We booked 40 guests for a Mexican-Irish post wedding celebration, the owner and us agreed it all in 2 emails and they took care of us and our people, the food and the service were great, totally recommend the place and the catering service that…they offer, the place has enough space and I like the way you don’t need to wait so long for a drink as it usually happens in puerto Vallarta bars. I came in not now he went to expect for being an Irish pub here in Jalisco Mexico. But you can never judge a book by its cover. I did, however come in at an early time, which is not a problem. I enjoyed myself…the bartender Alejandro was very courteous, always checked in on me, and made sure that I was enjoying myself. He spoke English very well and his hospitality was second to none. I recommend this place especially try the shepherds pie he brought out the HP sauce, and I had a liter of Negra Modelo! No complaints on my side. I had an amazing view and amazing food!More

The place is an absolute rip-off. They tell you that you can only pay by cash, even though there are advertisements for accepting cards everywhere. I ordered two Corona and two tequila and the bill was 550 pesos. We went around the corner and paid…half the price and listened to much better music.More

Service was abhorrent upon arrival. A group of teenage boys in charge of a bar. Lead by an entitled literature character who was clearly more about getting his way than managing people. It was a lord of the flies walk up. No curry fries. The…fries were fluffy and delicious, but Irish drinking favorites (including decent beer on tap) were neigh available. I attempted a sunset meal and ended up with a solo, desperate attempt. I would not argue to abandon this gem, rather that it is grossly mismanaged (clearly by the owners young relative who has not yet learned the subtle art of service). Change your ways, Scrooge, and you may yet save your soul.More

Stopped by during the afternoon to use the rest room and buy a drink. No patrons except for us. Sat down at the bar and paid for a couple of shots. Taking pictures of the empty bar and staff, we were asked by one of…the bartenders why we had taken pictures of them. We explained that this was our first trip to Puerto Vallarta and took a few pictures, which included them and us as there were no other people in the bar. I offered to delete the pictures but the staff continued to ask questions making us extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome, versus wanting to post and recommend this location. So disappointed in the experience and treatment by the staff. Too many other options where to go where staff are welcoming. Avoid going here.More

We have lived in Puerto Vallarta for years and have never before experienced food as bad as that at Murphy’s Irish Pub. It’s one of those restaurants that doesn’t even try, doesn’t have to try, because of its prime location on the malecon. It must…be able to keep its doors open because of the party crowd after dark. Very loud, terrible service and don’t even think about wasting your money on the awful food.More

The stuff are great, the beer are cold, the music and the entertainers are awesome, the view is out of this world, the owner John Murphy is just an ordinary crazy Irish man with a big heart. We just love this place.

We were walking down the boardwalk and almost walked into El Patron when my eyes caught a sign that said Irish Pub. There was Murphy’s. We go to Ireland every year and I love a good Irish Pub. We crossed the street and met Alex…who walked us through the history of the place. The owner being a Coast Guard veteran was ironic as I was last in PV thirty years ago with the US Navy. The food we ordered was well done. The drinks were cold and sitting at the rail looking at the ocean while workomg my Guinness was an experience not soon forgotten. Best of luck to Murphy’s and cheers till we meet again.More
