My wife and I were walking around looking for a new restaurant to try and stumbled across this place. It’s very small. Maybe three tables inside and a couple more outside. We were both blown away by the quality of sushi. The owner was so…nice to us and prepared everything himself. It was some of the best sushi I’ve had anywhere. This spot is a block or two off the busy restaurant area, so I see why most people wouldn’t even find it, but check it out and you will not be disappointed. They have a new location so many of the photos you see here are not what it looks like now. It’s very simple inside, so the focus is the food. I can’t recommend enough and it will it be a restaurant I will always visit when in PV.More
After being in Mexico for a few weeks, we wanted a change of culinary experience and flavors. Yamada fit the bill. The owner was delightfully engaging and Charlie was the best, very attentive. The menu is limited but covers everything from regular rolls to those…that are more adventurous along with nigiri. Other Asian specialties are offered as well as a variety of appetizers. The vegi egg roll and the gyoza delicious. The tuna crunch was also super yummy. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. We will be back!More
My husband and I wanted some fresh sushi while in Mexico and we discovered this place. The service was quick and good and the sushi rolls were alright. It didn’t blow us away but it was decent.
Dear Jbaudette thank you for your review! We really appreciate it
I just moved to PV and have been loving all the wonderful local food. Last night however I was craving Sushi, and this lovely restaurant did not disappoint! I went early (5:30pm) so it was quiet. They took great care of me! Charlie was my…bartender and server. I assume it was Jorge at the door and he was so welcoming. Charlie was so kind looking after me and even helped me practice my spanish. I got salmon nigiri sushi, edamame, gyoza snd the house saki. For those wondering, the gyoza are shrimp and chicken. (The eggrolls are all veg….I asked). I am a big fan of sushi and this was all delicious! I am moving just a few streets away and absolutely will be visiting here several times a month. Highly recommended! Te veo la proxima semana Yamada. Muchas gracias!More
Thank you so much az93 ,Te veo la próxima !!
Great service and food! Tiny spot under a stairwell and the other reviews were spot on! W head the Vallarta, rojo, tuna crunch, salmon make roll (no rice) … and they take CCards … nice break from Mexican all the time. East walk from beach…and in the romantic zone. Rolls @2-250/rollMore
Dear customer thank you for your review!i Looking forward to see you again
O.M.G. My husband and I are total sushi snobs and after extensive research we found this place while vacationing in PV. Saying that it was amazing is an understatement. The sushi is FRESH, delicious, & the sushi chef (he said his name was Wasabi Flores…lol) was hands down perfection. We asked for a special roll to be made with whatever he thought was good after eating 5 different rolls, and he did not disappoint. Normally we don’t return to places we’re vacationing after enjoying the food but we HAD to come back, they were that good. And we’re from LA/OC & this place beats our faves back home. Thank you Yamada Sushi for an incredible experience – see you soon! We ordered Stuffed Jalapeño Crunch onion tuna Sunset Secreto Misterio Salmon Taco Vallarta Salmon Sashimi A special house roll Literally can’t do wrong with anything.More
Thank you so much for your review,it was a pleasure to have you
This place is fantastic. Friendly staff, nice space, superb sushi and half of US prices! What more do you want? Beyond the sushi, the fried rice was the best I have eaten anywhere.
Dear Drewmc50 thank you for your review, we really appreciate it
I met Jorge and Dora about 5 years ago when their restaurant was on Madero near Pino Saurez. I ate there several times and did the hibachi tables with a group in which they received rave reviews in the PV Times. Although they have downsized…and no longer have the hibachi grill, their food remains awesome. The sushi, tempura and fried rice are the best. Everything is so good from service to all on the menu. It’s hidden a bit behind the act11 advertisement but don’t let that dissuade you.More
Dear Christine thank you so much for your review, we really appreciate it
Unexpected great find in Romantic zone. They moved to this location last November. Staff was friendly, menu was great and food was very good for Mexicio. I had a couple of rolls and some Salmon. I will be back
Dear Pearsest we really appreciate your review, and we look forward to seeing you soon
Best sushi in zona Rosa if not all of PV. The signature rolls are excellent (we like the vallarta, dragon rojo and sunset)
Dear RichardBToronto Thank you for your review! Looking forward to see you again.
Great new location just below Act2. Same owner and staff so expect the best sushi and hibachi grill. This is a new review for their new location and it’s all raves!!!
Dear customer, Thank you very much for your review!
Wife and I have eaten here twice this trip. We’ve ordered 6 different rolls, and 5 were outstanding. (Only odd one was the riceless sashimi wrapped in cucumber – tasty but big and hard to eat). There are only 3-4 tables inside and 2 out….You can eat there, get it to go, OR, if you watch a show in the ACT2 theater upstairs, they service your table! Highly recommended.More
Dr.Bob Thank you for your review, that will help his to keep improving
New location in the same building as the theater. Ordered the dragon roll and pot stickers. Friendly service. Tasty meal.
Dear Tokengayguy thank you very much! Looking forward to see you again soon
I’ve been to Yamada probably about 50 times. It is by far the best sushi I’ve had in Vallarta. In fact it’s the best I’ve had in Mexico! The tempura is amazing. The attention to detail is awesome! They are very generous with their serving…size and take extra care to make sure everything is super fresh! I love their tempura California roll. They have amazing beef teriyaki which I have had many times. Very filling. Their tempura ice cream is ridiculously good too! I’m addicted to this place! Jorge is also a great host!More
Great little place 1 block up from beach. Food is quite well prepared and good choice such as SoftShell Crab! Hamachi is available. Chef take note….get a good flash freezer so that your prime fish is well frozen.the Hamachi was tasty but had too much…water content. Good freezing techniques eliminates the large ice Chrystal formation…hence watery texture and quick loss of freshness!! But…everything absolutely delicious and highly recommended.More
