We were told about his place from nationals at our resort. They compared it to one of our favorite restaurant at the Marina so we thought we would try it. 1st day we went by we could see staff inside and diners, but everything was…locked up and no one would even talk to us – 1st sign of a problem. They are only open till 1800, our fault. The next time we came earlier and when we walked in we were greeted, but they would not give us a seat in a half empty restaurant but place us up front were there was traffic from wait staff. We placed our order but automatically felt out of place. We were the only non-nationals in the restaurant, which is common for us, but what was not common was that we were treated that way. After placing our order we waited and waited for our food. As others came in they had no problem getting tables that we had asked for. Two of the tables next to us ordered, one the same item we had ordered, and they got their order before us even though we came in way before them. They also got regular wait staff service. They got a basket of chips, which is something we were not offered. My wife wanted some mayonnaise which google translated to mayonnaise – 1st time in Mexico I had to translate Mayonnaise. No one seem to understand till they finally got a 4th person and then it was mayonesa and we got it. After 25+ years of traveling in Mexico, this was the 1st time wait staff acted this way instead of being helpful. Since we were the last table served, behind those who came after us, the food was average at best. My wife had a house specialty of crackled fish. Many pieces you could not taste the fish, but on pieces that were no over cooked the flavor was good. I had a fish filet with lots of garlic – I know “Ajo”. My garlic was BROWN [see picture] and crunchy with next to no flavor. The vegetables and rice were excellent and the best part of the meal. The only thing that seem to go fast was getting us our bill. We will not be back here, not just because of the food but also because of the way we treated by staff that did seemed to not care about tourist in this local restaurant.More
One of my best restaurant in Puerto Vallarta where you can eat fresh seafood freshly fried fish ,octopus and other stuff. Clean environment fast service. Is my favorite restaurant of sea food in Puerto Vallarta!! If you go there you have the option to have a chair on a table or sit down on the yellow bar, the last option is that I recommend because you can enjoy how they…make make your tostada, sashimi or whatever you order of the cold food. They don’t cook….. they make art!!!More
This place was recommended to us by a local since we wanted to try a local Mexican seafood restaurant. It is with walking distance from Secrets Vallarta Bay (600 meters/yards). We got in, service was extremely prompt and respectful. We ordered the Seafood salad and…Tuna Ceviche (since it was hot and at lunch time) and the small portions were enough for me and my husband. I do have to admit we had 3 beers as well. The food came within 5-7 minutes from us ordering it. The best part is that you can watch them prepare the food in front of you if you sit at the bar. I would definitely recommend this place!More
This great little seafood restaurant is in my neighborhood and I frequent it often. The freshest of seafood prepared simply without overpowering the flavor of the fish. I love the seafood salad of shrimp and octopus. They also offer fried fish and ceviche. A full…bar is offered and the cocktails I’ve had there are strong and delicious. Service is prompt and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. They are only open for lunch and the restaurant does get quite busy on the weekends.More
This little quaint place is at the end of the Malecon. We stopped in because my husband loves fresh seafood. He had a fresh seafood cocktail. He says it was the best he ever had. I had a cool drink 🙂 The service was excellent…and the people are very friendly. The price was very fair. We stop every time we are there in PV, MXMore
All the food is very fresh and delicious. They have a large variety of dishes bot hot and refreshing cold ones too. All the staff can explain how each dish is prepared, so don’t be afraid to ask. They also have a variety of Micheladas….This place may have changed it’s name to to P8T Versalles there was a name disputeMore
We visit the restaurant frequently, being near our condo. The seafood is nicely fresh and well-prepared. My favorites are Quesadillas con Camarones, and Camarones a la Diabla, my wife prefers enchiladas with crab meat. We are sure to continue our visits.
I was taken by a local friend for lunch to “8 Tostadas” never expecting to have such a delicious meal! We sat at the bar and ordered Tostadas de Marlin, Aguachile de Camarón and a Ceviche de Atún – everything we ordered was wonderful -…especially the tostadas!! I would highly recommend this restaurant! (NOTE: They close at 6:00pm)More
Mariscos 8 was located across the street from our hotel. A local vendor told us they had the best Ceviche! Wow, he wasn’t kidding. We went for an afternoon snack and so happy we did. Lots on the menu to choose from. Inexpensive.
We were looking for another place but it was closed. Mariscos looked inviting. We had tuna, bacon wrapped shrimp, beer and lemonade for 600 pesos. A little on the higher price side. service was good, lots of staff on hand, not too busy. My tuna…was a good sized piece cooked just right.. I do not think we would go out of our way to return but we were pleased.More
The food was amazing! The staff very friendly. There are 3 locations but only one accepts credit cards. I highly recommended 🙂
The service was great. We have eaten at several 8 tostadas but the one next to Santos and la vaca de argentina is the best. Best service best food. We came here twice in 3 days. And well be back!!!! Thanks guys
We visited the one that’s by La Vaca Argentina I have a tostada de ceviche and tacos de camaron, the tostada was good but a bit dry the tacos were ok nothing special but decor of the place was nice and overall was a niche…restaurantMore
Food was amazing… And service was really good too. All waiters were on the lookout for anything needed without you having to call them over… Their is valet parking and its short walking distance from a mall and a couple of other cool places.
