We stumbled upon Las Brazzas on Isla Rio Cuale whilst looking for a late lunch, early on our one week stay in Puerto Vallarta. The food, drinks and service were excellent. In fact, we kept going back throughout our stay. Jorge the owner is an…incredible host who knows his way around the kitchen and the bar. Regardless of where you stay in Puerto Vallarta, you should visit Las Brazzas. You won’t find better.More
It was an awesome experience. Jorge, the owner, is incredibly kind and helpful. He does everything to make guests feel at home. Plus, his prices are amazing for what he offers. On top of it all, it has a majestic view and vibe fue to…the cultural center. Finding Las Brazzas was a highlight of our trip.More
On our last night in PV, my wife and I left our teen boys to forage in the condo for dinner, and walked down from Amapas to this small little bar and grill on the northeastern (I think?) edge of Cuale Island, across from the…Centro Cultural Rio Cuale (I think?) and anchoring the little square there. The sandwich board out front, which doubles as the menu for the day, listed two options: chicken quesadilla and shrimp tacos. We ordered those w/ pico de gallo, some tortilla chips, and our margaritas. Our food arrived pretty quickly, and…words fail me after that. Using quotidian terms like “chicken quesadilla”, “shrimp taco” and “pico de gallo” just doesn’t do this meal justice; while they properly categorize what we ate, they don’t communicate that THIS FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING!—the best iterations of their kind I’ve ever had. The quesadillas were light and balanced, but definitely filling; the shrimp in the tacos was fresh and exquisitely grilled. EAT HERE! EAT AT LAS BRAZZAS AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN! Service by the owner-operator and his grand-son was unassuming. Hygiene was rustic but fine. But the food! The neighborhood and relaxed, romantic pace is partly why you go, but the food is why you’ll come back.More
We came across this hidden gem on our first day in PV and continue to frequent it. It is located on Isla Cuale which at the moment can only be accessed over a suspended bridge. On Fridays they have live music and a dinner special….The food is delicious and don’t miss the Margherita’s and Pina Colada’s! Before you leave you, you may even make a friend or two!! Great family run restaurant since 1984.More
A local expat said that Las Brazzas had the best Margaritas and he was right! The bonus … they only cost $65 pesos ($3.25 USD). Yes this place is all the way up the river and it’s not a fancy place, but it is worth…the beautiful walk. Highly recommended and we will return.More
This is the best keep secret spot in town. Go at sunset. You will be transported to another city. Jorge the owner is great. Dont forget to try the mojito, margaritas and guacamole !!
Every visit to Vallarta! We walk up the island to the cultural centre and stop at Las Brazzas. This time we ordered nachos. Small hot iron plate with lots on nachos, melted cheese, refried beans and some fresh guacamole in the center. A couple of…cold Pacificos made for a perfect light lunch. aMore
This is really quite an unassuming place. 3 tables outside with more inside. Service is more than friendly, the beer is always cold and the quacamole is exceptional. In fact, this is the only place on earth that I order quacamole. Take the time to…visit the island and don’t hesitate to stop at Las Brazzas Grill!More
Just the place to stop after walking up from the beach through the park (Isla del Rio Cuale). The beer is cold and the food is great, service is outstanding the prices cannot be beat. Tacos, quacamole, quesadillas and more. Relaxing and quiet.
My husband and I took a romantic trip to Puerto Vallarta where we stopped at this little grill right near our Airbnb. It’s such an amazing Place their Margaritas are to-die-for and their food is Indescribable my husband had the shrimp burrito and I had…the tortilla soup we couldn’t have been happier with our orders. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is peaceful. Located right next to Rio Cuale, we enjoyed the sounds of nature while we ate one of the best meals of our trip!More
After a very long walk we arrived at the park and one of our favorite little restaurants. If you really like cold beer, this is the place to stop. They had a fish taco special, 3 for 50 pesos. They were excellent and worth going…back again. Worth the walk to the end of the park.More
We have been going to this restaurant since 1994. The tortilla soup is excellent, prices very reasonable, and service always very friendly. Everything we’ve ordered through the years has been very tasty.
We weren’t sure of this restaurant when we started walking on the east side of Isla Cuale. As others mentioned many shops were closed until you reach the cultural center. We sat outdoors and had a very reasonably priced lunch for four with inexpensive Margaritas….($1.50 US.) They were somewhat sweeter and Americanized compared to other places, but the food was quite traditional and tasty. Total bill was less than $40 including gratuity and several drinks. The owner/Chef even comped us a Bailey’s shot at the end of lunch.More
My wife and I were walking along the Rio Cuale island in the morning when we came across Las Brazzas Grill just as they were opening up for business. The place is rather small but the service is very friendly. We were looking for refreshments…as it was a hot and muggy day, so I can’t evaluate their food as we didn’t have any while there. We noticed that their chairs had names written on them and the young woman serving us explained that they were the names of their regular customers. We needed to use the bathroom before leaving and I have to say this facility is way below par. There’s only one bathroom and it’s marked for ladies, and aside from being very tiny it is in bad shape. The toilet seat doesn’t stay up (for guys), and the toilet leaks water from around the base. All this needs fixing. But all in all we were glad that this bar/grill was there to meet our needs. – Cheers!More
Las Brazzas Grill is a nice little restaurant near the Cultural Center at the end of Isla Cuale. With just owner/chef Jorge and server Melissa in the restaurant, service is very attentive. Prices are very reasonable and there are always a number of daily specials….It is a great place to bring guests when visiting some of the hidden places of Puerto Vallarta. Today we enjoyed tortilla soup (rich broth, with lots of veggies, lime, and tortilla strips) and the special marlin tacos al pastor ( 4 tacos with lots of marlin and a tasty sauce). The margaritas were rather sweet, but refreshing. We don’t get to the Grill very often, but always enjoy it when we do.More
