I will start by saying we are not overly well traveled, but this was the best dinner experience my boyfriend and I have ever had. From the property’s beauty, to the views, the food, the service (thanks Alejandro), the music, the ambience. It does not…get better than this. Some might see it as a bit of a splurge but we found it to be well worth it. We can’t wait to come back.More
One of the most incredible places for dinner anywhere! The food is amazing, the service impeccable and the atmosphere breathtaking. Be there early to catch the sunset and stay to enjoy every minute of the remarkable mariachi band. It’s an experience you’ll never forget!
I feel that the restaurant is a little bit overpriced and overrated! The food is good but nothing special to just the price. I would definitely suggest this restaurant for the view and they music! The service was slow and I felt ignored by our…waiter he only came around at the end of our meal we had to flag down other waiters when we needed something! For a foodie like me I definitely don’t think it was worth it for the food ! But the building is beautiful and so is the viewMore
I left my average review based on our experience to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday on May18,2022 You left a very nice reply but insinuated our table of 4 were inebriated in your private message. Now I note the entire review is somehow removed from…TripAdvisor. Strange way to appear sincere.More
I did not remove my response to your review. I would not do that. I stand behind my assessment based on other guest and staff reports as well as what I could view through my security cameras. I sincerely am sorry for your negative experience….More
It was our 50th anniversary and they had a special event $$$$$, at 8pm a 7 course meal with wine pairing between each course was served. At 6:30 they had a cocktail hour that wasn’t included in the package price. Every course was outstanding as…well as the delicious wine in between each course! There was a violin being played during the cocktail hour, and a mariachi band playing the rest of the evening. After there was a fireworks show, what a great memory!!!! The only problem was that PV was packed that evening and there were no taxis or Ubers to be had, After waiting a long time with others someone from the restaurant came down and asked us if we would like them to call a indeeiver, ( you bid to see if they will except your bid) my husband bid hi so we could get back to our condo, they were there in a flash, and as it was we didn’t get back to our condo till 2am. I suggest going here any time, but if you go on New Years Eve, expect to pay about $325.00 each person, that includes the tip , ( but for our special night it was worth every cent). The ambience, and food is something you should expect!More

Celebrated my 60th birthday here. Quite special. Although we arrived a bit late, the hostess put us at ease and gave us a brief tour of courtyard and the historical background of the house as she lead us to our table on the rooftop. Timing…was perfect, as the sun was setting. We ordered cocktails and an appetizer. No rush. We enjoyed the romantic ambiance. The waiter was attentive and very pleasant. We ordered white wine, soups and had the seafood linguini and seabass as entrees. Wow! The food possessed such flavorful spices and sauces, and the wine paired perfectly with the dishes. As we ate, a string band set up, with the horns off in the background. The music provided a festive atmosphere, and the Spanish songs intensified the romantic quality of this restaurant. Tastefully done. I was so focused on the music that I didn’t even notice when the waiter brought a creme Brulé with sparklers ignited to our table to honor my birthday. The band came over and sung a birthday song in Spanish. I just can’t say enough about this restaurant. It’s perfect for a special occasion or just for a special treat. It was a magical experience. .More

Hacienda San Angel Gourmet is a treat. But let me break this down into two parts: GETTING THERE and RESTERAUNT GETTING THERE: If walking it’s a bit of a hike if you’re beach side… a vigorous walk all up hill (we took a Taxi up)…but the walk back down to the sea side maleconis is a breeze. RESTERAUNT LOVED – Appetizers: Crispy Calamari – MORE PLEASE! 🙂 LOVED – Entrée: Angel Hair Paste… delicious! (see photos that don’t do it justice.) LOVED – Entrée: Stuffed Poblano Chile…. if you like a meaty poblano THIS IS IT! Yum! LOVED – Desert: Apple Flambé – deliciously DRAMATIQUE! LIKED – Desert: Coconut Creme Brulee – 🙂More

The beautiful courtyard entry leads up to a lovely rooftop restaurant. Service and food were without flaw and it ranked as our top dining experience in Puerto Vallarta. Highly recommended.
Wonderful. Thank you for dining with us and for taking time to give us a lovely review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your visit. Thank you again for coming and for sharing.
We have read about the Hacienda for many years- with the history of the place directly linked to Richard Burton and the “Night of the Iguana “ movie. So when we arrived in the amazing front lobby, we found ourselves in awe of the place….We took some great pictures, then were escorted upstairs to our table. The rooftop restaurant offered amazing views of the romantica zone and if Bandaras Bay. The menu was fantastic. Our group all enjoyed dishes like, perfectly cooked salmon, seafood linguine , Chilean Sea Bass and rack of lamb. Amazing desserts as well as an impressive wine list. When you make your reservations, definitely request a table near the outside rail. A beautiful night, amazing food and drink with great friends.More

It was a Monday night right in the middle high season when I attended a birthday dinner with nine other people. All I can say is that the place is nice, the service was ok although they hurried us out after we paid the bill…and the overall deal was predictable in a Mexican tourist location. The wine was way over priced, the drinks were weak and my food was lousy. I ordered pan seared scallops as an appetizer and angel pasta as an entre. My scallops, all three of them, were cold and not seared and my entre was barely warm and watery. I do not recommend this place.More
I am very sorry that your visit was so bad. It really is not the norm. If people described this experience regularly we wouldn’t be in business. We are NOT a tourist spot. We are off the tourist beaten track and we have mostly repeat…More

The terrific atmosphere, service, and food made for a very special evening. Julio was one of the best servers I’ve ever had and did not steer us wrong with his recommendations. Only thing that could have made it better was some live mariachi, singing, and…violins… well that showed up too. Great place for a special meal or for just soaking up the sunset views of one of my favorite beachside getaways.More
