We have enjoyed breakfast at Cesare’s for many years when visiting Vallarta….honestly, one of the best in all of Vallarta. Their toast, butter and jam is the start of equally wonderful things to come. Recently, we were in the area at lunch time and decided…to try them…SO GLAD we did! I ordered a Cesare vegetarian sandwich and husband the Molcajete and we shared a large pitcher of melon water. Husband was expecting a ‘lunch-sized’ (smaller) version of the Molcajete and we were both surprised by its’ large size…it was so full of tasty tender beef, panela cheese, onions and cactus and finder licking sauce we decided to concentrate on eating it and bring most of the sandwich back to the condo. With a 30% tip (yes, the service is worth it….friendly, informative and appropriately intentive) the entire bill was 430 pesos….and the better part is it was delicious! Although they will continue to be a favorite breakfast stop while in Vallarta….they will definitely see us again for lunch before this trip is up!More

Tried this for breakfast. I ordered the Poblano omelet. It was like a chili relleno omelet. A whole chili stuffed with cheese inside the omelet. Served in a light green sauce. So good I’m going back again. Husband had the Supreme omelet with bacon, ham,…mushrooms. Breakfast served with beans, potatoes, toast and we asked for tortillas also. Very inexpensive prices…locals eat here. Service was good. Only open for breakfast and lunch. Inside and outside dining.More

We only had drinks and appetizers here, but was the best margarita and guacamole I had on the whole trip. We will definitely be back for a full meal.

So this is exactly what I want on New Year’s Morning in Vallarta. This place always seems busy so we thought we would give it a try. Sat down ordered Huevo Gusto a La Mexican and coffee. A simple easy meal to get our day…going. This is at 10:40 AM. At 11:20AM still no meal, coffee cups empty, waiter says food us coming. He lied. 5 minutes more and I cancel the meal. Pay 50 pesos for 2 of the worst tasting cups of coffee we’ve had in Vallarta. When was the last time you washed out your coffee brewer Cesare? Now we’ll walk by here ever day and pray that people actually get service and be happy cause we sure as hell weren’t.More

27/4 We three British middle aged guys were starting our three week tour of this part of Mexico based in PV at the end of April. We had booked our accommodation at Hostal Enjoy Vallarta 19 from London and on our first full day wanted…to have a walk on the nearby beach and have brunch locally. I researched TA and fund a few options including this place but did not think much about it as we were hoping to eat on the beach. We got to the beach and the restaurants there were all getting ready for lunch proper and not offering breakfasts so we headed back inland a couple of small blocks to the main road and saw a number of paces offering breakfast including a corner Sports Bar at $US7 each. I spotted Cesare and remembered the review was quite good. We had actually passed it the evening before but it looked totally closed. A banner outside proclaimed breakfast deals at 120 each. We took a table at 11:00 on the side of the terrace so we could enjoy the outside environment of birds singing although the traffic was not appreciated. A guitarist started playing in the other corner but thankfully quite subdued. The friendly waiter offered us the breakfast menus (in English, thankfully) and two of us chose the advertised set deals, our friend just chose the scrambled eggs (Huevos Naturales (55). With the menu came coffee, and our friend ordered a Negra Modelo as it was almost noon by the time he would get it! By 11:15 two plates of mixed sliced fruit were delivered along with warm bread and packets of butter. This was a good start. The coffee came in mugs and was filter style, a bit weak and stewed by the time we got our first but topped up with fresher, stronger versions without asking, even after we had finished breakfast! At 11:22 the main ‘courses’ came and were very generous, even the simple natural eggs had a good amount of beans and chilaquiles (but I think there was ham on those). Two spicy sauces in bowls accompanied that and tortillas in a basket as of the taco chips in sauce were not enough! All very generous! There was also a small pot of home-made strawberry jam for the bread which was also a nice touch, and tasty! My scrambled eggs with vegetables was very tasty indeed, and our friend enjoyed his fried eggs, sunny side up, in the tomatoey sauce. After the second round of coffees we were not hurried out at all. We asked for the bill and it arrived at noon as a handwritten and accurate 255. On the bill slip was an optional 10% tip of 25 added which we agreed was good value as the service was so good. We paid in cash the full amount. I found out from the waiter that it closes at 5pm, hence our thinking it was thoroughly closed the evening before when we passed by. We left very happy for a tour of the local area and a bit of shopping to buy essentials (that cannot be taken on board the Tui Dreamliner in our hand luggage only) for our next 20 days in this great country.More

We walked downtime street with the purpose of finding a restaurant for desayuno. I was in the mood for huevos. And, there was Cesare with its beckoning shaded patio. Tracie had the chilaquiles with ranchero sauce. She was surprised when they came with strips of…steak on top. She enjoyed it. I had the poblano omelet. Strips of poblano and some queso inside the omelet and a creamy poblano sauce on covering it. A squash blossom topped it. Exactly what I wanted and it was delicious. Service was quite good. Competent and attentive. + Wi-Fi. + Cooling fans on the outdoor patio. + Music. A singer (with his music box) who started out doing tunes from the 50s which I really enjoyed. He then shifted to the 70s. – Paper napkins. – Cheap Tramontina flatware. $241 MEX for breakfast for 2, NOT including tip. $20 MEX tip for the singer.More

We’ve walked by here many times and it’s always been busy. Stopped for breakfast, which is a bargain. I had Mexican burrito and husband had omelette supremo. Both very good options. Served with toast, wedge potatoes, beans, and some homemade salsas (beware of the salsa…verde, fiery hot!!) Good coffee, good food, outdoor ambiance, can’t get better. Also, very reasonably priced…More

In fairness we didn’t order anything that deserved great expectations — eggs and pancakes. And what we received was as mediocre as it sounds. But the service was friendly, and apparently there is some vibe here that people like, as evidenced by the many occupied…tables. We liked it. We’d probably even go back if there weren’t just so doggone many other nearby places we’d love to try.More

My wife was pretty picky about sampling the local fare, even though I was game for anything. She chose this place because it looked very clean and open. We sat outdoors and the service was good. The chairs outside were a little uncomfortable, but the…fresh air was nice. The food came fairly quickly and was flavorful and not greasy. They forgot the guacamole on her combination, and she didn’t want to send it back. I had the fajitas and they were very tasty, although they didn’t bring out a plate or additional fixings other than the tortillas. Over all we paid 22 bucks for the meal and it was good but not amazing. I would go there again, but be more specific on what I wanted them to provide.More

We stopped in because we were hungry (imagine that!) and found they have quite a extensive menu with something for everyone. I tended to order the more Mexican breakfasts being that it is in Mexico after all and was never disappointed and left very full…each time. My wife ordered the fruit and yogourt plate or the french toast both of which were awesome.More

Have eaten here many times over the years and it’s always been good. However I just ate breakfast here in January and both the service and food were not good, it almost seems like it’s gone downhill. The waiter initially was quite friendly and eager…to take our order and give us our beverages which was coffee. During the meal he completely ignored us never asking how our meals were or ask if we wanted coffee. I had to wave another waiter down and ask for more coffee. Normally they bring salsa to the table and there was none brought, so agin I had to ask for that too!! My friends poblano omelette was not bad he said (not as good as in he past though however), my everything omelette was brought cold with three tiny pieces of potato wedges and a little bit of refried beans. The omelette was tasteless and very tiny! Prices are pretty much the same as any breakfast place in PV, however you will get better service and food elsewhere! I will never return and I advise everyone to avoid!More
