We stayed at Marboka Hotel, so we had direct access to La Playita the entire stay – you can’t match the view and setting! SPECTACULAR!!! The food was good! Especially the fajitas! Luis was a WONDERFUL waiter and we always enjoyed seeing him during the…several visits we had. There were other very friendly staff that worked this restaurant. However, the Capital/Manager (name starts with a “O”) was EXTREMELY rude to us on our final morning, which really upset us. It was a terrible way to end our vacation. After we placed our breakfast order with our waiter, which included coffee, we waited about 15-20 minutes before wondering if he had forgotten about the coffee. In our experience every other visit, the coffee would come out almost immediately with waters, and then the food would come out later. Because so much time had passed, and the restaurant was not busy, we figured we should check on the coffees. We did not see our waiter, but the manager was standing nearby, so we tried to get his attention to motion him over, but he just stood there looking at us. So, we said, “Would you mind getting our waiter? We are still waiting on our coffees.” The manager stepped toward our table and shouted, “It’s coming!! It will come when it comes!!”and he moved his arms in a gesture to say “calm down”. We were so startled by his response, and taken aback by the aggressiveness toward us. We let him know his response was unnecessary and rude, and he then doubled down by approaching our table where we had a half drunk bottle of pedialight (to replenish electrolytes) and told us he was going to confiscate the drink, unless it was water. We told him to leave us alone and stop harassing us – because at this point, that was all he was doing. We were ordering food and drinks for two people, and had a bottle of the the equivalent of fancy water on the table and he was going to act like we’re were breaking some major rule. We had eaten at least six to eight meals at their restaurant during our stay, and it appalled us to be treated this way. I would say to the owner of the restaurant that this is not a person you want running the operations. He just stared unkindly at us the rest of our meal. He left a terrible feeling in us, at the very end of such a beautiful time in Puerto Vallarta.More
Happy hour twice a day, margaritas, nachos but the best is the tuna! Went for breakfast, lunch and dinner and hard to decide which meal was the best. Love the staff, so welcoming and friendly.
Food, staff, and views! We had the opportunity to eat here multiple times during our vacation. I can’t think of one meal that we did not love. One of my favorites is probably the Seafood soup. Abram was our bartender and he is friendly, fantastic,…and makes a great drink.More
We found this place on Tripadvisor and really enjoyed it. It had really great Mexican seafood with a wonderful view of the Lindo Mar Resort beach and out to the Bay of Banderas. My wife had the Chicken Florentine and I had a Seafood Relleno….Both of our meals were too big to finish so we took them for lunch the next day. The service was extremely good (there were very few people as it was low season). A macaw would squawk near us but the waiter shooed her away and she did not come back. The decor is beautiful as it is Mexican tiles all over just like the Linda Mar Resort.More
Our last visit here we took all our meals here and everything was great. We did the same thing this time…never venturing into town to dine. I thought the food here this time was not as good last time and was a hit or miss….The best was the chili rellenos. The marsala chicken tasted good but wasn’t served hot and without much sauce. I like my food hot when served. The shrimp fajitas was the worst because it was so overcooked. Husband ordered the burger med rare and he liked it but we did see some people not finishing their burgers…probably because they were over cooked. Mahi Mahi was Ok… so you win some, you lose some. We have always liked their breakfast and some good lunch options like their chicken taquitos.,More
Liked it so much we went for dinner twice during our week in PV! Excellent service with delicious Mexican and seafood. Both times we just walked in at sunset and were given a front row table on the water with a stunning view. Great value…and the food is easily just as good as La Palapa with better, genuine unpretentious service. Just a short walk on the beach from the Orchid condos where we stayed.More
Treat yourselves to a very pleasant experience, visit the La Playita Restaurant, Lindo Mar Resort, in the Conchas Chinas area. It’s an open air, very clean and fun place for any meal of the day. They don’t have the buffet on Sundays anymore, but their…breakfasts are great. If it’s your first visit, don’t be put off when you’re delivered to the parking area… La Playita is 7 floors down, right at the edge of the beach. Wheelchair access is good and there are two elevators. We’ve dined at La Playita several times over the decade and never been disappointed, whether ordering local favorites or standard American fare. They also have specialty nights, like Hamburger Night, and Pasta Night. It’s a great place to go for a light lunch or romantic dinner. The menu is broad, the prices reasonable and wait staff very professional. Keep in mind though that there are a lot of new restaurants in PV this year, so competition for wait staff is high. So, at very busy times there can be a longer than anticipated wait for your order. We ran into that situation at every restaurant we visited in January and February. But… having to wait a while at beaches’ edge, the sound of the waves slapping against the shore, your favorite libation in front of you, music in the background. Okay, now I want to head for the airport and get there in time for the noon Happy Hour!!More
La Playita is a smaller, open-air, restaurant located just above one of the most scenic mixed rock and sand beaches that I have found in Puerto Vallarta. The dinners we ordered (whole fish & enchilada plate) were really delicious and the wait staff very attentive….Prices were quite reasonable. I ordered two margaritas since it was happy hour but ended up sharing the second one with my wife. Margarita Warning—while very good they are exceptionally strong!More
We visi int here often usually for happy hour. It’s a lovely hike along the beach. Marg’s are very strong…..beware. great service.
The best thing about this place is the view. It is an incredible walk along the coast to get there from Puerto Vallarta and worth it just for that. The food is not bad but not exceptional. The margaritas are excellent and the service is…pretty good. There is a small beach for swimming and snorkeling right down the steps. Unforgettable experience and one of our favorites!More
Wow. Wonderful views right at the oceanfront. Shrimp dinner was excellent. Hope to go there again. We were fortunate enough to watch a proposal on the beach right in front of us. Everyone one in Mexico is courteous and friendly.
Wonderful View! Shrimp Debbie was delicious! Fresh Guacamole and Chips is a must!!!! Food very fresh!!! We just arrived in Puerto Vallarta and this is the first restaurant we went tried. Our B&B manager suggested we try La Playita since it was in walking distance…from where we are staying.More
The best view while dining in PV. We have stayed here before and didn’t dine at the restaurant much. We found on this trip the food has improved and is reasonable priced. Didn’t go into town to dine at while we stayed at Lindo Mar…so we took all our meals here. Some of our favorites, the tuna, marsala chicken and the Florentine chicken.More
Best food in puerto Vallarta mexico. The Saturday and Sunday breakfast buffet is excellent. And the view is incredible. Great sunsets !!!
You may see several reviews of excellent fajitas at La Playita. I have to confirm those reviews. The restaurant is close to our home so we go there quite often. I’ve had fajitas all over town and frankly these are quite wonderful. Enchilada Paula is…another wonderful dish for seafood lovers. It may be a little bit out of your way but entirely worth it. Cheap Uber ride to get there.More
