drinks. They took ages to arrive but the fries were obviously home made and were lovely. Don’t go here if you are pushed for time!

I was actually heading to another restaurant for dinner when I noticed the patio diners having a steak dinner. I stopped dead in my tracks and the owner, Claudette, a fellow Canadian, asked if I wanted something to eat. I said: I want steak!!! I…sat at the counter at the open window and watched PV go by, a friendly cat on the chair nearby and a delightful dog waiting for me to drop a piece of steak – which I did for him. It had to be over 16 ounces and was perfectly (med-rare) cooked. It came with a very large baked potato with butter and sour cream and a dressed mixed salad. In my day, I could have put it all away, but I ended up taking half of it home with me. Service was friendly and prompt. I was advised that steaks are the Saturday special, and they run out frequently. You can reserve online or arrive early. Definitely a Saturday destination. Brining friends next time.More

Good home cooking food. Wings and chill dog were good. Simple comfort food. Next time, I’d like to try a steak which I hear is really good.

We’ve been here several times this trip, always for lunch, once for Happy Hour to hear a band. It has about 4 small tables out on the sidewalk and bar seating and tables inside. It’s in an old building so if you’re looking for “fancy”…this isn’t it. Instead it’s lively with conversation and has a welcoming staff. So far we’ve tried the chili dog with hand-cut fries, very good, the wings, great, the hamburger with cheese and bacon (also with a good portion of fries). The hamburger is my favorite when I need a break from Mexican food. The French Onion soup isn’t the type that comes in a crock bowl. It’s in a wide soup bowl and topped with bread and cheese. It didn’t seem “broiled” on top, but had a good flavor. The chicken fajitas were very good but needed pico–probably should have asked. How could we visit a place so often? Well, we’re here 6 weeks, the prices are great and the staff is attentive. Shout out to Yolanda, she’s a great , amiable server!More

Had the T-Bone steak yesterday, it was spectacular and far exceeded my expectations!!!! Perfectly cooked (med rare), and melt in your mouth tender. Also, the portion was so large, I could only eat half of it. OMG, it was almost orgasmic, by far the best…meal I’ve had here in 2+ months, I’m 100% serious and am not exaggerating. At $275 mxn it’s INCREDIBLE value. Back home in Winnipeg Canada, a comparable steak would cost $600 – $1,000 mxn. As such, I’ll be dining on this at least 2x/month.More

We have been here many times. The Salty Caesar is owned by a couple of Canadians and it caters mostly to Canadians and Americans My friend says the bar scene reminds him of the bar scene in Star Wars ???? Same faces, night after night,…kinda like Cheers, but a little crusty. Theres usually someone totally blitzed, slammiñg shots, which is always good entertainment. They have a special every night. Tonight is T-bone steak with baked potato and salad for 250 pesos. The food is ALWAYS good. The prices are decent. The service however, usually is slow. I’m told the waitress whos usually here, is the daughter of the owner. She’s always quick with a charming smile. All in all, we enjoyMore

This is a very causal restaurant and bar. Lots of expats come here to socialize and have food and drinks. I thought I would give this a try for lunch. I tried a shrimp plate. This turned out to be pretty good and I would…probably order this again when in the area. I tried the eggs and bacon a week later and this also was good. If you like causal atmosphere and decent food this might be a place to hang out. They also have live music a few days a week.More

We have been in PV 10 days days now, we have tried wings at everyplace 6+, salty ceasars has had the best and biggest wings by far. (Best pizza by far is Los Muertos ) if you want wings come here ????We walked 6 blocks…today to try out the breakfast and my wife said their Mexican omelette had been maybe the best thing she had ate all week and we have been eating at the 5* trip advisors best places. It definitely is not fancy but the food is very good and Claudette and Miguel are an amazing staff. Best wishes. Also our favorite (*high end restaurant is martini de fuego) cannot go wrong with anything on there menu. Old town PV is just awesome with great people everywhere!!! Travis and Jessica.More

I’ve had many excellent meals at this restaurant, usually filled with xpats from here and there. Drinks are good, prices are responsible. Occasionally a little understaffed which can cause some slow service, but the food makes up for it.
