Ok, I know it’s on the 3rd floor but the view is spectacular and the margaritas are excellent. If you need or need to know where anything is in town, Richard is the guide. Nice relaxing atmosphere without the overly loud music. I come here…for dinner and sometimes to just drink and have an appetizer while the sun sets.More

After being closed for the summer, Vallarta Bar and Grill has moved to a new location, Libertad 159, in downtown Puerto Vallarta. My first visit was for a family dinner, and the food and service were, as always, wonderful. The restaurant had only been open…two days, but the experienced chef and Edwin, the waiter/manager, made the meal memorable. We were served a family style platter of fish and a variety of shrimp, including a fantastic coconut/almond shrimp. This will be the first of many visits.More

We discovered this gem of a restaurant while wandering downtown with our little one. We were invited in to see the menu and popped by the next day for lunch. While it is a little more expensive than some of the smaller restaurants or cantinas,…the food is well worth it! My husband and I split a combo platter with chili relenos, enchilada, taco, beans and rice. It was out of this world good! The pico de gallo was some of the tastiest we have ever had. Please do go and check this wonderful restaurant and say hi to Edwin for us!More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local in a side street shop. We checked out the menu as we were searching for seafood. Edwin was a fantastic host. He explained the menu and told us we could change it to accommodate us in…any way. The coconut shrimp were the best we have ever had and were to die for! they created a special dish of mahi mahi wrapped over shrimp and bacon that was out of this world! We enjoyed our time here. Edwin was extremely interesting to talk to and his service was excellent. It’s a convenient location not farbfrom the boardwalk. We will visit again!More

We were wondering around the Malacon and asked a local of a good place to eat off the beaten path. He directed us here and we were not disappointed. Our server Edwin was very good and went out of his way to accomodate us. Our…food choices were superb – coconut shrimp and shrimp with bacon wrapped around it. Mahi mahi stuffed with shrimp and vegetables and wrapped in bacon – out of this world! Would highly recommend! you will not be disappointed.More

We had breakfast at Vallarta Bar and Grill twice while we were in Puerto Vallarta in March 2014. The coffee was soooooooooo good. Wish I had some now. My husband had a shrimp omelet that the chef made a special sauce for. It was very…good. Customer service is great. Highly recommend this restaurant . It was a nice walk from the beach.More

This restaurant is apparently fairly new, in Centro, just north of Rio Cuale on Calle Encino. We were there on Valentine’s Day and they were having a special 3 course dinner, choice of fish and chicken for 299 pesos (about $25USD). They also had a…great sax player for entertainment that evening – his choice of music and the moderate volume made it a pleasant accompaniment rather than overwhelming. The manager (owner?) was very present and checking to be sure we were comfortable (it was hot and he adjusted fans for us) and that everything was to our liking. It was. The only “down side” was that they were not accepting credit cards yet (he implied that would change) – typically we expect places of that quality/ price range to take plastic. A very pleasant evening.More

Excellent food, excellent service!! The food was very fresh. It took awhile for the food to arrive, but good company and good drinks made up for it! Our waiter, Edwin, was very personable and went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy…with their meal. Would highly recommend to anyone, and would visit again if/when we get back to Puerto Vallarta!More

An authentic local restaurant along the River Quale. Large open windows to the quiet cobbled street. A shop keeper directed us to the restaurant as we were looking for something other than the loud, crowded tourist bars. Food was delicious and creative. I’m a carnivore…and my sister a vegetarian and we were both pleased with the menu choices.More

Visited this restaurant while in downtown Puerto Vallarta. They had just opened at this location in the past few weeks. Edwin, our waiter, was great and helped us with our selections. Best mexican food we’ve had in a long time. Friends with us said “best…taco soup ever”. They’ve been in PV every year for 17 years, so know many of the restaurants there. You won’t be disappointed.More

We were just out walking today, Sunday, when there isn’t a lot of places open when we came across a very clean restaurant along the river just down from Café Ole. If you are looking for a more quiet place to sit with comfortable chairs…this is the place to come. We ordered fish tacos for myself and beef tacos for my husband. Edwin, our server was most accommodating, changing my husbands refried beans to a nice salad. We will be going back for breakfast one day soon. Our waiter was very informative about the food and said they will change the menu to suit our tastes. Great place and wonderful service. Just a newly opened and we highly recommend it. Sincerely….Lynne and Dan from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. iMore

We recently had lunch in a new restaurant in Puerto Vallarta that just opened a month ago. It is a corner location on Hidalgo and Encino. Encino is the street that run along the river between the Mercado and ends where the bridge crosses the…River Cuale. I think this location was an Italian Pizza Place at one time. Our initial impressions were that the pricing was very reasonable, the rest rooms clean, the corner location provided an airy location by the river. One of the local business owners recommended this place when we were looking for a casual Vallarta style restaurant. We were very impressed. One of the Dishes that I love to eat in Mexico is Tortilla Soup. We each had their Tortilla Soup and it was great. Everything was made to order. Having been won over by the Tortilla Soup, We examined the menu and found the dishes to show the creativeness of the high end restaurants without the high prices. We are going back with some friends to give this place some more business.More

We were recommended this restaurant by a gentleman on the corner who had just ate breakfast there. The breakfast special was so unique and Mexican we all love it. Came back several days later for lunch. I had the coconut shrimp. OMG I will never…get better anywhere!!! Everything is made fresh as it is ordered, even the sauces. Go and try it, you will love it. Don’ t be worried if you are the only ones there, that just means you will have Edwin to yourself!!!More
