Excellent food- Jorge was very attentive. Spaghetti Bolognese was made of hand chopped meat and very well prepared. Caesar salad just as good as the original one in Tijuana and we loved it , also included extra anchovies. Presentation was a bit dated, but taste…is more important and they accomplished that. But well prepared and clean restaurant. Great view of the ocean and beach. Vendors aren’t as aggressive because of the location. P.S- My husband is European and very picky about European cuisine 🙂 We will be back!More

Great place for sunset and happy hours. Food is good. Service is very good but it’s all about the sunset.

We have been eating at Coco Tropical forever. During this challenging year we preferred to eat outside, therefore Coco’s was “our place”. As always the food was excellent and always hot. Heintz, the owner, usually stands by the kitchen and inspects each meal prior to…it being served. Due to its presentation several times I’ve seen him return it to the kitchen. He his also constantly walking around asking his customers how dinner is.More

This is not only the best place we have eaten dinner at, thus far in PV, but also very friendly staff, a super location and entertainment with live music. How much better can it get. The Food was excellent. The Wine list accommodates a well…balanced range of Wines. The beautiful sunset and temperatures complete the experience. All in all we would recommend this place to any of our friends.More

This beachside restaurant has a happy hour between 5PM and 6:30PM with 2 for 1 Mexican drinks, beers and Chilean wines. We made a reservation for 5 PM on their website and were seated promptly at a table with a great ocean view and a…later a beautiful sunset. The tables were spaced nicely apart and the server brought us a large menu to the table on a stand so there was no menus to be cleaned between diners. Two of us chose to order the Ocean Trilogy Newburg (grilled jumbo shrimp, scallops and red snapper over linguine in a cognac sauce). It was an excellent dish and absolutely something we would order again. My mother had the Beef Bourguigon which she really liked but had too much cabbage for my tastes. They take credit cards, but won’t allow them to be used if you are buying an already discounted meal which ours were since between 5-6PM, some entrees are 20% off.More

I’ve eaten at Coco Tropical several times over the last few months. Favorite dishes include onion soup, medallions Zurich, risotto, and, at lunch, the BLT and great fries. Prices are reasonable. Seating is outdoors which is very important to me in the middle of a…pandemic. However their pandemic precautions could be stronger. I was the only customer in the place enjoying a late lunch. I went because there were 15+ empty tables and social distancing seemed good. A couple came in and were seated, you guessed it, as close as possible to me, at the very closest table, barely 5 ft away and upwind from me. They had their masks off before even sitting down. Being so close and perfectly upwind from me made me uncomfortable so I gave up on ordering dessert and coffee, paid as quickly as possible and left. I would suggest they seat customers farther apart when circumstances permit for everyone’s comfort and safety. When you have 15-20 empty tables, it Is not necessary or wise to seat customers close together at adjacent tables. I enjoy Coco Tropical and will probably return but it has fallen a few notches on my list. I was disappointed that their pandemic precautions were not as strong as they could have been and that I was left feeling uncomfortable from this unpleasant experience.More

This place is outside, great distancing and the pianist is really good…providing easy listening. The food was not awe inspiring but just nice to see the sunset, not be rushed and have very friendly service. It is virtually right on the beach.

Wanted to share our experience with others. We just returned home to the cold after a beautiful two week PV vacation with the best weather ever. We parked our behinds at Coco Tropical on the beach during the daytime and enjoyed Memo’s hospitality with food…and drink. In the evenings we headed down to Coco from our condo above in the Plaza Dorada building, where we could just as easily have stayed to watch the gorgeous sunsets but, headed here instead to partake in their daily (except Sunday-closed) happy hour with live music and two for one drinks. Lina was exceptional with her prompt service and always remembered what we liked to drink. She was a delight! We had a delicious meal there one night as well. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing evening with spectacular views to boot!More

My husband and I went for dinner early to watch the sunset. We were seated without a reservation so that was good. The chairs were very uncomfortable. Maybe time to re upholster and put in better padding. The service was haphazard and very slow. The…food was just OK nothing memorable. I had Azteca soup ..ok, The Florentine salad came in a very tall cocktail glass that made it difficult to eat. It was overly dressed and not very appealing. The taste was OK. My husband had a spaghetti bolognese. The taste was Fine but seemed more like pasta with beef stew flavoured sauce. We were not overly hungry so the portions were fine. The menu prices a little high, the glass of house wine was expensive. All in all we were not impressed enough to return.More

We have been dining at Coco Tropical for many years and the quality has always been good. This restaurant is owned by a Swiss Chef who knows his business and even in the very depressed COVID market it still is holding its own. Last evening…my wife had her usual escargot (a unique presentation served in little cups with a pastry topping, and their classic mushroom risotto which she considers “fabulous” and the best she has had anywhere in the world. I enjoyed their decent French Onion Soup followed by their Seafood Trilogy (a combination of scallops, shrimp, and Red Snapper over fettuccini. Food and service were flawless and this restaurant has a nice view of the beach/sea. This restaurant offers a nice ambiance and usually has live piano music during dinner hours.More

Great location adjacent to the beach. The staff were friendly and reasonably competent. I had the scallops, shrimp and snapper with pasta. I got the manager or owner involved because the pasta tasted awful. He agreed but no adjustment to the bill. I was ill…for 48 hrs afterwards. Would never go to this location again.More

Staying at a condo next door so we utilized Coco’s for lunch during our stay. Husband loves Fish and Chips and I had heard that theirs were pretty good. We tried them one day, nice light tempura batter with small shoestring potatoes. The generous serving…of five pieces of fish was enough for the two of us. We also tried their BLT, good with lots of bacon. Comes with fries but we asked for onion rings instead. They were great, homemade and a generous serving. Their prices are little higher than other places…but it’s on the beach so that’s expected.More

l have dined here for more than a decade and most times have had the pork Zurich and potatoes. The pork had a wonderful mushroom gravy that was flavored with madera (?). The potatoes were the best in Vallarta- light & fluffy that tasted like…they had been cooked in butter. 1. French onion soup with rubbery cheese 2. pork Zurich – bland gravy that left a bitter aftertaste 3. the rosti potatoes were now similar to an overdone hashbrown you could get in any breakfast joint but but they were fried in an oil that definitely needed to be changed. Way overcooked.More
