We enjoyed our meal at Trattoria de Nuevo, the new name. This is a quaint little restaurant in the bustling part of the romantic zone. We loved our food. The Caprice salad we very good. The Pappardelle and sausage was delicious and had fresh pasta…too. I had the beef osso buco with risotto rice. This was simply amazing and delicious. We had sangria instead of wine because we could not pick out a wine that we liked. Service was a little slow for my taste. We had a long wait between the salad and the entrée. Very friendly service by our waiter though. As noted above, they changed their name and they will be moving in a year, just a few blocks from this location. Our waiter said the owner will be updating the LinkedIn profile and new name soon. Enjoy. Cheers.More
This was our first time here, after years of being recommended to us. Yes, it is under new ownership and yes, it is a must not miss Italian restaurant. We loved the atmosphere, the service and the food. Our dinner included excellent wine choices, yummy…salads and entrees that were authentic and large-filled with seafood and good pasta. The garden was such a beautiful area and on return I’ll try the sangrias that another table ordered. Love this place and so glad to have found it.More
I was surprised Gayetano is not there anymore. You can tell the change. But still good enough if you walk around.
Very friendly restaurant. Pasta is homemade and the lasagna bolognese and ravioli in a cream and salmon sauce were excellent. The dessert, called tortino, was similar to a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream—so good! We were only in Puerto Vallarta four days but…we went twice (and ordered the same dishes) because we liked it so much. I would have given it five stars except that the calamari was awful, completely tasteless and none of us could eat it. Seemed out of place compared to everything else we ordered.More
Name change, but same owner, Sylvia. Best lasagna anywhere. We had lasagna, chicken piccata and pasta bolognese. All were cooked to perfection. Also, the place a a slight remodel making the garden more open to everyone.
Took a group of 20 people on a Friday night (with notice) and couldn’t believe the quick service we received. 2 Tables of 10 each and each were served drinks and food in 1 hour marvelous!!!
Something is missing in the kitchen. The shrimp pasta was not tasty and had cheese in it (cheese with fish?) The mussels were dry. Service was very good. The remodeled dining space is improved. Maybe the restaurant in in transition. I’d love it to be…more authentically Italian.More
Di Nuovo, the former Boccon Da Vino, is an excellent neighborhood restaurant on Basillo Badillo. The calamari is the best in Vallarta. The salads are fresh and delicious with a homemade vinagerette. We had chicken parm, spaghetti bolognese, and a veal picatta that were all…exceptional. Our waiter, Fabian, is very helpful and guided our selections with professionlism. Fabian recommended a very nice Chianti that complemented our meal very well. All in all a wonderful experience at reasonable prices.More
My spouse and I have decided new places in PV. There are so many good eateries in town. Bocon was one of this places. The ambiance is cute and cozy. The wait staff friendly but the food was mediocre at best. The pasta lacked flavor…and the sauces were subpar. We left wanting more. I doubt we’d return to this place.More
This restaurant is small and unobtrusive, but it has great food, wine and service. If you want excellent Italian food, get a meal here.
bucon did vino is a great small restaurant in Downtown Puerto Vallarta great food and attentive staff. nice ambiance with a garden feeling. a great place to go to at least once on any visit to Puerto Vallarta
Given the recent epidemic of look-at-me Italian restaurants in the Zona Romantica, it would be easy to miss this fine, understated Italian restaurant. Not fancy, just delicious. The fettuccine was out of this world, and the passion fruit ice cream was amazing. Good, very attentive,…very friendly service in a place where you could dress up or wear your shorts and tank top and feel equally comfortable. This is not a place to see and be seen, it’s a place to enjoy.More
We have been eating at this restaurant since a few years. The fact that we return is positive ! The food was good, I liked the spaghetti carbonara and my husband liked his gnocchi terra&mare. Good wine too.
We have been eating at this restaurant since it first opened about 8 years ago. Since then, a number of new, trendy Italian style restaurants have appeared in the same area, bringing a more “foody” experience. Last week, returned with some friends for a meal…before returning to Canada. It was quiet, we were seated immediately, with great service from the everyone, as it has always been. My friends had the special, a seafood pasta, which they raved over. The dish consisted of the right amount of seafood in relation to the pasts, and was extremely tasty. Their salads were excellent, fresh and not overly dressed. My wife had the ravioli stuffed with spinach-ricotta, served with a salmon wine sauce. Exquisite were her words! I had the penne, served with Italian sausage, and was not disappointed. Our salads were equally fresh and tasty. The evening was topped off when the Owner dropped by to meet my friends. We will always return…. the food is excellent, the pasta is homemade, portions are perfect, wine is plentiful, and the courtyard atmosphere cannot be beat! Not every restaurant needs to be trendy,,,, good food..good service!! MY only complaint….. no Montepulciano D’Abruzzo that night!!More
We won’t be going here again. Food was OK. Service was insulting. Three days earlier, they were begging us to come in. Tonight we came without a reservation and they acted like we were intruding, though there was only one table occupied at the time….The waiter ignored us while fawning over a table of 6 next door that came in after us. For the first time in 40-some years, I left zero tip. I even had to walk up to the front to ask for our check. That is how unconcerned our waiter was.More
