What can I say, we love 8 tostadas! The seafood is so fresh, portions great and the price is very reasonable. Everything we ate: tostadas, pasta, shrimp, red snapper, fish fingers for the kids, the pico de gallo served when we sat down, was excellent….I’ve had coconut shrimp several other places around Punta Mita/ PV and they have the best I’ve tasted- light and crispy. The staff were so friendly and accommodating; the service was great each time. This is definitely a neighborhood spot with lots of locals. Now that we are home, we are missing their food and my husband actually wants to fly back just to eat the spicy shrimp pasta at 8 Tostadas!More
All positive! Delicious food, fast and friendly service, good value, everyone we saw—diners and servers alike, seemed happy to be there. We ate there three years ago, had limited knowledge of what we were ordering because menu was only in Spanish, which sadly we do…not speak. But we remembered it was good so our first trip back to this part of town since Covid, we returned to the restaurant. And they had menus in English! We will definitely eat here again this trip!More
More a local off the track spot with few tourists. Very clean and cheerful. Friendly staff. Recommend you have Uber for getting back as few cabs cruise the street
I love 8 Tostados. I love the delicious food it serves. I love the quality of the service the staff provide. But mostly I love what it has taught me about what make a restaurant great. I recently visited 8 Tostados to get a meal…to take away for my wife and me. As I waited for my meal to be prepared I had the opportunity to observe the operation. Since we are still in the midst of a pandemic I checked for safety, and 8 Tostados scores perfectly. All the staff wore masks and wore them properly covering the mouths AND their noses. More about this later. The tables were spaced comfortably apart which allowed plenty of space between dining parties. Though the dining room is not outside, it has a tall ceiling, and a large part of that ceiling is open to the outside. Moreover, the ceiling fans provided plenty of ventilation and an air quality that I deem as good as outside. 8 Tostados does not make fast food, so I waited perhaps 15 minutes for my takeout. This time allowed me the luxury to look beyond the basics of what a restaurant provides, What I saw was hospitality in a broader sense. Customers were made welcome in an honest and genuine way. I was made welcome as I waited for my meal through gentle acknowledgement of my presence and assurance that my food was soon to be ready, And I watched the staff work as I seldom do when I dine in at a restaurant. The kitchen is in the open at 8 Tostados, so I was able to see almost everything. And I saw people working hard and working smoothly together. They were making a dining experience that goes beyond the quality of the food and service, one that is so subtle as to go largely unnoticed. For example, truly good table service does not come for fawning waiters; it comes from an honest desire to make another person comfortable. When I realized this I also came to understand that the staff’s mask wearing reflected their desire to make a safer environment for everyone rather than a need to simply adhere to rules. 8 Tostados will never win a Michelin star for its cuisine. The decor will never be featured in Architectural Digest. But I think that it is a great restaurant because of its spirit that shines through the superficial. The restaurant lies well off the beaten track. It sits on a quiet back street next to a large playfield that local people use. The street is roughly paved, so the traffic is light and slow moving. The restaurant offers an English language menu even though most of the diners appear to be local Mexican people, and this too demonstrates the high quality of its hospitality. Oh yes, the food taste wonderful. The portions are generous. The prices are more than fair, and it does not accept credit cards. i sincerely hope that 8 Tostados maintains itself forever. My wife and i will definitely dine in there more than once during our stay in Puerto Vallarta.More

We visited this restaurant last year and had such a wonderful meal we decided to visit again, so glad we did! Excellent crevice and coconut shrimp! Spotless restaurant and service spot on. Couldn’t recommend a place any higher!

Our group has been going to this restaurant on every visit for the last 4 years. The food has always been great. Some favorites include the red snapper, ceviche mixto, tuna ceviche, and octopus. All the dishes are prepared well and the service is great….Ocho Tostadas has a great selection of drinks as well. Highly, highly recommend as a lunch stop. Come hungry, the portions are generous. A bonus for us is that it is very close to the Sheraton where we stay and is easily walkable.More

Open-air, lively atmosphere. Fantastic Chef’s special fish dish — enough to take home! Recommend for families; they close early and only take cash (USD or pesos) – be prepared. High standard of service that PV seems known for!
We stay at the Buganvilias, so 8 Tosdadas lies just on the other side of the large Stadium play fields. Consequently, a short walk takes us to a restaurant that serves delicious food and has a very relaxed, local feel. Though the dining area is…completely covered, the ceiling is high and has generous opening making it a safe place to dine during the pandemic. I ordered the crab taquitos because others had written highly of them, but i found them not so impressive. I also ordered the mussels appetizer with garlic, which I absolutely loved. My wife did too, so when her plate of the Chef’s Special spaghetti with shrimp arrived along with the green salad we planned to share arrived we were both close to full. The portions are generous, so keep that in mind when ordering. We had lots of leftovers to take with us for another meal. We were the only obvious foreigners in the restaurant, and our waiter spoke enough English to help us make our ordering decisions. The service was attentive but not intrusive, and the presentation of the food was attractive without the artifice one often gets at restaurants geared to serve tourists. As a bonus, we walked back through the play fields which by that time were filled with Mexican people doing all manner of activities ranging from racket ball to soccer to organized exercise to music. We find the Mexican culture to be so full of life, and to see it up close was a delight.More

Oyster shooters and cold beer for starters, Smoked Marlin Tostadas and sea bass over rive with shrimp and spinach. It doesn’t get much better than this. The premier family sea food restaurant. Cash only. Fantastic food.

Was visiting a friend who lived close by and this was an amazing choice. I had shrimp tacos and ahi tuna. The seafood and salsa were fresh. Will definitely visit again next time I am in town.

8 tostadas is one of our go-to restaurant. Everything is so fresh and flavorful; the staff make you feel very welcome – it’s 10/10. Highly recommend marlin tostadas and the aguachiles.
