We enjoyed Benja’s bar The seafood tacos are amazing, but be warned the fish is breaded and deep fried. This wasn’t apparent until they arrived, and my wife can’t eat wheat. Delicious flavours. Friendly service. They charged me more than listed price, and when I…mentioned this they said the price had just changed, without being told/listed. I paid the full price, but they didn’t seem to care that this was improper.More
We love going to Benja’s Bar, the food is spectacular and fresh. The service is so friendly and attentive. This is one of the best places to go for seafood in PV. We go regularly and we always have a great experience.
We discovered this nice little corner bar/restaurant a little while ago and have now been back several times for lunch. The menu is fairly basic and only serves seafood. Having said that every meal we have had has been excellent. Servings are decent and everything…is ultra fresh. Prices are very reasonable; their beer prices are the lowest in the area (22Mex Pesos at the time of writing). The margaritas are very good too The restaurant is only open from 1.00pm ( the bar opens earlier) and closes at 7.00pm. However it has been in business for over 40 years, so they must be doing something right! Service is great and the two owners are friendly and helpful. Its mostly a local’s place, but there are some gringo customers from time to time. Definitely worth a visit if you like seafood and want to get away from the maddening crowds.More
Nice friendly local seafood, this place is known only by those who live in in the neighborhood. Always fresh and delicious, all cooking done by owner. If you want a delicious authentic Mexican experience this is the place.
Clean friendly local restaurant with fresh seafood made to order. Cesar is the best chef! Good for lunch!
This is a quint restaurant by the hotel I stayed. It’s decently stocked bar but my friend and I were here for the food in the afternoon. The shrimp tostadas were excellent with fresh salsa and tasty shrimp. I want to put extra emphasis on…the fresh salsa as both times I went here to eat the owner was making the salsa. It is also very inexpensive for the same food elsewhere. I observe that locals come here to eat and I may be the only tourist. Overall I would come back here again.More
A friend and I recently headed to Benja’s for fresh ceviche and a few cold cervezas. This corner eatery is small, open, clean and well-liked in the neighborhood: locals walk by greeting the owner, who cooks in a small counter kitchen. We sat at the…bar and were quickly served icy Coronas and an aguacate-topped pulpo ceviche tostada ($35 pesos and enough for 2) with fresh lime, cilantro and marinated onions to garnish as we liked. Next arrived a generous serving of ceviche Acupulqueño ($40 pesos): delicious marinated fish (with a few shrimp) in a savory caldo (broth) with tasty aguacate and diced tomatoes, accompanied by a basket of Saladitas and warm, crisp tostadas. About 8 different salsas and hot sauces were available; we found the habanero and Huichol brand worked well without overpowering the fresh ceviche. The total bill for 2 was $110 pesos; we left satisfied, vowing to return soon.More
