We absolutely LOVE this restaurant. We started coming here when we got married in Puerto Vallarta in 2014. They has delicious, authentic Mexican food and amazing service at that time (made room for our party of 15 when our first plan fell through, gave us…delicious breakfast the day after our wedding and recommendations for a great beach) We have come back 2 or 3 times since then, most recent 7/2021 and the food and service remain excellent. We will continue to come back whenever we are in Puerto Vallarta!!More

Really bad experience. We were planning to eat at Mr. Cream but the wait time was one hour so we decided to give this place a try. They took the order for the first of us to arrive ( we were a group of 9…). About 10 minutes later the rest of the group arrived and they ordered their food. Only half of the first 5 people ordering first got their food while the other still waited for the food and the rest of the party did not even get the chance to order until 15 minutes later because the waitress was soo busy with other tables ( even though the restaurant was not full) At the end , only 3 people got to eat from our party of 9. One of our family members was an elderly person and we insisted to get her food first and that never happened . We were sitting at the table for about 1hour and we never got our food and only a few of us got drinks. Others did not even get the shakes they ordered. I feel for the waitress because he was so nervous and did not know what else to do but the manager was not pushing or helping to get our food done. We complaint to the manager several times but he seemed to be so bothered by the fact that we were asking for our food that he was kinda ignoring our request. We were trying to be patient at first but after waiting for an hour sitting with no food, it gets pretty irritating. We ended up leaving the place and the manager was very upset and started to give us bunch of excuses. We paid for the only 3 people that eat but the manager did not even had the courtesy to give us a discount or an apology for the horrible service. Funny enough by the time we had enough and left the restaurant empty stomach , Mr. Cream had plenty of tables available . I am giving 2 stars only because the 3 people that got the chance to eat really liked their food. DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME HEREMore

Great place for a leisurely paced breakfast or lunch. Authentic Mexican fare and the restaurant offers ample choices! It would be hard to find a more extensive menu. Prices are moderate and the service is great! It is a favorite with the locals and has…years of success. One of my favorite places to eat!More

Second year in PV and this is the restaurant we visit more than any for breakfast. 1. Great coffee 2. Pastries are very good, but the scones are best I have ever had. (Cranberry) 3. Breakfast is good. Large variety. We ate the eggs Benedict…twice. Remember, it’s breakfast, so don’t think you are going to be amazed by the delicious food. Think “very good local diner”. It’s not cheap. Lastly, many locals, not Americans or Canadians. If you care.More

Enjoyed a couple of hours at this delightful restaurant whilst celebrating a birthday. Friends from Puerto Vallarta hosted us. The meal was delicious, the staff accommodating and professional, and the venue was lovely.

This restaurant is across the street from Mega (large store). LOVED the food! I got the”Alcatraces,” a nice variety of food, all delicious. My spouse has the chiles rellenos — also great. Very tasty and very reasonably priced!

We had breakfast here and were pretty much the only tourists. Good sign if the place is frequented by the locals. Lots of menu choices, delicious food, friendly and quick service. And very cheap !!!

Walked out of the Vidanta paradise to eat at the new local place outside the gate Alcatraces. Big,Big space don’t eat outside very noisy with trucks, buses and cars going by. We were three couples and had traditional Mexican all good but not great. We…had shrimp stuffed with Guda cheese, stuffed peppers, a steak Mojeta that was huge and smelled great. The chicken enchiladas were good and the garlic shrimp was reported to be good. The hit for the new place was the the tortilla soup. All and all a nice night good service and good local food at about $17 a person.More

Walked down from the Sheraton for breakfast. right across the street from Mega. Friendly, small, restaurant with outstanding breakfast. Very friendly. Better food than at any of the hotels and much less expensive. Coffee a bit weaker than I’m used to… but no big deal….we loved this placeMore

This is a new destination this year. If you are staying in the Vadanta complex (Grand Mayan, Grand Bliss, etc.) getting off property continues to be a challenge due to the effort to prevent walking off. We walked from the taxi stand out the ‘under…construction’ gate to the restaurant took the long cab ride back. Food was excellent! Portions suitable for big eaters. Pleasant atmosphere on Sunday, no live entertainment which allowed catching up with our friends. I would go back without a second thought.More
