A delicious surprise! My friends have been talking about this restaurant…. An exemplary art chef that learned his craft in France and returned to Puerto Vallarta to be with his family. Covid took away some of his dreams, but his parents, gave up their home…(at least the first floor living room and kitchen) so that their son could start preparing food and begin his life as a chef. It is not in the downtown area but in a small residential community where the streets are make of cobblestones and kids were playing soccer while the teens were flirting with each other. The place is small so reservations are a must. We were greeted and sat down. We were immediately served the best bread that I have had in PV with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and the best mulato salsa (which is spicy) that I have ever had… totally addictive… we shared an appetizer of the crisp cheesy taco with shrimp which was delicious. Two of us had the duck which wa delicious, one the soo buck which was delicious and I had the seafood tagliatelle which was incredible. The food, the service the wine were all impeccable. I LOVE this place!More
Outstanding!!!!! Family owned and operated quaint restaurant with a great ambience. We started with a caprese salad followed by ceviche, all amazing. I had the red snapper which was delish and cooked perfectly. My husband had the Duck and our friends had octopus, all outstanding….Highly recommend, absolutely one of the best meals I have had in Vallarta!!!! Eat & drink here and you will be happy!!!More
Welcome as we got out of our Uber. Seated quickly and we had wonderful cocktails to start. Left to enjoy our time when we asked for more time. Served bread and olive oil/balsamic and a spicy sauce. Allowed some changes to accommodate the food choices…for each person. Food was easily the best we have had in a very long time. Octopus was tender, mussels fresh and tasty, pasta was perfect, shrimp to die for. Attentive service without intruding. The desert was the highlight of my birthday. Thank you Chef Cortes for the phenomenal effort and meal.More
We had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our friend’s birthday here tonight. A group of 16 people. The food was out of this world, the cocktails delicious, and the service was excellent. I can honestly say that it was the best meal I’ve had in…PV to date and I’ve eaten in some wonderful places. I can not recommend it enough!More
Very tiny restaurant completely tucked in a residential area of zona romantica. Great service and an amazing food!!
Cool little place off the beaten path. Over priced for that part of town but that hasn’t seemed to hurt them. My tropical shrimp appy was a 10 for taste and presentation. My lamb was good but I found the sauce too rich 6/10. My…wife’s salad was excellent but her lobster ravioli was just good. Wine by the bottle was over priced. Wine by the glass seemed well priced @ 90 pesos. Till we got our check that is as they doubled the 90 to 190 pesos. That left a sour taste but we let it go. Service was very good. Beer was 65, that’s very high with no view.More
Ate there last night with my spouse. We live in PV and have eaten at all the “top” places many times. This is not one of them. Hard to say this as we like to support the local people but have to be honest. The…food is OK but many places have better. If you’re new to Latin America you could find the location quant but honestly its a dump. The restaurant itself is tiny and uncomfortable. I can see why some might find it unique and certainly is. The owners are very nice and ut pains me to be honest . Would not return nor would we recommend it.More
truly unique experience in a lovely family owned restrurant. Off the beaten track, innovative menu, great service. Make a reservation as the place is small.
We have eaten at most of the finest restaurants in PV, and, in my not so humble opinion, this is the best. The place itself may not be in the best location, but it is certainly interesting. You get a little education on the way…there. But inside, it is nice, but unpretentious. The service staff is just excellent – friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The menu is narrow but sufficient for most appetites. I did not order wine because I did not feel it fit our needs for this particular night, but the drinks were excellent. Our appetizers (Caprese and a cream based soup) were excellent. I had the Lamb Osso Bucco and it was, simply, great. To say it melted in your mouth is an understatement. And it was sooo tender, you could cut it with a dirt look. I forget what my wife got, but she loved it. We had both the lava cake and the mousse, and they were wonderful. Please make reservations, as this place is very small, and you can’t exactly walk to another place if a table is unavailable, unless you want to eat at a small store on the corner. We will be back every time we visit PVMore
Our time spent at D”Cortez was memorable! We shared three appetizers (lobster ravioli, tuna sashimi and cheese taco), proceeded to order two mains (Mediterranean octopus and cornish hen) and two desserts (banana caramel pie and creme brule). All of the dishes were fabulous – beautiful…presentation and mouth-watering flavours. The customer service was exemplary – attentive without being intrusive. Through our conservation with Jos, we discovered that the staff is comprised of family members. Their pride and devotion to making the restaurant the best it can be is most evident. A divine dining experience!More
Up the hill from downtown Puerto Vallarta. Amazing service and even better food. Would highly recommend for a date night. Or a dinner with friends. An amazing family run restaurant. Will be coming back on our next trip!
There are many fantastic restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, but D’ Cortés is definitely among the best! We’ve been several times and are NEVER disappointed! It really doesn’t matter what you order, it’s all absolutely delicious! This is a family business, and our server Isabella was…very charming, delightful, knowledgeable, and attentive! Don’t miss this one! Make reservations. Very highly recommended!!! ❤️❤️More
Reservations are a must, as of now the garden tables out back are booked 2 weeks in advance. I booked for 6 of us. The decor is simple but with interesting features. Service is great, but even with a small restaurant they are busy. We…started with some cocktails and D’Cortes has great selection. They were very good. Our meals were absolutely outstanding. The orders of salads, lamb osso bucco, pasta, red snapper and octopus, each amazing! Coffees to finish were perfect. A PV highlight!More
A cozy space full of wonderful delights. Fantastic infused cocktails, amazingly prepared cesar and just a wonder of mains and deserts. Isabella will take care of you!
Great food and service! Isabella was fantastic! Quaint little place with attention to detail on the cocktails and food!
